    If you hit level 90 of the tower every single day, that would suggest you have a rather infinite supply of gems, because every such climb, assuming basic probability rules still apply in the ToF (lolz) would mean you’ll hit around 20 pigs. After the first few I think each pig is 2000 gems or some large number. I’m not sure most players could cope with spending 1000-3200 gems a day on ToF, let alone many multiples of this. You do win gems on the way, but not enough to replenish pig gems.

    So, how does an average player get to the point where they have six or seven figure gems? Unless my math is wrong, of course. I saw some guy on YouTube with 83M gems… (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-LnvrH_blM) The guy had Matilda at level 1 while fielding 83M gems…. His run to level 90 gave about 12000 gems, but that’s 4 pigs’ worth, so not likely the millions of gems came that way…

    1) Having climbed the tower daily, and tracked how many pigs I hit, I assure you, the tower is indeed random.

    2) You will not hit 20 pigs (on average) on the way up. Of the 90 rooms, 19 of them have no pigs. Only 71 rooms have pigs, and the odds are truly 25% per floor. You’ll hit about 18 pigs to reach the top, give or take.

    3) The progression in pig cost is: 20, 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, 1600, and then 3200 for each one after that. 18 pigs will cost 38,370 gems.

    4) The guy with 83 million gems was likely playing on a jailbroken device, or an Android. It’s a common exploit, easily Googled (try “unlimited gems Angry Birds 2” as a search term). I, however, have not hacked the game or jailbroken my iPhone. I do not have millions of gems on hand. In fact, I currently only have about 43,000, all earned or paid for.

    5) I *do* pay for gems. I buy the $10 letter every month, as they are the cheapest gems out there (about a third the cost of buying them in bulk), though it takes time and discipline to save them up to the point where they can be useful.

    Thank you for the explanation! it makes sense. I will only add that in my experience at least, the odds of hitting a pig are far higher than 1 in 4 in levels where pigs are present. I don’t recall many times where I have not encountered a pig before level 4, even fewer times where I made it to 10 or 15 with no pigs, and so on. Highest I;ve ever been has been 45 or so, but it was rather costly.

    Thanks Yue, I’ve tried this and it doesn’t work.
    It takes me straight to the game and the name I’ve been allocated .
    I was MADMIKEF with a personal photo , and then Rovio changed it .
    I’m now BEAKY FALCON with one of the AB2 avatars.
    They’re more interested in users buying to play than the kind of service they should provide alongside.
    It’s not good enough!

    lol there are some tricks i do regularly but this is for pc version bluestacks i don’t know about mobile platforms.

    For gifts i send them to myself i’ve several facebook accounts so when i earn a gift i choose my other fb account as a friend and send it there at the end of 1-2 months i re-install the game and connect to my other facebook account and my progress is get synced automatically then i get the rewards i sent to that account earlier.

    and once you reached the lvl 7 stage for 1500 feathers you can keep getting that 1500 feathers without reaching to the lvl 7 again,to do this you need cabinet file explorer program installed for bluestacks and in cabinet program go to com.rovio.baba/files/save after you reach the lvl 7 in arena just copy paste the ”save” folder then after you win the 1500 feathers close the ab2 and delete the original save folder than replace the ”save” folder you copied earlier to it’s original location again and when you open the game again you’ll have an arena lvl 7 progression again so you can earn another 1500 feathers.

    for the tower i reached to the lvl 90 for 30-35 times,by deleting and replacing ”save” folder each time i hit a pig i close the ab2-delete the save folder and copy the old save folder before i hit pig and i open the game again and choose another card…in tower you don’t have 1 in 4 chance it’s programmed to give you pig no matter what card you choose…sometimes i replayed the floor 44 and got 8 pigs from choosing different cards and sometimes no matter i do i don’t hit a pig…but in total whenever i play to the floor 90 i always hit more than 50 pigs.

    to play daily challenges i go to settings and change the time to 1 day forward and play again with this method you can forward time up to 2 months after that it’s not allowed to change the time forward in bluestacks as it gets auto sync to the current time…to fix this just delete the save folder in com.rovio.baba and start the game again and you can forward time 2 months more.

    Most of the arena opponents are beatable with using 1-2 spells or none but most of them are programmed to score the same when you play with them again for me they’re bots for real players they come with unique facebook pics and unique cards and spells so there’s no knowing how well or bad they could score against you.

    I think you are having the same problem I used to have. Have you tried going into the level map, picking a level, and “connect to Facebook” before actually playing the level?

    Thanks Mike!
    I’d been trying to change things whilst playing the Arena..
    Doing what you suggested worked fine, although now Facebook won’t let me change my name to MadMikeF , which is my ABFriends nickname and works well in ABF
    Somebody always has to make things more complicated than the need to be!!.

    Finally decided to try the arena again, and did good and made it to the end of a streak, which would have allowed me to level up a bird. Then I got screwed.

    Very first bird knocked a micro pig into a spot so far from the slingshot that there was no way to toss Matilda or Bomb far enough to blow him up, and due to terrain, nothing else could hit him. Only spell I used was Golden Duck (I have like 300 of the dang things) and piggie was so far away, none appeared over it. So thanks to that BS, ended up losing my last ticket, and my win streak.

    Later, tried to start over, first guy I encountered went from 8 million on his first bird, to 30 million on his second. Before I could shut down the game (I refuse to play with a cheater) he was over 50.

    Guess its back to not even trying the arena because the garbage never changes.

    A glitch in my league’s matrix this week. Basically an apathy league, I’m in 2nd place with 280 points, 3rd place has 50.

    First place is heading for 1000 points but each time I go in, the name and avatar has changed, always with a a full set of steam punk hats.

    For those moments when you wonder if you’re playing against robots . . .

    Two interesting observations…

    1. The 250 gems for a shot at the ToF is gone from my screen. Now it opens up once a day, and the odds have returned to their abysmal self. This week 4 of 5 times I hit pig in 2nd level. While 250 gems was available the odds were a lot better.

    2. The mystery points brigade is alive and well. How does someone do 5M points with 5 birds and another 10M with his last two (plus an extra). I mean, it’s doable, but the kind of player that opens with 5 birds for 5m is not likely to find his mojo later on…

    AggieGuy
    @aggieguy

    Mystery points brigade, I’ll have to remember that one. I see that a lot. Player has a low number of points, then has a 10 to 15m point jump. I had one the other day who was showing ZERO until I was down to two birds, and suddenly he was at 9m and then 13m in about 20 seconds. Perhaps that guy was just on a really bad connection.

    Now granted it might be simply a glitch, but it’s annoying as can be, especially when you lose at the very end when the point jump happens.

    Level 90 ?
    Tower?
    What are you talking about?
    I play several times daily with unknown adversaries ( many I think don’t actually exist)
    Rovio want you to spend your money buying “credits” which are worth bugger all when they can program how the game is played.
    Haven’t you ever wondered when you get to critical levels, 4 for extra lives and 7 for a big bonus , that your opponents suddenly appear to have extraordinary power??
    They try to con us all!
    Don’t fall for it!
    If you’ve got skill you can work your way up through the ranks without forking out anything, and I suggest that’s what you do!

    Some general observations about the arena. To start with, I run the gamut from opponents who are terrible to those whom I can’t beat unless I spend a bunch of gems. I don’t hoard my gems, I use them. But if they’re blowing me out of the water, I don’t suspect I’m playing a bot, I suspect that it’s a cheater. I would suggest sending the opponent’s name to Rovio. They should delete the recorded play of anyone who cheated. (More on that in a moment.)

    Of course, some times its obvious who has been cheating — you get an opponent with a flock level of 4 zillion and a solid platinum slingshot, but he/she can’t score 30,000 points per bird. :)

    There’s supposedly some kind of glitch that you can use involving backup, then restore, and so on, to improve your score in the arena and your luck in the tower. I don’t bother with stuff like that, but that also explains some of those who have zillions of gems.

    Second, I’m sure most of you realize that you’re not playing the arena in real time. You’re playing a “recording.” The best proof of that is to pause the game and come back the next day; it’s right where you left it. No human opponent would put up with that. Also, if you run out of cards while the opponent still has several, the opponent’s cards disappear very quickly — almost as fast as his/her score can go up. No one can shoot that fast.

    Third, some here have complained about players who score millions of points on the first few birds. Given that you’re not playing in real time, how do you know that the “recorded” game is of the same level layout? You don’t. You might be playing the water-and-flowers layout while the recorded opponent played the green slime conveyors.

    Oh … just for record, I used to play under Dash Baconbuster (the handle I use here), but I’m currently playing as Soar Baconbuster. I restarted the game from scratch (for reasons that I’ll discuss in a different thread).

    In the past couple of days I had some weird experiences in the arena.
    Since the new card levels were released, especially after epic amethyst, I was matched up quite “strange”.
    On the one hand, I get opponents like this: (I was actually not surprised by the flock power itself, but by the higher level AND the use of spells)

    IMG_8748.PNG

    …while on the other hand, I get opponents, that have a much lower level, even well below 400 (most of them are using spells). While I won’t complain about that, I find that quite a bit irritating, beause it feels like there has been another change in the match-up.
    The biggest challenges are still players on an equal level without any spells. If I end up only getting 5 stars, it’s not such a “weird” opponent.

    Does anyone else feel the same way?

    There’s also a hack on Android and open source devices (and on jailbroken iPhones since Apple has everything else locked down) where you can just pop xxx,xxx,xxx,xxx gems in your account via the stored game files and be on your merry way to the top of the tower.

    The arena first match was some guy with a flock power of 20 higher! In what world is that considered fair? Rovio has turned into money hungry pigs!

    Depends on what your flock power is. 20 against 40 is certainly not fair, but 420 against 440 is.

    cognitive
    @cognitive

    It’s not fair because more often than not, the guy who’s 20-40 points below you ALWAYS plays his best game (20M out of 7 birds, no spells) while you bring your average game, plus get to deal with immortal pigs and the like. Add to that the mystery points brigade issues and it’s not as fair as one may think.

    If Rovio’s interested in convincing me it’s fair, show me the video of my opponent actually playing the entire same identical room, bird by bird.

    Epic Buttstomp
    @hubert-lo

    Given Arena requires internet access to play, I like to actually go against live opponent. The resolutions on the modern devices should be good enough to have a portion of the screen showing what the opponent is doing. If my connection is lost during the game, I guess the match will count as a loss for me.

    Very often opponents with higher power play badly. So badly that you wasted your spells and could have gotten 9 or 10 stars with just the plain flocks. And yet you get doubled by some wimps on the next game.

    Katydid
    @katydid

    I’m usually ok using 1 spell on lvls 1-4 ans 2 spells on lvls 5-7. I don’t even try judging my opponents flock power any more since their scorers are so random. The only problem with my system is I always run out of spells

    jo-ha
    @jo-ha

    IMG_8781.PNG

    Do you face opponents using spells more often these days?

    I have one opponent like this in almost every winning streak. While most of the times the matches are not more of a challenge than regular ones I really burn through my spells…

    AggieGuy
    @aggieguy

    I haven’t noticed any more use of spells than normal, but then again I don’t play much.  I did win my last tournament because only three people played and I didn’t even have to put in much effort.

    This week though, forget it.  2 hours after the tournament started, one guy already had over 500 stars.  Second place had 14.  Tapping his name, I see he has won almost 100 tournaments, all 1st place and not a single 2nd or 3rd.

    What I’m tired of is the “mystery points brigade.”  Got screwed by one of them today while I was also busy dealing with a impossible to kill micro-pig.  I was leading 8m to 3m (not a good performance but good enough given the levels) and figured I’d be okay (pig was in a spot only bomb had any chance and all I had was Blue, Chuck, and Red) but all of sudden he went through all of his birds and jumped from 4m to 20m.  About ready to toss my phone across the room.
