About the Angry Birds 2 Arena

This is RIDICULOUS!  The last 5 times I have reached level 7 in the Arena, the game locks up and I must begin again at level 1.  Is this EVER going to be fixed?  I have tried going in and out of the Arena at each level and that didn’t work.  I also tried turning off my WiFi and that didn’t work.  I am now the ANGRY one!

Last week I was in the amethyst league and almost everything runned smoothly. Of course I still had to use spells from 5th to 7th streak, but winning a match wasn’t that hard. This week I was promoted to the diamond league and Arena again is a pain in the as* – I can’t get through second streak and I can’t get free bird because when I push the AD icon, nothing happens. I had same problems three weeks ago, while I was again in the Diamond League. Today I faced a player with FP 344 (mine is 361 with NFL helmets and 343 without it) and I lost. I needed only about 120k points to win, but the AD doesn’t appear, even when I had option to watch video. How’s that possible, could someone explain it to me? Or maybe really the new event and NFL hats really doesn’t matter.

 

Oh and I got one question to Hank from rovio:

Mate, would you kindly already officialy admit, that people in your company are bunch of cheaters, thieves and scumbags who only wants our gems and money? Jesus, your tricks need to be investigate by a consumer lawyer.

The last two days I tried to complete a streak after more than two weeks of not playing the arena and it was a NIGHTMARE!! I couldn’t pass beyond the third match because my opponents kept making really high scores over and over again, even when their FK was equal or lower than mine, I think I did six tries the first day and other four yesterday.

I didn’t use gems because I have the rule of only use them for the last three matches, and even so I rarely use them, but this is absurdly difficult, I’ve never encountered something like this before.

We are 9 colleagues who play regularly and spend an average of $100 per month each. A few months ago, we decided to record and take screenshot of our games, more than 90 videos and hundreds of screenshots. We realize that the way Rovio cheats in order to force you to spend and buy more gems, is worthy of those illegal casinos.
We decided then that this should be known and especially because many children also participate in this game. To this end, we have prepared a series of videos that we are uploading to YouTube, but we are also preparing a formal complaint to the committee responsible for these types of issues in the European Parliament, in order to take measures to prevent parents of minors from the risks of this usurious and cheating game.

I have Tower of Fortune data since the beginning of November. Faithfully once a day, with the Viking and NFL periods.

Anyone claiming normal data distribution in this data REALLY doesn’t understand what a normal distribution is.

Just for fun, I’m also writing a Python program to simulate the Tower of Fortune, with the indicated 25% pig chance. In essence your typical Monte Carlo simulation. Let’s see if 100+ data points from the simulation match reality.

another observation… I feel the mystery points brigade (opponents scoring absurd amount of points at the end) seems to have subsided a lot, only to be replaced with massive points throttling.  You play an even match and yet the last couple of birds it feels like you’re scoring pittance, like tens of thousands to your opponent’s hundreds of thousands.

Arena specific, clans etc not impacted as much. Any thoughts?

Agree. My destructometer barely moves and the opponent’s goes wild. I brought all 5 spells, faced an opponent 30 FP lower and had to spend 180 gems to win streak 7

There is few things I notice playing last three months AB2 Arena:

– no matter what is your Flock Power – your opponent destructometer fills quicker than yours in relation to points earned by destroying structures

– I had game frozen after game 7 a couple of times (5 times out of 90 I’ve been to 7th opponent)

– like everyone I get in game 5, 6 and 7 opponents with higher flock power (30-70 more on average) or more recently slightly higher (15-30 FP) but loaded with spells.

 

But with today update there is more:

1) we can see real rank of the player which is our opponent – if he has better ‘frame’ that means he plays frequently and win more

2) there is just slight chance that you would go beyond 6th opponent without using gems

3) you don’t get the same row of birds as your opponent – so if get bad birds at first room – you are in deep sh….

 

Just have a look at mine opponent (picture below):

– he had his FP 30 higher than me

-> that goes for about 4 million points of difference if we hit every structure the same way -> that means that I had to clear 1,5 room more than him to win

– he had 4 spells with him – I brought 5 with me, though I had no chance, because…

– in the first room he got Terrence and cleared it with ease for 4,5 mln, and I got Terrence after using 2 other birds and cleared the room with astonishing 3,5 mln

 

 

So to sum up, Rovio again tweaks their algorithm to take more gems/money from players….

or as they would say “they are creating more realistic gaming experience….”  NO COMMENT :)

Rovio has now taken the gems on your device and put them on their server. I play on two devices. On one device I only had 69 gems and on the other I had saved 92000 gems since the inception of the game ( about 4 years) When I played yesterday after the newest update and logged in with my second device it took away my 92000 gems and put the 69 gems on my second device. I’m beyond angry to say the least. I’m definitely not going to let it go. Rovio spends too much time trying to catch so called cheaters instead of improving the game. They have created an environment that promotes cheating. I will certainly look for all of the exploits now. As careless as Rovio is I’m sure it won’t be too hard to find their weakness.

This has probably been asked (and answered) many times: What is the significance of the color and design of the frames that surround my flock?  I see lots of different ones and gather that it’s related to FP or progress but what is the real explanation?

I had interesting game in the arena today. 7th streak – guy with about 5-6 FP ahead of me with 4 spells, so I took all five spells. At the end of the match (I was already loosing) I stayed only with Golden Ducks spell. So I used it but immediately after that game paused with loosing screen and AD Icon and bonus birds for gems. The spell barely make any damage. After watching AD and getting free bird game continued just like ducks making damage to the end. Is this crap predestined to make you loose from very beginning? Of course I lost.

There is a new cleverness of rovio in the arena: if in the last stage and using all your spells you manage to take advantage of your opponent, the game frozen and you lose. To return to play and finish, you simply pay 60 gems, or you lose all your progress in the game.

You can now bring spells into clan battles.

However, judging from the extremely narrow results of my clan and our opponents, the scores appear to have been manipulated to a great extent. It can’t be that most scores are within a very narrow score range regardless of player flock power… This makes the game more competitive in theory, but not when you’re scoring the same with or without spells.

There’s two dozen players within a 2M point range. And max scores by the super good players aren’t stellar either.

If you use spell in the battle of clans, your score goes down immediately.
Rovio improved the game but for his benefit: nowadays it is almost impossible to finish the Arena without spending a minimum of 60 gems.

In the final stage of the daily challenge, you can hit boss as many times as you want without suffering the slightest damage, buy more birds and miracle!!! at the first blow he dies.

They added the little pigs that always stay alive even after an explosion, which forces you to spend an extra bird to eliminate it, and forces you to buy more birds in the end. Not everyone has a level of 500 or more, which allows them to earn birds more easily.

AngryBirds 2, has become a dirtier and more tricky game than it used to be, that simple.

Yeah, I noticed the spell improvement in clan battles…tried taking 3 spells and got my worst clan battle match ever.

Tried again with no spells and got to number one on my clan rating.

Everything about this game is now a gem drain. I don’t cheat, glitch or spend a single cent on this game. Keeping up is a feat in itself.

I took all five spells and got score 12M points better than at my first attempt, the one without spells. In both tries I stayed at first place. Anyway, I don’t like the idea with bringing spells to cvc. Yeah, this game became worse than ever.

The situation with last room at 7th streak that I mentioned few posts earlier, happened to me on the map level today. But that was really, really unfair what Rovio did to me. Last room at one of gravity level (over 960), no birds so I watched an ad and got bomb one. I needed to pop two pigs – one was on last, third gravity pod at the edge; the second one stayed over the first one at wooden platform with tnt on two ballons. I slinged my bird and detonated it slightly below wooden platform so all that crap felt down almost at the first pig. Almost because in that moment game paused and I was welcomed by loosing screen. I payed 60 gems and miraculously fallen crap got rid with two pigs and I didn’t need to use three bonus birds. Stage completed.

ROVIO, DO YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO EXPLAIN TO ME? TO ALL OF US?

I add to your experience:
Chuck that bounces off the wood at full speed.
Silver using his powers, bounces off the rock.
Blues that can’t do the slightest damage to the ice.
Bomb that explodes in the head of a little pig and this one stays alive.
This happens preferably in the last stage and when one of these is all you have left or when you start the game with more than 3 spells.

On the other hand, today I am informed by one of my friends, who was contacted by a Finnish Member of the EU in response to an email, that they had received the dossier and that it would be added to an existing dossier sent by Germans and that it contains the same type of complaint.

Juan, Thank you for your post.  I thought that maybe I was imagining things when I activated Silver against stone and wood and he just bounced off.  I kept thinking that maybe I activated too late or maybe I had tapped the border of my iPad instead of the screen.  I’m glad – kind of – to know that maybe it wasn’t my fault.

Strange one, but I just finished the streak and expected to get 1500 feathers, as it was displaying earlier today (and I’m pretty sure that 1500 was up for grabs when I started #7), I only received 750. Also the amount of feathers on offer are all half of what they used to be, 75 after round 2 and just 300 after round 5.

Someone else posted a screenshot recently with the same numbers, is this the new norm? Does the half rewards kick in after reaching certain flock power or rank (I’m 301 and 49 respectively)?
