@the-vortex-of-doom — Congrats on the high score! Any chance you’ll tell us how you did it? Even if it’s with the video strat, would be nice to know if you have any additional details that would help.

As per the video, but somehow one of the pig flying saucers denoted low enough to break bits at the bottom. Just a bit of luck, I guess.

125k with a different first shot. Instead of aiming for the top computer, get the floating computer behind the thee spaceships (red can plough through them). Shots 2 and 3 are the same as the walkthrough video.

My shots are a little bit different.

1. Like @burpie Fire through bottom half of first mechpig. The 2nd pig floats up and to the right, 3rd pig stays put. Red continues on to hit floating switch, which triggers the arrival of the two mechpig groups.

2. Let both sets of pigs fly in. Now, find the hollow stone block at upper left, and then find the white wire/pole to its right. Aim Terence at the left side of that thing. That is a sweet spot. Make Terence hit it, and the structure and both upper gate switches will cease to exist.

I make Terence roar just before impact. It’s the perfect soundtrack to his obliterating an entire structure, and it’s fun. Try it sometime.

3. Send Chuck to King pig, but not directly. There should be at least one of the initial three mechpigs left. These guys do not detonate or give 5,000 points at the level’s end. He’s worth 400 points, so hit him and/or higher-scoring debris on the way.

Scoring on this level is weird. I usually get 116-119k. Rarely, I get 120-121k, and 128k once. In every attempt, I saw no difference in damage or leftover debris, so I’m guessing those extra points come from behind King Pig, via lucky explosions and shrapnel hitting stuff.

Sorry @Kelani, I played the level as you described. And like you, I have no idea what makes the difference between 117k and 130k.

A different 5 bird approach for 134,310 so far: http://youtu.be/cvYoX4QWZLg

Seems like a lot of work to send 5 birds but all the shots are relatively easy and very reliable. Average run will yield you 125K easy. 4th bird is sacrificed for the awesome damage bomb bird will inflict and most I could get out of it is 4-5K so if you find a way to make it more efficient, 140K is yours.

@fenikus – thanks for the strat and video! I have raised my original score by over 10k by using more birds as you describe.

@fenikus Is This the strat you used for 139k ? if so where did you find the extra 5k ? or did it just come with repeat?

I’ve been doing mine a wee bit differently but ultimately a mishmash of how the walkthrough and most other peeps are throwing. I also used 5 birds but haven’t yet got the 130k+. I seem to end up with good clearance so don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Anyhoo. Bird 1.Through the pig ship to red flashy computer. Bird 2. Aim for the pig ship which is now resting its head on top structure like walkthrough 3rd shot and @fenikus 2nd shot. The more damage the better here. Bird 3. Aim around 2o’clock and come back down through the 2 pig ships and into bottom right switch (just for points) Bird 4. Straight ahead (depending on debris) then redirect to upper right explosive cylinder behind boss. Only the top half “gates”have opened but it’s passible. Bird 5. Bomb whatever is left of lower structure. Now as I said it’s not that high a score but it’s fairly easy for high 120k’s GL

Like @fenikus, I also used five birds to get my current score of 140k. But I’ve scored 135k using only three with my approach.

1st shot: Aim through the first ship just above midline. This gives you a few extra hundred points over the bottom approach.

2nd shot: Sacrifice the space ship number three coming in from the left. Timing is key. Shoot through him towards the left upper white box continuing on to take out the upper right door controller. If you timed it right, one of the spaceships will get pushed to the bottom anchor chain and the yellow blinking light from the upper left door controller will position itself between the two right spaceships. This light will destroy the far right remaining ship on the next shot. The light is important but not a score ender. Other debris can take out the far right ship.

3rd shot: Avoid the ships and shoot through the claw above Boss Hog continuing on to hit the flux capacitor. If you don’t hit the claw, he will travel left and interrupt the light destroying the far right ship.
*You can score up to 135k with the first three shots*

4th shot: Find somewhere to collect a few extra points, while avoiding the bottom group of “stuff”.

5th shot: Evaluate where the best place to destroy as much of the bottom group as possible with Bomb Bird. Somewhere to the left of or straight into the “stuff”. I can’t tell you exactly where to put him because the spaceship that was resting on the anchor chain from shot two, blew up on shot three and caused damage to the left of the “stuff”.

Not the easiest approach, but definitely repeatable. Timing on shot two is critical. You will need to practice your timing to get the desired results. I think scores over 150k will be achieved on this level. We’re just beginning to scratch the surface of it’s scoring potential.

Good luck flingers. I expect my top score will disappear soon.

@rat9 Thanks for the nicely described RatStrat(R)(tm). I have a question for you.

Is there some reason for making Shot #3 into Boss Pig, instead of #4? Or is that there to show the 3-bird version? On the 5-birder, are you switching shots #3 and #4?. I ask because the last two shots say “Find” and “Evaluate” which is problematic if Shot 3 starts the Level End countdown. Switch #3 and #4 and you can find points all day. :)

Thanks @Rat9, I jumped from 131k to 139k with this approach. Positioning the saucer at the lower anchor on shot 2 makes all the difference. I switched around shots 3 and 4.

Thanks @rat9 I did it your way, except I switched shots 3 and 4. I used shot 3 on the upper anchor area. I shot down into the anchor debris to push as much of it as possible to the area near the ships.

CongRATZ @stocktoad. I expected to be beaten long before now after I released my strategy. Once you get the timing and position on shot two, it’s very repeatable for high scores. Don’t get too comfortable with top score though. I’d wager there’s an even better approach yet to be found that will take us into the 150k’s. Even you weren’t satisfied with my approach and switched shots three and four. ha ha
