btw, GREAT news, guys!! ABM is doing great in the international box office numbers. $43 million so far!!

Awesome! :D I’m glad to hear it.

I just went to an AB Family Fun Day at the McDonald’s across the street from me, and it was PACKED!! There was a coloring contest (I couldn’t partake since I’m not a kid..rats), pictures with characters, and other stuff.

so much fun :D

And now I’m off to see the movie of the year!! :D I got my AB “Bird is the Word” shirt on, AB lanyard with my “Nerdy Birdy” name badge, AB bracelets, etc. I think i’ll put a temp tattoo on my face.

i think mcdonald’s is done with the ABM promotion/toys. My local mcd’s took the toys out and the decorations down :( it was great while it lasted. And I did get 5 awesome toys :)

Yeah, we got some those Angry birds toys from McDonalds almost every day and still cant collect all of them for our young kids.

Rovio have plans for a sequel for The Angry Birds movie:

After several tough years, the Finnish company behind the Angry Birds gaming franchise is finally getting some news that it’s eager to brag about.

The company took the unusual step today of announcing revenue figures for the first half of 2016. And in the process, Rovio officially confirmed that it’s laying the groundwork for a possible sequel to its animated “Angry Birds” movie that was released earlier this year.

“We currently have several exciting new games and other projects in development, including new IP, and we have started planning the sequel to ‘The Angry Birds Movie’,” Rovi CEO Kati Levoranta said in a statement.

1st good thing, they’re making profits. 2nd good thing, they’re developing new projects and games (let’s hope that also old games are developed).

However, they should stop talking about ABM2 for some months. The first movie was released just 3 months ago and the audience is much satisfied with Angry Birds. The sequel, especially worser may cause reversing the situation again. Making should be started around the 1st half of 2017, aimed for the release in the later part of the 2018.

Personally, I’ll be happy if the sequel will be about the Flock moving to the Piggy Island. After ABM, it was the biggest plot hole on the way to the “normal” Angry Birds story.

What will be the next big initiative from Rovio for the Angry Birds brand?

September 2019 is our next big tentpole event with the launch of the Angry Birds Movie sequel. We are building the licensing programme around this one now and talking to toy companies and long leads about this.

Meanwhile, we are really working on hatchlings and the Hatchlings franchise. We have an animated series on YouTube and TV and had the game Angry Birds Match, featuring the Hatchlings launch. We are building the audience for that, so there is a lot happening with them and then end of 2019 is the movie.
