@Dingbat, so how much DID I pay for that jingle sling? It was a long time ago and I was impressed enough to buy one for use on my other device. It seemed a little expensive, but worth more to me than a bunch of power-ups…

    Hi all,
I’m honest enough, but not sure if I’m ‘reliable’ enough to join the “closed group” of AB Friends as I work 2 jobs.
I’d still like to propose “a toast of thanks” to Makin Bakin for such sterling dedication to all of the queries! You’re a star and deserve a knighthood, in my opinion, “Sir Makin Bakin”!
PS: If you’re a female, my sincere apologies, “Lady Makin Bakin”, but the thank you stands as it is.

“Jingle” should be the ‘default’ sling for serious players, but that varies week by week…sometimes it’s a ‘curse’, blowing up valuable real estate that will yield a higher score if (detonated, etc) later in the level…

    Don’t give up!
I’m a “straight” player, too, who’s actually managed to stay in Gold league for over 2 weeks, without using power-ups, (except for “testing purposes”) to see if my ‘strategy’ might be correct.
I was #7 in Gold, today, but now relegated to #10–and it’s only Day 2, where I live.
    Best wishes!

    You’re 100% correct.

How can you tell if someone is cheating? I don’t understand the concept on a game such as AB Friends.
REPORTING a ridiculous score on the forums, with zero proof, is ‘kind of cheating’, but those ‘wannabes’ are not taken seriously by experienced players.
I play well and, although I sometimes use ‘power-ups’ for “testing purposes”, ie, trying to work out if my ‘strategy’ is going to get me a ‘higher score’, I am still a ‘straight player’ and all of my *best scores* were made without power-ups.
That’s just me, though there must be thousands of others who feel the same way. I don’t mind not being ‘the winner’ every week. I play for enjoyment and try to stay in the top-20 players. It’s not always possible, but time is limited. Playing more makes you better, if you have the time.

I was worried about a similar issue—-ABF stopped working, between sessions, on my 3rd-generation iPad, using iOS 5.x. I couldn’t play the game and I couldn’t shut it down, so it was just “locked-up”. I got the message: “Outdated client…update iOS”—-I’d NEVER updated the OS because iTunes always seemed to screw up on me. When I got similar messages from YouTube, for half the videos I wanted to view, I decided I had to move with the times.
Anyway, I backed up the iPad on the latest version of iTunes on a PC and waited a million years for verification of the update–it wouldn’t work. I got every single error message that was posted on the Apple support page and I eventually decided to ‘restore’ the iPad (as suggested) to factory settings ( = lose all data/apps/pics, etc.) After that, it still didn’t work! Neither of the buttons did anything, charging it did nothing–I believed it was dead, so I threw it onto my kitchen bar and intended to ditch it.
A couple of days later, I just thought I’d mess around with the ‘dead’ iPad. The only thing I hadn’t tried was the ‘shut-down’ procedure. That worked, somehow! Holding both the ‘home’ and the ‘sleep/wake’ button for a few seconds. At least I got an Apple logo! When I switched it back on, all was shiny and new (meh!) I then went back to iTunes on the PC, et voila! my photos, contacts, etc were all restored. When I got ABF, I was still at the same level–Gold, but back to silver, because I couldn’t play for a few days. I hope this is helpful!
