    Clan battles are more and more frequently dominated by cheater clans, unfortunate for those of us who don’t cheat. The clans you find on this forum usually do not have cheaters, therefore winning an honest clan battle is increasingly rare. But there are still plenty of rewards in the other challenges.

    Rovio’s stock tanked last week, dropping 50%. The company is forecasting lower revenues in advance of its earnings report. I WONDER WHY???

    First, cheaters are obviously proliferating on the platform of (what I imagine is) their most lucrative game, AB2.

    Second, honest paying players complain to Rovio to do something about it!  Rovio gives them lip service, but little else.  Meanwhile the cheaters are exploding in number on the platform.  Rovio completely fumbles reducing their ranks.  In fact the opposite is true.  They are multiplying like crazy.

    Third, the honest paying players, discouraged by Rovio’s inaction  and frustrated by cheaters getting way ahead in the game, spend less on gems.

    Rovio typically bites the hand that feeds it (paying players) and rolls of the welcome mat for the swarms of cheaters.

    Is it a surprise, therefore that Rovio’s stock just dropped 50%?  If Rovio continues its inaction, giving its paying players only lip service with regard to this plague of cheaters, their revenues will probably drop further as players buy fewer gems.

    The problem is getting worse.

    It’s yet to be seen if Rovio’s last update will turn back the tide of cheaters.

    We should have a permanent thread here dedicated to clans looking to merge, so that they can find a match.

    @birdythunder

    The problem with clan merging is that one clan’s leader and co-leader(s) give up their leadership roles, at least temporarily. That could make people in the “donating” merging clan uncomfortable.

    There’s no link.

    That’s Rovio’s “standard issue” response. At first it seems very encouraging. Then you realize that the players in question (AKA cheaters) are going about their merry way, still in the game.

    Not sure if Rovio actually has a plan to turn back the tide of cheaters.

    @ryan-kochie , true, we must keep reporting suspicious players, and keep up the complaints to Rovio to express our dissatisfaction with cheaters running rampant on the platform. Even though it may feel like we’re p*ssing in the wind, we must remain proactive. Thank you for the motivating reminder. :)

    Impressive star rank of 8. A truly model and respectable player. Rovio should reward him for his dedication to the game.

    Everyone else, remember to buy those $49.95 gem packages ;)

    Rovio might secretly monitor these boards, but they don’t seem to interact anymore.

    Russian cheaters with max or near-max flock power are a regular occurrence in clan vs. clan. Russian cheaters dominate in the game and “own” Rovio. “Suckers” spend good money on gems to play honestly and support the game and Russian cheaters take delight in their humiliation in clan vs clan. Seriously, Rovio has not done the work to even begin to turn back this nauseating state of affairs of cheaters running roughshod over honest, paying players. The problem is that the Rovio is technically incompetent to provide the game integrity that their paying customers deserve. Expect nothing to change! Rovio will give you “lip service” if you complain. I’ve temporarily stopped buying gems and will let them know that this is in protest.

    Hi Slayer, great follow-up!  You’ve articulated very clearly and intelligently both your leadership skills and the triumphs and tribulations of leading a clan and having to weed out under-performers. I agree 1000% with your approach, and compliment your leadership and communication skills!

    Slayer, the difference is that Gary has a calm, inviting and level headed approach, which I’m sure will result in a loyal and successful clan. And Slayer, you have your own approach, which to be honest, is somewhat incendiary.

    Thank you, Gary.  Still deciding on whether to stick with current clan or move on. I appreciate your great communication, and will post if I’ll be joining.

    In what league is Sour Kush? Do you still have openings? I am almost 400 FP and active in events. Thanks.

    @nashall

    I am active in events and have FP of almost 400 and am shopping for a new clan. What is your clan power and number of members? Thank you.

    @ccanis

    Cloned profiles with max FP and identical star value is “standard operating procedure” for Russian cheaters.

    It’s disheartening that Russian cheaters are running circles around Rovio’s failed attempt to curb cheating.

    I don’t want to demean Rovio, but their technical staff is really outmatched by the cheaters. Players should make a lot of noise to Rovio, and then maybe Rovio will get the message that cheaters are spoiling the game experience for the honest/paying player base.

    Hello @hank ?

    @yue-zhang

    True, job #1 for Rovio is to patch their AB2 software and possibly overhaul the way Rovio tracks player details, to block exploits and hacks, and detect cheating.

    In clan vs. clan battles, cheaters (such as players with ill-gotten max FP) really spoil the experience for Rovio’s honest, paying customer base, the players who pay into the game, and without whom there would be no game.

    @hank
    don’t you agree?

    Birdy
    @birdythunder

    @yue-zhang

    I have noticed this phenomena in other clans of high FP players with identical star value. Sometimes maxed-out FP, sometime just extremely high FP, but identical star values for groups of players. It does on the surface look like “cloning”. Have cheaters found a way to clone? Just curious.

    Birdy
    @birdythunder

    Cheaters on AB2 are a slap in the face to players who play the straight and narrow and who don’t cheat.

    Rovio first and foremost must respect players who honestly play the game, and pay into the game, by keeping a fair and level playing field.

    Rovio themselves have employed cheap and underhanded tactics to milk honest players of money, like Arena mismatching and the Viking Hat event. Players should complain to Rovio about those cheap tricks. Rovio is far from innocent.

    But cheaters are spoiling the fun in clan battles, and honest players deserve a fair playing field. Therefore cheaters should be sidelined by Rovio. Sorry cheaters, but you’re ruining the clan vs. clan battles for honest players.

    Birdy
    @birdythunder

    @ryan-kochie

    True!

    Players who legitimately earn their FP and pay into the game deserve a cheat-free game environment. Rovio needs to respect their honest/paying player base by sidelining cheaters. If enough people complain/report, hopefully Rovio will pay attention.

    Also, Rovio needs to get “smarter” in ferreting out exploits and cheaters by surveiling chat boards, etc.

    @hank

    Playing across multiple devices is allowed. He must have been banned for a different reason?

    Birdy
    @birdythunder

    I think that the cheating arises from a psychological need by cheaters to accumulate “wealth” and “power”. Is it a coincidence that max FP players are Russian, and the game equivalent of “oligarchs”?

    Birdy
    @birdythunder

    It’s possible that a cheater can also have a very high star level. Even a couple of years ago, hacks and exploits existed, so if a long-time cheater went undetected, they could have potentially achieved a high star level.
