    Over 24 hours without being able to get into the arena. Are you folks having a big problem or taking the weekend off?
    No disrespect intended but no communication with the end users is very disrespectful on explaining what is causing us not being able to play in the Arena.

    Note that the Angry Birds Twitter account has tweeted twice today so they can’t have taken the entire weekend off. SOMEONE is there…

    They also have an active social media team that made a post yesterday on the AB2 FB page after hundreds/thousands of complaints were made, and not once have they addressed ANY of the issues nor have they given an ETA as to when it will be fixed…..that is replicated across all 3 of their FB pages (angry birds 2, angry birds and Rovio).

    @adbjester – wow, I was happy with my 100 points in my personal league, but 600+ in one day – you are my idol! It dawned on me when I just ran out to Dunkin Donuts, that any of us who had early access will be shuffled into new leagues together so I’d better hit things a little harder if I want a promotion.

    I think I have identified Rovio’s AB2 Arena problem.

    Given the earlier problems of waiting several hours to get back in the Arena after the end of a tournament Rovio has tried to solve the problem with a Server upgrade.

    Since they are using an old IBM PC XT running PC DOS 2.0 they decided to upgrade the memory from 512 KB to the max of 640 KB. Unfortunately, as so often happens, their code was written to expect no more than 512 KB memory and won’t run on the upgraded hardware.

    IBM had this same problem with some of the Microsoft written Compilers back in 1984.

    I guess thst we will have to wait while Rovio figures it out. ?

    They couldn’t care less if we get into the arena. As long as they have some who are able to play and spend their money. The rest of us are surplus. I’m ready to pull the plug if the issue is not addressed soon!

    I just sent this message to Rovio:

    Hey Rovio in case no one has noticed MANY of your customers are not able to enter the arena to even collect their winnings from last weeks tournament. Much less play this weeks! How about a response? We are working on it, or drop dead we don’t need you anyway, anything to show you know about the problem.

    @katydid Both requests I have sent to Rovio (6 weeks apart) have received this reply:

    “Hello there,
    and thanks a lot for contacting us!
    We are aware of this issue and all that we can recommend you at this moment is to reinstall your game (Make sure that your game is connected with Facebook account that your progress is saved in cloud).
    We are trying to fix this issue as fast as possible.
    We are terribly sorry for inconvenience caused.
    We want to send you some Gems a recompensation for your loss.”

    Very genuine and individualized. I hope you receive as customized and sincere a reply.

    Well it is now Monday, 7:10am in Finland, so I am guessing that within the next hour or 2, staff should be arriving at Rovio HQ. So fingers crossed this Major Issue gets addressed shortly :/

    I couldn’t get an answer of any kind! Glad you at least got one.

    I will not be deleting and reinstalling my game as it’s not my issue it is on their end.

    Since you’re bragging about being in the arena and competing against nobody, I already have all the Cowboy Hats with 8,510 black pearls still to spare. I’ll be getting 300 more once they fix this bug. No, I’m not cheating. Where as you are taking advantage of this bug, I have taken advantage of another.

    Sorry for not being clear @katydid, my reports have been for a slightly different issue which Rovio has still been unable to resolve – although they do change my complaint status to “solved” – meaning ‘we’ve paid you off, so we’re good.’ Replies can take 3 -10 days and always follow the script of acknowledge the ‘issue’ (but don’t mention the specific fault in writing), apologize for the inconvenience, pay (with irrelevant gems), and wish you will keep playing. I wouldn’t suggest anyone uninstall/reinstall as this is their problem and this approach has never fixed any other issue for me.

    I am simply interested in how many times they will have to use this customer complaint resolution script to respond to the plethora of conplaints this time.

    @deaftalk it sounds like we both might have figured that one out (heheh). I also now have a couple of others ‘bugs’ that I figured out that I plan on taking full advantage of until they fix them, and additionally address many of the issues we have raised in this thread over the last 10+ pages.

    @deaftalk Taking advantage of GameGuardian hacks via rootkitted phones, and other config file editing isn’t cheating? (That’s the only way anyone could have 8K+pearls, since they haven’t been available that long….)

    Actually you can get them without editing anything, nor do you need a rooted device, nor do you need any 3rd party hack.

    Additionally playing across multiple devices gives you another opportunity as well.

    So whilst you may think the way you described is the only way, I can think of two other ways that work without any hack / root or edit.

    Lol…or there are exploits in the game that you haven’t figured out. I haven’t taken advantage of any hacks, just AB2 exploits.

    And I have 8k+ pearls after already buying all the hats and getting the Azure Sling as a result.

    @deaftalk @chucky-2 I figured out that bug too. While I don’t have 8k black pearls (I don’t play THAT much and I missed DC past two weeks) I have all hats and 3k black pearls.
    I play on iPhone and iPad without jailbreak and for my 250 dollars invested in game I have endless spells and costant amount of gems.

    I used to spend money (although not that much!) as well @cosmo2503 but once I noticed hundreds of other users seemingly having thousands of arena tickets, upgraded slingshots, and unlimited spells it dawned on me I must be missing something.

    So 2-3 months ago I happen to resign from work (long story but not angry birds related lol…but I plan on taking 6-12 months off) and whilst I have been enjoying my time off, I decided to figure out what I was missing out on in AB2. About 2-3 weeks ago, when Rovio stopped addressing all of our concerns I thought now was the time to figure it out.

    Let’s just say, having your game across 2 devices is a HUGE benefit (for pearls/spells and arena lives).
    Additionally even if you play on one device, there is still a bug for the pearls and also the spells (as posted about by someone earlier in this thread)

    But that is all I will say on that topic.

    Edit: Rovio has finally admitted there is an issue….

    Many players have been experiencing connection problems in the Arena and we are working hard on resolving this issue. We will let you know as soon as we have a fix in place. In the meanwhile we’d like to thank you for your patience!

    Finally, Arena “connection error” issue is solved. It is 10.28 AM CET.
