Join the Birdsnest Arena leagues!

I’m currently Level 36 and have not encountered any Level 41 players in my leagues and not ran across anyone with excessively high scores yet. I do notice people being active the first day then tapering off (and it does seem like leagues fill up as you go so when you first join you are placed in a league with mostly people who join around the same time, but this range can also be a few minutes before (and after) your join time, and in a few cases there seems to be one or two people who came from an earlier batch so they may have a one day/set of objectives head start.

Starting 26 hours late finished being beneficial for me too. I got just one obvious cheater (that joined Friday only…) and the more competitive players limited themselves to complete the daily objectives. I finished 2nd with relative easiness and qualified for Diamond league.

In Diamond apart from a few hundred snoutlings and more stars for the end of week spin there’s nothing to win. I started around 3 hours late to be able to do 2 sets of objectives in a few hours. I’m second now with 11.5k but the leader already has 23k… So, not much to report apart Ressurection emblem being really great. With the Blessed set and Ressurection emblem on the banner plus Phoenix set for Chuck and Save Me for the Blues, the birds seem immortal!…

I started 14 Hours late and have not yet seen Cheats. However, it’s still early on and I’ve not completed any Objectives for the day. First place has only 1100 points.
So far. So good.

BUT, this non-responsive button issue is REALLY getting old. I logged on 10 times this morning and was able to play 3 times. The other 7 times I had to shut down after this issue. I REALLY hope Rovio fixes this issue. Soon.

I actually made it to Platinum despite last minute rush by cheats. Feel very sorry for 2 and 3. I meant to log on today but accidently (I know – out to dinner blame it on the wine) did so last night. So far 12 on my board one obvious cheater and one ABN. Have a lot of catching up didn’t complete my targets last night. Let’s see how things work out.

Starting a day late last week didn’t hurt me any either. I did not need the last days objectives to advance or to take first had I so desired. I sandbagged my way into second place and advanced to platinum.

I started three hours late last night and my board seems fair. Currently about 450 points behind the leader with 13000 after two days objectives and a little grinding.

Managed to advance to Silver when I started a day late with others here. Now I’m in a league with nearly 10 players fighting for the top 3 (only like 300 points separating all those 10 players, me included) so it’ll going to be a fun week. (they better not resort to cheating!)

Didn’t we find it didn’t make a difference to open Arena , but not claim the event reward? Is this still the case?

@mvnla2 — I did not open the arena at all last week or this week until I decided it was time. I had no one on my leader board this week until this morning. I played all last night by myself. I don’t know if that was because I joined late or not as it seems the weeks I played right away my board filled up quickly.

Moved up to Diamond this week thanks to the fair leaderboard I got by starting late. So far I have a fair leaderboard again and only ten participants, so no real reason to do anything but complete the dailies and keep my spot. I do notice a lot more hacked opponent teams up here in the highest league. I had almost forgotten what running into them was like.

Spoke too soon about a clean board as someone has popped up to an 8000 point lead. I wish Rovio would do something about this. Has it done any good to report these people? If not then why should I waste my time or god forbid my money trying to compete.

Reporting did nothing. Rovio replied “blah blah blah we’re doing our best blah blah blah and we will fix it soon”. Cheater never got removed.

I made it up to Gold league and started about six hours late. At first I was by myself but then the board suddenly had 9 or 10 people on it, one of whom already had around 80,000 points. The opponents are really tough and part of me would like to go back to silver or stone where I can play match after match instead of one out of ten opponents but the competitive part of me is very annoyed by the blatant cheating! I think we all have an equal chance of getting an occasional reset so that doesn’t bother me, but the obvious cheating does.

I faced 2 ABN players this morning. I SEE CHEATERS and SNARKY. It was the first time since the league began. Good to see ya! May the Force be with us all. I moved to platinum and it has been rough so far. I am in ninth and playing to stay out of last.

Week so far 14 payers on the board. One blatant cheat from the beginning. Another possible since last night either that or an accidental reset. Have to wait. Last week they played really smart and stayed behind until the final 3 hours of the game in which I didn’t participate. I have time to grind tonight but don’t expect to progress. I intend to delay starting for a day next week. It seems beneficial.

Hey @dallasreds, good luck in Platinum!
This is my fourth week at this level, and the first time I have been able to compete near the top of the group. I am within 5k of the leader, so probably just an active grinder… good to see! I also haven’t struck any hacked teams this week, although it is hard to stop checking the numbers before committing to a battle!
I had a battle against @bubbley yesterday – however no one recognizable in my group.

@snarky — So the people you battle in the arena when you are trying to finish your objectives are real people? I thought they were just opponents made up by Rovio.

@mvnla2 They are cached/saved bird states from real players but computer still controls the moves.

@mvnla2 The opponent birds are just the selection of birds that have most recently been used by each player in the arena and which are recorded on Rovio’s servers. I am not sure whether the selection gets updated after each battle. I will use several bird line-ups during each round. Or more simply, it is likely that snarky battled against the most recent bird line-up that bubbley used.

This week I was promoted to Platinum league. This week’s competition is totally screwed, in terms of fairness – about half of my competition are cheaters. Also, I’ve been getting a lot of maxed out players in my battles – about 95% of players I’m matched against have higher mastery level classes and higher league banner set items. They are so tough that I end up losing all 3 banners and I’m forced to spend my precious Lucky Coins. Hope Rovio implements an anti-cheat system soon and that the battles have less OP opponents.

@snarky nice to meet you. I reached Platinum this week not in a rush to make Diamond. We have 2 cheaters but quite a few of the players are not doing much. I don’t know whether they are struggling with objectives or simply disillusioned. Certainly the competition is tough. Took me a while to 3 star three battles.

@mighty-red-1 it’s not fair but was it ever meant to be anything other than a way to make us spend LC. Despite the cheats etc. we are all competitive enough to want to win and therefore we spend. Madness but we still do it.

Edit: Oddly enough played you just after I posted this. Wizzard, Bard, Rogues don’t know if that’s what you would expect or if the computer picked the line up.

I encountered the Snarkster @Snarkey two more times this morning in about an hour. What are the odds 3x in 2 days? I also played another ABN with a very clever name but I don’t remember because I had not had enough coffee. I have not seen them in this forum. I am in 6th place with no 1 and 2 with 2x as many points. Everyone keep your chin up as proud non cheaters. Does anyone have $40 so I can buy more LC ? Ha! Good luck to all.

Anyone here in Stone League?

I’ve been hanging back to check out whether or not there are a lot of cheats ; nothing really bad to report. Occasionally there is one , but I imagine most are in the higher leagues.
