Now today…I did okay but didn’t play much in the arena…even had a few “10” scores….In fact, now that I think of it for the short time I played this afternoon it was back to the way it used to be but maybe a bit better as it wasn’t that easy but not impossible to beat an opponent…maybe they are fixing it…Dare I dream the impossible?????

I’m done with the Arena. It just isn’t worth it anymore. I was in second place until a few minutes ago, with 1035 points. (the first place player has 1962 points, having accumulated a huge — actually, impossible — total in the first day of the contest). Then, moments ago, a player with a name in Russian script, who was not even in my league, suddenly appears out of nowhere with 1644 points, dropping me to a distant third place. How does a player switch leagues with 7 hours left in the contest?

I’ll play the daily challenge in the future, but the Arena just isn’t worth the time and effort anymore when crap like this happens. Good luck to those of you who still remain…

Is the level1 spells glitch only in diamond league or in lower leagues too?

I am just playing the free entry and saving up tickets…I went from 1st to 14th last week so am demoted to amethyst. I am going to see how low I can go because I just don’t care anymore

I think that I have figured out Rovio’s plan for assigning a level of 1 to spells.

The Blizzard spell is now a more powerful spell when compared to the others. It destroys nothing so the reduced level has no effect, while the scores produced by the other five spells are drastically reduced.

I see people talk about opponents in the arena having 1,000+ points. I rarely see 1st place have more than 300 points. What am I missing?

@krakham I used to be one of those players with between 1500-3000 per week. However since the last update it is just not as enjoyable as it once was, and as such my league rarely breaks 300-500 per week.

Sure, I will no doubt grind the single player aspect when they release more auto generated levels, and if there are more hats, or things to do I will no doubt do them as well.

But as to the arena, I think you will find the last update killed it for a lot of users. You only have to read the last 10 or so pages to see multiple people have left/uninstalled the game since the update.

@hank was kind enough to post that Gems will be returning to Treasure Chests in a December update, and also mentioned that the level 1 spell bug will be fixed in the next update (not sure if that is Decemembr or sooner), so hopefully those fixes will bring some players back.

But something is just not right with the arena since the last update, and I am not sure those 2 fixes alone will rectify the issues.

These days it is a rare thing for me to go past the 3rd streak without using any spell. Still happens but very rare. Sometime I cannot even get past the 1st streak.

That means I may have to play 2 arena games to get 1 win, 1 win of 5 stars. I think that is why I haven’t seen the astronomic scores anymore.

Wow consider yourself VERY lucky you’re in those sort of leagues. I envy you :) You might be in those leagues if you consistently end up in first place. As for me, I’m getting eaten alive week after week. 1st place always gets over 2200 stars(from players like Buck McGlide) and I can barely stay in 3rd place. Right now 2 days into the new tournament, Birdy Silver (has maxed out birds+ elder gold sling with a star rank of 81, which is low considering I’m at 110 with an elder sling) who already accumulated 897 stars (accumulated 350 stars in an hour). I was at a close second at 488, but just found out Birdy got caught cheating, so he’s dropped to 1 star :)

Also what’s pretty funny as this is the 2nd tournament in a row where 4 placeholders in my diamond league are filled up with users that have level 1-8 birds. Keep in mind, I’m in diamond league LOL.

I sent Rovio a screen shot of a guy who was started rank 11 and had what was the max at the time, he had pirate hats on all his birds the day they were released. They never even bothered to respond.

@gazzer They’re still on their monthly hiatus before checking the income report, then calling up their last developer left to take 5 minutes to come in and make sure the servers haven’t crashed.

They haven’t even removed the Halloween splash screen and that’s been overdue by 3 weeks.

So not everybody in the Diamond league, or whatever the highest league is, is in the same Diamond league? They are like in a sub group of the Diamond league? From the first time I played the arena I never understood why of thousands of players only a handful are in each league. And isn’t it wrong that one sub group of a league is easier than another group? Like I said I’ve rarely seen 1st place finish with more than 300 points. It usually around 150-200.

This week I have taken screenshots of each win I’ve had in the tournament, and am currently at over 620 points with second placed player at 300 odd.

This is the highest points total I’ve ever managed to get in a tourney and it only due to having birds at 1evel 20s and 21s, with a full Cowboy hat set, and perhaps a little luck with not as active players in the group.

So, from my perspective I know it’s possible and I plan to do a little video of the screenshots showing the points adding up and how my birds are levelling at the same time with the feathers being won.

After this week I’ll give it a rest and move down a league or two before giving the tourney another go.

Maybe the solution is a HARD limit on the number of tickets per day. In any type of competition it is absurd to expect that one can win because they can compete 24/7. I can recall many an evening where I would retire and play for 2-3 hours at a time. How is this ‘competition’?

An open ended competition like we have now is simply not the best way to determine who the best players are. Not if they keep playing. I realize the value of the current model but it simply invites a lot of abuse in my opinion.

Today in arena. Last streak. I was leading by over 7 million because my opponents doing very badly. I clicked fast forward button after clearing a room. Until the screen suddenly freezing and showing fast forward progress, but nothing happens for next 20 minutes. I tried to forceclose the app until i found out my streak ends.

Complete and utter bullshit. I’m sorry if that isn’t allowed but damn this game ticks me off. I’ve been saving up on arena tickets. Every 3 hours I’ll get the free entry and then the free ticket through the ad. I’m up to 25 tickets now. I also dropped down a league because of this but that’s ok. I’ve been dominating each opponent. I’ve been winning by 3+ million points every time. But every time it gets to a full streak I will always face an opponent that puts up a good battle. But I’ve still beaten them. Just now I faced an opponent to get a full win streak. His flock power or whatever was less than me. His bird levels was the same. A few were less than me. I’ve crushed stronger opponents than this one. First room and we get around 1,500,000. The 2nd room was pretty equal at around 2,300,000. This continued until what would be the last room. I had 5+million points, my opponent had 4.3million. Their last bird’s level was less than the remaining 2 I had. I had this in the bag. Just like that their score went to 7.5million. WTF? The structure wasn’t even close to being big enough to gain that many points. Plus the bird they had? A level below mine? No. Just no. I figured if they could do it I know I could. Terrance blew right through the first part of the structure. 120,000 points! WHAT? Any other time he gets me over 1 million on similar structures. I used my other bird. I completely destroyed the middle section of the structures. 75,000! I had to use an ad to get a free bird. THAT DIDN’T EVEN GIVE POINTS. I now had 5.6million points. So I used the 60 gems to get 3 birds. The first 2 didn’t even make a dent in the structure, which was bullshit, the 3rd finally cleared the room and I only ended up with 6.4million points. That’s just flat out wrong. It only did this crap because I was going for a full streak. I highly doubt I was even playing a human opponent.

It is just a game…it is not your life..if you enjoy it play… if it upsets you don’t play. We all have our breaking points with games like this and we either adjust and are happy or we don’t…We all know their objective and you can’t let them beat you..I dropped down to Emerald and am so much happier….Just my humble opinion y’all! You can’t control the machine!

Maybe you all already know tjis, but yesterday I discovered that it is possible to lose battle in Arena without losing streak.
For those of you how are not familiar with trick, it is easy… Play to the end of game even you see you would lose. Wathch video and get extra bird, use that bird, wait for offer to continue battle for 60 gems, just tip “x” mark and hard close game. You won’t lose straek, as for ticket, I am not sure, it is possible that you won’t lose ticket as well.

Did anyone come across a streak where the feathers rewards are double of the usual 50, 250 & 500? I played a streak yesterday and the feathers we 100, 500 & 1000. But I didn’t know how it happened. Now it’s back to normal.

O and the guys on top just spend a lot of money on gems to keep playing.
