@adbjester – I’ve pointed out the spell exploit on a few occasions. Basically if you never return to the map after using spells from your arsenal in an Arena match or a campaign/DC level, you don’t permanently lose those spells. If you play multiple Arena matches in a row without going back to the map, you’ll notice your spell count going down, but then you can force quit the game, return to the Arena after restarting, and still have as many spells as you started with. Basically, once you’ve somehow earned at least one of each spell, this allows you to use all 5 spells in every single Arena match you play without ever having to replenish them. I figure a lot of players must be doing this due to the high scores I’ve seen (and been able to achieve for myself). Thus far I’ve never been punished for doing this – and heck, I’ve openly admitted to using the exploit in plain view of the Rovio developers who we all complain to on this forum, so if they want to make an example of someone, they can feel free. (It’d be better for them to just fix the darn bug already.)
@krakham – You get one free entry every three hours that is basically “use it or lose it” – it doesn’t count as an Arena ticket. Watching an ad for free entry gives you a ticket that you can use immediately or save for later – so whether you use the free one you’re awarded just for waiting 3 hours has no bearing on the one you get for watching the ad.
Assuming you win every Arena match you play (which is relatively easy using the exploit described above), this enables you to complete a full streak every 6 hours, even without banking any tickets that you earned previously, like so:
Match 1: Free entry
Match 2: Watch ad for free ticket
Match 3: Use ticket won from Match 1
Match 4: Wait 3 hours after match 1, free entry
Match 5: Watch ad for free ticket
Match 6: Use first of 2 tickets won from match 4
Match 7: Use second of 2 tickets won from match 4
Then wait another 3 hours from when you played Match 4 and the whole cycle starts again.
Aside from the fact that I have to work and sleep and have some semblance of a social life, this is basically what I’ve been doing for several weeks now, and even then I’ve been ranking at the low-to-middle end of my group of 15 most weeks. I don’t care so much about the Arena rankings as I do about earning the feathers and pearls – I’m just trying to max out my bird levels and get all the hats.
