Angry Birds Short Fuse Level 27-8 Walkthrough

One strategy for Angry Birds Short Fuse level 27-8 is to toss the Boomerang bird over the main structure, spinning back below the balloon and into the central tower beyond. The balloon should destroy the top structure upon detonation. Release the left balloon as well to finish the level. The score in the video below is 84,000.

Nice score! That’s a tough one-birder @steviep147! It’s very hard to get the debris from the middle to break thru both ropes under the balloon on the right. It will cut the left rope piece, leaving the wood plank dangling from the right piece of rope. This makes it too heavy and the balloon will not pop while floating under the upper right pig. I got it only once, out of about 100 times. I’m done with this level and won’t be coming back here again ;-)

1-birder Reverse Remy shot: boomerang bird towards the left slightly up then trigger so that it hits the center pig with goggles. It will not get through to the balloon on the right but the stone part can cut the rope. 88940 points

Thanks @Tim — The reverse Remy finally worked for 87080 pts. Can’t tell you how many times I tried. Seemed to work best if you aimed the boomerang bird as high as possible without popping first balloon.

fwiw it’s worth; i in fact used triple r (reverse remi at reduced speed :-) ) to get several 90k+ scores with 91510 as current best. don’t know yet what are the best speed reduction, release angle, and activation time; too many variables. moreover it’s not easy to repeat with your fingers (maybe someone using a tool to point (like a stylus) could do the experiment and test whether speed reduction brings any advantage at all).

1st bird like video, except the first balloon explosion and falling debris, destroyed the pig on lower left side, and released left balloon. Yellow bird into remains of center structure. 86k

thanks to everyone who suggested the “reverse remi” shot! i upped my two-bird 87k score to a one-bird 91,820 using that method (i use an iPhone 5, don’t have a pad) note to anyone trying this method: you have to be fast. fling the bird back and very slightly up, then quickly touch your screen to reverse course. i found the “hot spot” to be the first “knuckle” of the pipe above and just to the left of the yellow bird that is last in line. if you don’t touch the screen to engage the toucan’s forward movement fast enough, it will get caught in the yellow bird jumping into place on the slingshot. after that, you just have to hope that the wood and concrete falls to the right and severs the two ropes holding up the explosive balloon. most of the time it falls left, doesn’t sever anything, or only one of the cords. although it’s possible for the balloon to float up and explode with some wood dangling from the rope, that doesn’t happen very often and requires a lot of balloon bouncing when it hits the horizontal pipe. also note: sometimes you hit it exactly right, both balloons blow and you only end up with 83-87k. you have to get lucky and hope that most of the debris lands in a pile to get the most points.

You can go through the sling for a flatter line if you move yellow out of the way and that gently put him back again. That worked like a charm for a nice 96.9K

Thank you @ernor63 for posting your very cool idea to move YB out of the way and then “gently put him back”! I was very intrigued by this and gave it several tries ;-) I quickly improved several times for scores over 90K. Here’s my screenshot for 91630:

It took a little practice to gently put him back on the sling…I found it quickest and easiest when I kind of rotated him around in a very small circle before letting go of him back to the sling ;-) So cool!!!

I still haven’t managed to get the mushrooms like you did in your screenshot! I just can’t seem to get Boomer to hit hard enough, Urgh! For me, I found I got it more often when I tapped for his “Reverse Remi” just as soon as he left the screen, then QUICKLY moved YB out of the way…Is this how you did it?

@figsy72 After reversing the first bird, and yellow is now in the sling, pull yellow up out of the way, being careful not to release him. Took me a few minutes to figure this out too :) Another simple but brilliant strategy from @ernor63.

Hi Slim, (@AMslimfordy), Do we still have to show a screenshot for scores over 90,000 for this level? If not, can Sal’s first comment please be amended to save confusion.

There’s 55 of us now above 90,000 and I doubt they’ve all given screenshots?? Having said that, ixan57 has a top score of 102,380 with no screenshot in their album – that is none that I can access. Since that score is 5,450 above the no. 2 spot, maybe that one should have a screenshot?

Btw I achieved 90,060 using mostly the video’s method (slight variation was a high lob of YB coming through the top of the left top tier to clean up what boomer doesn’t clear at the bottom). I also achieved my current better score of 90,660 using the reverse remi. Not much difference (score wise) but it does prove you can get over 90,000 using different methods.

Long reverse remi and pulling the yb out the return way is definitely the trick.
Then there is the L factor for breaking the pipe corner to get the 3k worth of mushrooms.

Looks like a great strategy @asher, but difficult to replicate precisely on iPad as the display is much smaller. Even fully zoomed out, the panoramic view you have doesn’t exist. The tall pipe contraption you use as a tapping point is way outside the leftmost screen border and not visible on iPad, so can only guesstimate when to tap. Sometimes Boomer doesn’t even make it back! Anyway, worth persevering, as you got a great score with your method.
