This is our walkthrough video for Angry Birds Rio Smugglers Plane Star Bonus Level #16. The level is unlocked by earning 30 stars in Smugglers Plane. Blast the bottom-left corner with a Yellow bird, then send the White bird as far as possible. Bomb between the pile of crates on the right side and the cardboard boxes in the middle, ricocheting the bird through the two hanging cages. Use Big Brother to crush the tower on the left side, then target the sole remaining cage with a Yellow bird. The score in the video below is 93,600.

1st bird – Shoot into the pile of boxes at the right, you don’t need to get the bird, just want to have fewer boxes left.
2nd bird – Shoot a high arcing White Bird so it comes down just to the right of the first structure, drop the egg between the structure and the card.

This should blow up the structure, the birds on the car, and fling the white bird into the chains on the right, finishing those off. When those drop, it should either get the bird on the right or enough boxes for it to topple.

This got me 79920 with 2 birds left for 99920.

This is the method I’ve been using until I realized that remnants of the first tower can have more than 10K points. Most I got with two birds was 103K and with flinging Terrence to clean up debris improved to 107,790 (currently 850 points behind top score) with room for improvement and consistent scoring of 105K+ (below is a pictorial of one of those runs).

One caveat re: this strategy is that you don’t want the first shot to push cart toward the left tower as the egg needs to drop between the tower and the cart.

Thanks,@fenikus! Tried that strat, and it worked for almost total destruction – only a couple of small crates left. Helped that the apple cart fell to the right for a few extra points.

Thanks to @frozndevl @fenikus @comex666 for the strategy, tips and video. Fun level to play. The challenge was to get the fire extinguisher to activate with the mangoes for the extra points. Think I got it twice but the other destruction was low from the previous birds. As mentioned previously used three birds to get the extra points in the remaining debris on the left side.

Repeatable 100k+ strategy:

Fling first bird at half speed over the first tower. Accelerate into the pile of boxes just above the big cage. This should take out almost all of the boxes and the blue bird, but the blue bird is not necessary.

Second bird at 45 degrees, drop bomb just right of the cart. This will wipe out the cart and drop the chains, and the blue bird if it is still there.

Use Terence to clear the first structure.

Thanks for that @f91jsw Improved my score by 6k:) I actually messed up my first bird & forgot to accelerate so went straight through the top cage and continued down into the pile of boxes which left IMO an easier angle for bomber to do her thing;)

Yes! At first I was using a shallow arc to the far right, but found I got better results shooting yellow up steeply, then driving down into the same box above the big cage. Following birds the same as @f91jsw. I aimed third bird at wood block.

I’ve finished chapters 11 and 12 of Smugglers’ Plane with 3 stars on every level. I have no bonus levels. Need I do something else? I’m playing the PC version purchased and downloaded from Rovio.

Those levels were added on Rio v 1.5.0, which was released for ios and android.
They are not available on pc or mac, yet.

@f91jsw thx for the strat worked great. I actually go after the blue bird first and the rest of the boxes and the big cage
are destroyed with the 2nd shot. That blue bird doesn’t always die after the chain drops on his cage that’s why I targeted him first.

This is how I played this level too ;-) That blue bird rarely dies for me from the chain. It’s easier just to take it out with the first bird.

Another strat to get around 100k: yellow bird into the down left wood of first structure. This collapses completely or is getting weaked. Then white bird in a high arc, drop bomb between pile of boxes and middle structure. Carcas shoots up, destroying the sand boxes. Finish with Terence, who now destroys more debris as when left structure isn’t weakened. Rest of cart now also disappears. 1bird bonus, still some debris left.

I think this is a different approach, if someone else has described it , I apologize

First bird: either straight and fast or high arc, the goal is to remove enough boxes on the right side to have the dark blue bird free on the next shot.

Second Bird: I drop the egg BEFORE the first tower, just to the left of the big crate. This causes some damage there and the white bird will fly up , clip the cage on top of the left tower, and continue on getting the two birds up in the chains, which fall, freeing the dark blue bird

Third Bird: There are sweeter spots then others but throw Terrance basically straight into the left concrete remains. He should hopefully barrel through and destroy lots of debris and free any remaining birds on the moving platform

have gotten 104k, 105k, and finally 107,530 currently 12th :)

@tmax Thanks for sharing your strategy. I managed 109810 for the daily challenge like that.
The first bird went through the cage on top of the first structure and then through the two boxes on top of the second cage with 3 birds in it.
The second bird I did slightly different, dropping the egg on the large crate in the first structure.
Then the third bird straight ahead, to the intersection of the vertical and horizontal stone slabs in front of the hollow stones.
