Gold 8th place earns you +15 points.

So from what your saying , you had 585/590/595 and the +15 points for being in Gold 8th place would make you 600(or more) and move you to Diamond. If i’m correct , then yes it would/should have.

Also note, you should have had a green flag if you were going to move up to Diamond while sitting in 8th place. No green flag if you were NOT going to advance.

Red circle shows the green flags on those that will advance. Purple circle , will get you to your last weeks finish information. Blue circle is your current level after last weeks finish.

I play on PC so i dont know if that makes play easier than a iphone.

Being 8/9 star , i’d say they were certainly near the top most of the time. Since 1st place gives +100 , 2nd +50 and 3rd +25 , you can be 4 star without being frequently near the top. I play about every other week and am 980 so need another 3rd place to make 4 star. Generally, when i do play, i try to place in top 9 just to get points. I also pick the weeks to play, if i see that its going to be 1 shot wingman/powerpotion/kingsling (or earthquake) for almost every panel, i dont play that week as that just means everyone will be using specials to be in the top 9. I like to play where almost all panels make you take 4-5 perfect shots, just in the perfect place (skill & patience) , BEFORE you use specials (or dont need specials). So i dont play some weeks.

You really do have to use power-ups to move up unless you just want +5 for being 4th to 9th.

    @purplemoon

    1) There are rare occasions that no power-ups are required to be in the top 3 of a panel. Rare but i have done it. Usually (not always), power-ups are needed to be in the top 3 of tourament play in a single panel. Also to be in the top 3 overall of your group of 40 , power-ups in all or most of the panels will be required (at least for gold and above)
    2) I have played online games since they were first developed and wrote games before online existed back in the late 1970’s. ALL games that have “purchase to help play” are designed to get you to pay real money. Some will let you play for a very long time until you reach a level where to gain more almost REQUIRES you to purchase. Thats how they are designed, deal with it.
    3) Cheaters exist, always have, always will. Rovio does watch for them, i proved it myself, when i ended up “invisible” only to be declared “ok” because they had set the max to low for a panel’s maximum possible score. Invisible is when you go over a max possible score value for a panel, they make you invisible to other players (total players go down from 40 to 39 if 1 is set to invisible). If they determine your score is ok, you are reset to visible again, if NOT possible, then ??????? (i dont know but you wont get a + score for sure)
    4) Forced? Well, you need to rethink life in general as to what is important and what isnt.
    5) Keep smiling , life is only what you make of it.

Opera browser is pretty fast to download and install. Try it with that brower, i’d think your problem is some setup on Chrome. If Opera gives you the same problem, you can always uninstall it (or leave it and not use it).

I get this same complaint on occasion. I found that i have to close out internet exployer, restart it, go back to FaceBook, start up ABF again. This only happens to me on rare occasions and only when i have been sitting on ABF for 12+ hours or even all night while sleeping.

I also use Opera instead sometimes, but honestly it seems only to happen on IE and when i have been on ABF from IE for most (or all) of the day. If i find a solution (other than X’ing out of IE and restarting) i’ll pop back here and drop you a line. Not playing this week so wont be until at least middle/late part of next week before i even try to find a different solution.

    UPDATE:

You did not mention the browser, system, hardware you use to access/play AFB on. I tried Opera browser instead of IE and in running ABF for the last 4 days constantly, i only had 1 “oops” complaint. If i had been running IE 24 hrs a day for 4 days , i would have expected more by now. My only conclusion would be to try another browser, see if that helps you.

    Hello,
Currently the game works so that if a person is flagged as “possible cheater” (they get too high score on one level) they are hidden from other users but they will still see everyone. When another user is flagged, they will see both regular and flagged players. So the 2 users that received too high score on a level were flagged before you, which made them invisible for you until your score went over the limit. That is why these users seemed to “appear from nowhere”, as they had already been there for some time.
    Kind regards,

The above was the reply from Rovio Support Team about my “appeared outa nowhere” concern. Their reply makes total sense and fits perfectly what i saw happen. BTW… I also got another letter stating that we all 3 were allowed to have the high scores as they miscalculated what a certain panel high score could be, and we didnt actually exceed the high score.

So in your case, it appears they were flagged and unflagged and i guess reflagged again.

Are you safe? No, not until the proverbial “fat lady sings” (weekly tournament is over).

Oh, BTW, watch the total number of players in your current league play, if there were 40 but change to less than that, then the “missing” are ones flagged.

Someone with a 8 star. Well, heck just make your profile pic with a star number (if your good at photoshop) and you can be a 8 star player too… lol

the answer to weeding out cheaters… yes they are.

I had something happen last week. I was in first place, scored an additional 13K on a panel, went back to main scoreboard and found now in 3rd place with 2 above me. The 2 were not there 15 minutes prior. Checked all panels and found them in 1-2 place in all panels except for the 1 i had just scored the additional 13K. I wrote to Rovio, saying there is no way at 1:30AM on Sunday morning for 2 folks to go to 1-2 place in 15 minutes in all 5 (almost 6) panels, when I and everyone else had been working all week to slowly get to the top.
They wrote back.. here it is….

Above reply explains what happened, my score of additional 13K on that panel, put me “invisible” and now i get to see all prior players including the 2 “invisible” that really had been higher than me, i just didnt know it before. BTW… I also got a note saying the 3 ‘too high’ scores were found legal as they had mis-figured panel max score , so we all 3 were now ‘visible’ and legit.

    Ok…
that explains what happened to me at 1:30 AM this morning. Was on leaderboard in 1st place by 19K. Tried 5th game again and found the perfect 1st shot, then cleanup ALL the rest with 2nd shot of WingMan/Power/KingSling, which increased my score there by 13K. Did that in 15 minutes. Back to leaderboard, expecting to see leading by 19K+13K just added. But… NO!!! Now in 3rd place. Checked to where 1 & 2 had gained and found they had passed me in 5 of the games!!! And would have been ahead of me in all 6, had i not increased 5th by the 13K.

So… 2 players both did it? and all in the 15 minutes i was in 5th game? and their score has not changed from that instant increase for the last 14 hours at all?

At the time i saw it happen and up to reading the prior post, i was sure they BOTH cheated to do it. Now i believe the game messed up and put 2 players into our tournament play from some other tournament. I cant say for sure, as i know they were never in the top 10 but i dont keep track of all in the tournament.

Another reason i think the game messed up, is that it still says i am in 1st place on first screen.. the one that right now says “Your Rank: 1st 9 Hours Left”. Also when you go to the “Share Your Scores” , it also says “Kathy Rank? 1st”. (i typed Rank? because i really cant read that word there..lol) Plus when you go to League Results, it says “League Rating 805(+100)”, even though i am actually 705 right now, but 1st place would make it +100 and end up as 805 starting next week.

Sooooooooooooooooo….. glad i read your prior post, i feel better but still hope i get the credit for 1st place!

    PurpleMoon
    @purplemoon

Well, for sometime i suspected some were cheating. Now i am totally positive. (I am a 1star player, I worked VERY hard with time and money to get there) Here is why i know 2 players cheated…

I spent all week, hours and hours and hours each day, slowly improving. Was in 1st place in all 6 panels Wednesday. By Saturday, my scores were beat by small amounts on 4 panels by different other players. But still 1st place overall by 19K. Ok, reasonable. Playing at 1:30 AM , Sunday morning (today)… was in 1st place overall yet. Found panel 5 by perfect shot (lots of luck with christmas tree sling) and then using Wing&Power&Kingsling, beat my score by 13K. (was in 1st place there but now 1st by additional 13K) Awesome. Went back to main (15 minutes ago i was still in 1st place overall by 19K, expected to see 19K+new 13K added) and was in 3rd place!!!
What? 1st to 3rd in 15 minutes? Checked all panels, the 2 now in 1st/2nd place overall, had beat me in 5 of the panels!!! No possible way to beat in my score in 5 panels in 15 minutes when i had done “perfect” shots in at least 4hrs a day for 5 days. And their total score of more then 21K!!! You can NOT beat 5 high scores at 1:30 AM on a Sunday morning, in 15 minutes that took me 20hrs all week to do that!!! NO DANG WAY. Cheating is the only way.
Another funny thing… the only panel they hadn’t beat me at, was the one i had just increased score by 13K on, they were now just a couple K below my score. Like, they had planned on being high score there on that panel too, but i had increased 13K and caught them by surprise.
They (company) better stop them. Suspected cheaters, now has proven themselves. Last week I ever play.

also to add… the 2 players scores shot up from beyond 10th place to 1st/2nd overall, suddenly in the 15 minutes i was in panel 5, and for the next 10 hours that i have been currently watching, their score has not changed at all. instant score increase in 6 panels from beyond 10th place to 1st/2nd place in each panel, at 1:30 AM Sunday morning, in 15 minutes and then their total score not change again. Two players at the same time, pretty unlikely too!

So just how can you take a screenshot and report them to Rovio anyway? I’ll keep looking on how to report cheating to them.
    (thanks for letting me vent..lol)
