Our strategy for Rocket Rumble Level #12 is to drop the Bomb bird between the two towers. Then send another bird to the far right, to ignite the detonating cord. The score in the video below is 140,640.

155,830 same as video but try to aim BB so that it falls down into the crate of fruit for better collateral damage. You’re looking for close to or upwards of a 100K after 1st shot for 150K+ scores. How pieces fall after TNT explodes also plays role in getting good or great score. At least for me, this is one of those levels where zooming in (and putting on reading glasses if you’re like me!) is advantageous — BB should barely touch the base of the sling.

p.s. I also experimented with flinging the 3rd bird into remaining clusters of debris that looked like more than 10K but they never were. In other words, if you have a score of 140K, the remaining bird will unlikely improve your score.

I put on my reading glasses, too. I hit the back wall on the straight section. That drops down and lights the underground fuse. Then I hit the top wall fairly low. That drops down between the towers and explodes above the fruit. Not a high score but definitely 3 stars.

But I got 99K at first bird. I think 100K+ possible for first bird.

I had one time 105.7k on the 1st and ended up with 153k so I decided to switch the shots. You’ll see the rope from the left monkey will often drop into middle for extra points ;)I had a high of 47k on the 1st shot so if I do the math that would be 164k with the rope at least for the topscore.

@crivit in that case I agree with you 164-165K is possible, maybe more. I never got 47K after 1st shot like you but just for ha-has I flinged the second one to finish off the front for 47K. Then perfect 3rd shot and I got 153.5K without the rope. The problem with this level is that you can place your shots perfectly but still have no control of the outcome — just need luck so pieces fall perfectly on both shots.

Was able to get 163,260 with this method for today’s challenge of the day. Currently top score but I still think 165K is possible: http://angrybir.de/1d2SFDJ.

Here is a video of a lower score but same method: http://youtu.be/oOXHBNWgY0U. On top score run I think I had 43K after 1st bird plus the rope fell down in the middle and was destroyed by the second bird.

Thanks @crivit for the post and @fenikus for the video. Zoomed out for the first bird to far right wall. Tried for score 42-45k. Zoomed in for the second bird and lined up the body with the sling base. The sequence of destruction pretty much determines the points. Just kept flinging the same two shots and received the present score. Stuck at 157k for a while.

If you lob first bird high and barely hit the cliff, BB falls straight down and explodes at the bottom causing max damage. Don’t hit too high or it will explode before it reaches the bottom.

For the 1st shot I like a high lob at perhaps 80% to 90% strength that just kisses the bottom of the high cliff wall on the way down to drop between the towers and explode dead center of the banana crate. If points don’t total at least 100K+ after the 1st shot I’ll reset and try again ~ I’ve seen as high as 106K which is what I had after the 1st shot when I achieved my 158K score.

2nd shot same as in the video walkthrough and looking for a nearly complete destruction of the front lower structure to expect a 155K+ score. Goal is to see if I can get a 160K score out of the ol’ PC.

I’m off to try the shot switch suggested by @crivit to see if I can get the extra “monkey rope” points that he says can be had with that method. I’ll update the post if it results in a score increase.

@uncle-b makes an excellent point about wanting the bomb to already be headed downward BEFORE you hit the rock wall. That way it makes a smaller correction and falls straight down quickly – has more time to make it to the crate. (I’ve been lobbing at full power but will try his decrease suggestion.)
Same issue when going for the fuse on the far right. Also, if any vertical debris lands in the way it often prevents the bomb lighting the fuse – I reset.
My current problem is I’m not getting more than 42-43k for that left section. Add that to 100-102k for the big section and my score is not improving. I haven’t noticed a difference with the addition of the red rope. If anyone has a hint to get more from the small section please let me know. Good luck all!

@ltcstanley that is good advice…. don’t SPLAT the black bird into the cliff face and watch him drip off…. he should just barely kiss it….

I’d also say that it might be good to detonate black bird JUST before he reaches the very bottom bottom of the crate, due to the rock partially blocking his blast if not.

That said ,luck (which seems to correclate to # of attempts) helps too.

1st Bird between towers to bottom of channel 105,330

2nd Burd: shot off the back wall for another 44,880

a tense moment when was looking at 160k with rope still coming back to earth…. not sure if i even got ANY point when it hit, lol… but maybe a few.

The “Monkey Rope” Sometimes the rope falls to the left section. I tried using all three bomb birds to completely destroy that section. I got scores between 49k and 50k both with the rope being destroyed and without the rope there at all. My best guess is that the rope is worth no more than 500 points. That, however, doesn’t mean it has no effect if it has fallen on the right section before the second shot. It can get in the way and prevent a good second shot, and I think it is likely that (depending on exactly where it is) it could have a favorable effect on how the 2nd bomb bird blows things up.

i think i agree with you…. i think if the question is which shot to do first i would choose to take out the right side first…. not only is it a harder shot, but there is a good chance the debris from the right side damages some stuff on the left side…. much more so then any rope would do….. although that stuff MAY be destroyed on the 2nd shot….it also may not as there seems to always be something remaining on the left side… just my 2 cents

I saw the rope do about 120 points in damage falling on stuff of the right side…. wheather it was damage to the rope or the stuff the rope hit, or both it was impossible to tell…..

I just noticed that the board layout looks like a giant green snake head with it’s jaws open…. fangs and everything….. even a throat which would be the tunnel on the right that you avoid….. there are some really cool weird things that go on with what the boards look like a lot of time…. i really enjoy that aspect of the game… built in clues sometimes it seems, arrows and such…. or even the titles of the episodes… like HAM EM HIGH….. seems like most the boards need a very high lob shot to do effectively….

I just scored 161,620 playing the same way most flingers are. First shot off the lower corner of the overhang, falling into the basket. Second shot off the far right wall, falling to ignite the fuse. After the marmosets took flight, the chain fell down onto some debris, raising my score by 120 points. Happy flinging !!

Worked on this one a long time, just like fenikus strat. Finally got great score. Even with some debris left. Noticed that bouncing high of wall with second bird seemed to result in better damage and points. Don’t know why.
