The Mighty Eagle has finally come to Angry Birds Rio (v1.3.3)! Everything appears to be working now, but the update is making its way around the world, so if you have trouble purchasing it check back a bit later. Some users have had more success trying to purchase the Mighty Eagle from within a level than from the home screen, so give it a shot.
Some information about the v1.3.3 update:
- A separate In-App Purchase is required to obtain the Mighty Eagle in Angry Birds Rio. In other words, if you already purchased him in Angry Birds Classic and/or Seasons, you will have to purchase it again in Rio. In my humble opinion this is to be expected as these are separate apps.
- It seems the 3-star minimum for Carnival Upheaval 8-5 has been raised. It was previously 65,000, but now I have 1 star at 78,000. Rovio did respond to our inquiry saying, “Yeah. That Carnival level limit is not correct. Will be fixed. Sorry about that”. If anyone can find the new limit we are curious (note, it may be impossible).
- New Mighty Eagle related achievements
- If a user can let us know if the Stellarvore bug has been fixed, that would be great.
- Found a tough level? Let us know or put in a request for a video walkthrough in the forum!

Is it working well, keep hearing that it’s not working from some of my friends. I really want to use the Mighty Eagle in Rio, since I’m almost done with the game.
There were some issues for the first 20min or so of release. Haven’t heard any problems since then.

Do you mean the splash screen that says the MightyEagle is a registered trademark of Rovio Entertainment? That’s just a copyright.
No, in Angry Birds Seasons (for example), there is an ad stating “The Mighty Eagle Is Now Available In Angry Birds Rio” when you pause the game in a level. It seems a bit lazy of Rovio to tease us with a product that we Android users cannot yet acquire, and for which (to the best of my knowledge) there is not even a planned release date. As far as I know, ME is not available for any of the games on Android yet, as all of my iPhone-using friends are quick to point out.

Does anywhone know why i cant purchase det mighty eagle in Rio? When i try, it says cannot connect to itunes store. My phone is on Danish, and my english i not that god:)
I would recommend restarting your phone and giving it another try.
Try’it two times- not working:( Have also attempted holding the homa and on/off button for 10 seconds, soo the phone restart- also not working. Do you understand my english:)
Sign out of iTunes manually (as in, go into the iTunes app on your phone and sign out)

What about the free apps?
What’s the point of having something you need to pay for in the free app? And just for a bunch of levels?
Of course you could argue that they can offee ME free on the free versions but probably it’s not in the plans.
I havent been able to purchase the eagle as it keeps saying that i have to buy rio first before i buy the eagle has anyine else had this problem and does anyone know how to fix it?

No on this account and on this phone. Also having this problem with seasons as well all since I updated to ios5.
Try restarting your device and logging out/in to iTunes via the iTunes app on your phone. Otherwise, you will need to contact Apple.

Why does Mighty Eagle always have to be an in-app purchase? Was it not possible to make the new version 1.3.3 with free use of Mighty Eagle for everybody? We also don’t need to pay for newlevels.
Because its only 99¢ and doubles the number of levels in the game essentially.
Hey when you go to the screen with the news you see the Angry Birds Rio Mighty Eagle and behind the back of the eagle it might be a clue on the next Angry Birds Rio Episode and I think it might be called: The Final Battle! And it might have like 60 levels. Well that’s my idea.
I’ve seen the “Final Battle” caption before, but I don’t see it in Rovio News. I see this image in Rovio News — which is the same image Rovio posted on their Facebook page.

i forgot: there is a bug in Angry Birds Rio v1.3.3 where you can’t get 3 stars on Carnival upheaval 8-5.
also on the updates and logs page there is sort of a incorrect release date: 9/23/12 should be 9/23/11 haha
As shown is this post, Rovio will be pushing an update to fix the 8-5 issue. But as a result of this issue, we cannot know if Stellarvore was fixed.
Also I went through and fixed that date in the logs.
When are they going to do the update to fix 8-5?
In the next update, which is probably coming within the next few weeks.

You should go take a look at the AB Rio achievements page. Then, just compare which achievements you have and don’t have. The page can be found at https://www.angrybirdsnest.com/achievements/rio/
Wait, did you count each achievements manually, or did you look at where it sayes 51 out of 58 completed achievements? Sometimes, I have to count the incompleted achievements on my own, but then, it updates after I count it. Or, have gamecenter log on when you are playing AB Rio and maybe, it will find out that you have completed those achievements and update itself in gamecenter.
That’s absolutely correct. With the 4 missing achievements, you will have 55 of 58. That’s what I also have cos 3 achievements are unachieveable at the moment.
And they are secret ones, that’s why they are not listed in Game Center.

Actually, 56 out of 58 are achievable, but Stellarvore appears to be bugged for quite a few people (I somehow got it a long time ago). My understanding is that the two others that are not achievable right now are a score addict achievement for 25 million and a fruit salad achievement (one of each fruit collected), which should be achievable as soon as the next Rio level is released.
Is there a way to get back your data on this? I plugged my phone in and it reset everything. I also had the mighty eagle purchased on each. It got rid of that too.
I don’t understand your question. But you can “re-purchase” the Mighty Eagle for free if you use the same iTunes account as before.
I started a sync on my computer and it got rid of all the stars and feathers.
Does anyone think that if I contact rovio I could get it back? I had almost all the stars and feathers in hamoween. I sat for hours to get one of the feathers.

I lost the stars on all the episodes of every angry birds.
Does anyone know if there is a way to get everything back? I spend hours everyday playing these games. when I saw that it reset I was very angry. I can’t take having do redo all the levels.
Unless you can restore from a previous backup, I’m afraid there’s nothing much you can do. Contacting Rovio will not achieve anything – they cannot modify you’re game’s .LUA files, (the files where you’re highscores, etc, are stored).
well how do you get the mighty eagle for free since I purchased on this phone? I only see 3 buttons. an x, a video, and purchasing it again.
If you already purchased the Mighty Eagle, go through and “re-purchase” using the same Apple ID — you will not be charged. You should see the message “You have already bought this item. Download again?”
sorry to change the subject, but how do you get the achievement friendly fire on rio? Ive hit a bird with another plenty of times. is there a glitch or something? I started playing angry birds 2 summers ago and I still don’t have that one.
Both birds must be in-flight (as in, neither can touch any part of the level before colliding).

Ok, what’s going on with the ME…first 3 (smuggler, jungle, beach) were really easy…now getting harder and I noticed that I already have 1 feather (on #15 of carnival, airfild & golden) and I never even played it yet!?!?!
Carnival is probably the hardest feathers in Rio.
Also, Carnival 8-15 and Airfield 10-15 are the boss levels and super simple to feather.
Yeah, for 8-15 and 10-15 I just immediately hit the Mighty Eagle and randomly threw the can — 100% on each level the first random throw. I was kinda hoping the plane would blow up on 10-15. :(
If that plane blew up, that would be a achievement called, “Oh My God The Plane Crashed”.
After many hours of trying it appears that the new limit is NOT 78,000!!!
Just scored 78,720 and still only 1 star…damn it!!!

Everything done in rio. Except achievements. Says inhave 55 of 58. But doesn’t show ones you need. How see that?
Does the achievement list help?
Yes. It did. Looks like the Stellarvore achievement taken away as a result of the glitch in the rio update. This is the achievement for earning three stars all levels. Level 8-5 now down to one star as talked about in the forum and is a known glitch by Rovio. Explains why only 55 vs 56 out of 58 with two achievements not yet published.

An update for PC version, too, is urgently needed, I think.
I think we can expect one soon, but the Seasons release for PC just came two days ago.
The update we expected on PC has arrived but it has only Airfield Chase levels :( It would be good if it also included Mighty Eagle.
It will be some time before the Mighty Eagle lands for any PC app.
Angry Birds Rio was the best game I’ve ever seen on iPhone.
Then they released Mighty Eagle, and now the game is even better than before.
on the last airfield level and last carnival level u can chuck the can of (IS IT TUNA OR SARDINES?!) for the ME anywhere and u still get the the feather

As Seasons has been released for PC, they will now be looking for some time to release it.
PC should be receiving a Rio update soon. Still no word on Mighty Eagle for PC, though we assume Android will receive it first.

I can’t say anything specific about your device, since I’m not sure if the third-party aspect would affect anything. But Rovio indeed wants to bring the Mighty Eagle to the Android Market in some fashion.
P.S. My tablet runs Android 2.2 FroYo.
