Well, I think I’m convinced that spending actual money does improve your “luck” with the AGPM. During the anniversary sale a few weeks ago I dropped $5 and got 150 LC. Then during the most recent 5x I spent around 200 coins on 15 coin rolls. The very first roll I got 3 or 4 set items. I continued to get them regularly; there were only a couple times where a 15 coin roll did not result in a set item. The other bonus is no ads, at least for some amount of time. As always, your mileage may vary.

I understand about randomness and patterns, but it sucks when it happens to you… :-) Also there are enough bugs in the game to make me suspicious of Rovio’s implementation of a fair “random” number generator.

I’m curious–those that are having good luck with the GPM, have you spent any actual money on the game? I never have, and generally my luck has been bad since the introduction of the AGPM (never gotten anything on the free spins). Although, on the last 3x RR, I did get *THREE* set items in one 15 coin spin (mostly duplicates). It did occur after I got another free item triggered by the full rainbow bar, so I’m wondering if that “primes” the machine to drop more set items in a given session (it would likely be a programming bug if that is the case).

I respun only once or twice to get items but otherwise just relaxed and played the 3 stam events until I got all the parts for the day. I got the witch class with a day and a half to spare. The free item from the treasure chest every 12 hours helped a lot to lessen the stress.

Maybe it’s just me, then, but it wouldn’t surprise me if Rovio is getting extra stingy, given their financial woes. I do know that my experience with the golden pig machine is very bad. Even with the advanced GPM and the 5x monthly bonus, I got far fewer set items than I used to get with the weekly rainbow riots. (Only one or two non-duplicates–and from crummy sets at that–when I have only a handful of level 52 items.)

I did try my trick with airplane mode before spinning (and force exiting if I got a result I didn’t like), and it did work, but it took me 12-13 times to get a result I could live with. Eventually I settled for one re-spin to get 6k for all. This seems to strongly suggest that Rovio has skewed their “random” spin against the players. There is like a ~0.4% chance (if I did my math right, (5/8)^12) that 12 spins would result in NONE of them coming up with a 6k for all result. And that’s not even counting the sometimes 3-4 re-spins in between, too.

That could be awesome in combo with illusionist, which distributes 25% of damage to other enemies. If the damage is actually real (mine shows the same as the screenshot), then hitting a low-damage minion with this coup de grace while it has the illusionist dancing spark on it would hit every other enemy with 96342 HP, which would take out even the strongest enemy.

In the last event I encountered a “feature” with the reward wheel. The event ended while I was in the car and I spun the reward wheel just before I went into an area with poor/no coverage. I got the 1500 for all birds on the first shot. Great! However, I then went to do something else and came back in a few hours to discover the game restarting and the reward wheel came up again. This time it cost me 3 re-spins to get the 1500 for all. So, I’m going to try to exploit this “feature” on the spin this time. When the wheel comes up, put the phone in airplane mode, then spin the wheel. If I don’t get it on the first spin, keep re-spinning until I do get it, then force exit the game, turn airplane mode off, restart the game and repeat the cycle. I think the key is to make sure you always finish on a good spin, just in case something goes wrong. The 6000 mastery for all is too valuable to miss.

Hmm… mine is still 16 for his first and 156 for the second attack. Not complaining; leaves me with 100% health when I’m finished.

Cool, thanks for the tip. I didn’t play the dungeon in the Sonic event because I was too stressed about getting all the parts for the Illusionist class. Rovio made it a lot more reasonable this time, especially with the added parts-for-video treasure chest every 12 hours.

I 3 starred the dungeon easily with Paladin + Dragon’s Breath, Wizard + Mana (resists the 100% stun), and Bard + Doom (take advantage of the auto-stun of the last pig to deal some extra damage). I’ve been using this combo throughout the event, but I’ll substitute in Tricksters + Ballista when there are bird restrictions (I’ve never gotten the Beep attack set item or I probably would use that).

I think King Pig’s vampire bite heals for 100% of the damage that the bitten bird deals. I have the mana set and King Pig tried to bite Chuck but it showed “Immune” (this is a really great set). Easy to counter with a class that can remove harmful effects (Tricksters, Princess, Rainbird or Chuck’s Mana set), or just don’t attack with the affected bird (use buffs only). Anyone run the dungeon yet? What are the enemies? I’d rather not waste 10 stamina going in with the wrong birds.

Ugh. I had the opposite experience. I just got the Advanced Pig Machine and spent 105 coins during yesterday’s 5x bonus. For the first 24 rolls (4x 15 coin rolls) I got NO set items, then the next set of six hit a full rainbow bar, and that seemed to break things loose and I started getting some items, but I ended up with a couple crummy sets (Bomb’s golden gun + Matilda’s new set) and a couple duplicate items. I’m not impressed by the 5x. I used to do better spending ~35 coins in the weekly rainbow riots.
