@vinnieb00 I am not trying to be flippant in throwing some of this back at you, but you are as guilty of justifying Beserker based on your stipulations as I am for Sea Dog from mine. To be clear, ANY single bird up in Arena is typically dead meat if the enemy has a full team up, so yes, Sea Dog is next to useless and probably KOd in this less than enviable scenario, but so is Beserker, so any benefit from damage source is nullified.
You, as stated, don’t have Valiant, so you really are not seeing the benefit of a Sea Dog in my described setup. Having the class up most of the time (even post-nerf, this is frequent and more than any other set obviously) makes damage inflicted by a full health Sea Dog linked to another Bird unbeatable, especially when you throw in the added bonus of TJ procs. Yes, this is based on my experience and configuration, but we cannot describe the usefulness of any class without some sort of context. For you, it’s your experience and setup, for me, it’s mine. This is exactly what these forums are about, and hopefully we as players, find other input useful, especially when it’s concerning unfamiliar situations. Again, I do find Beserker useful, I simply prefer Sea Dog in my setup and with my playing style.
And a couple of things for the record:
I have used Sea Dog, on and off, since the inception of Arena. This was initially with Blazing Set, then I switched to Blessed, and now Valiant. I have found Sea Dog useful in each of these, although slightly more or less, as Banner Sets are, obviously, very important to a Team. It certainly should be noted that I have not deviated from Time Jump much in any of these, which is a very compatible Emblem to Sea Dog.
I actually have lost now with my preferred setup. Only once, however, and all it took was a frustrating run of Reset procs against and an inordinate number of Ballista crits. Why the implied attitude to my success? I have long ago stated that Arena has devolved into who has the time and/or inclination to grind, and many others have stated in these forums that they have similar results. I have no reason to lie about this, and to be blunt, really don’t care if you believe me.
