There seems to be a lag on this level between when you activate the egg and where it goes. Specifically, if you activate it in the exact direction you want, it behaves as if you’d activated it slightly earlier. very frustrating.
Im having the same problem @mvnla2 it’s very frustrating:( how did you overcome it ?
@Kathy — The only thing I could do was wait a very small amount later than I thought I should activate. Lots of trial and error. More I think than without the lag.
Thanks @mvnla2 I ended up aiming just a tad bit higher..it slowed the ice rock down but it hit just the same:)must be a difference of platform.
@mvnla2. I think the eggs have a center of force that is somewhere between the top of the egg and the tip of the egg’s antenna. This “theory” has helped my aim a bit
@all @mvnla2 What you experienced on this level isn’t lag, it’s increased randomness in the iceteroid-egg interaction. These iceteroids behave differently than any I’ve seen. I was getting such crazy variations from similar shots, I put this one through the tester.
Using @Furfeather‘s strategy, I let a 1-egger shot repeat 100 times. The iceteroid ranged from flying left of the anchor-planetoid, to hitting right of the white box on the structure’s angled bottom. Attempt #85 was the only 1-egger of the bunch. My guess is the iceteroid’s outgassing affects trajectory. Since these are huge, they’re affected more. Or, Rovio could’ve made these more random to make the level challenging. All I know is, I’ve never seen such crazy rocks on any other level. :)
@kelani — The lag I was talking about was in relation to the direction the egg took when tapped. It seemed that the egg didn’t respond to the tap immediately, therefor going further left and missing the icesteroid completely.
Interesting results though. I assume you shot and detonated the egg at exactly the same time after restart?
BTW — Did you know that there is a very old forum in which a bunch of us debated whether there was any randomness intentionally inserted into the code?
@mvnla2 Ah, well that would be lag, then. :) I get a bit of that on ipad when it’s been too long between restarts. Anyway, yes, everything about the tests are identical on each run, down to 1 pixel and 1 ms resolution.
I wasn’t aware of the old forum, but I’ve seen a few old posts on that subject in the walkthroughs. From what I’ve seen in other games’ code, I think several variables (gravity, bird mass, pieces mass, etc.) have a defined range on each level. Every reset randomly sets each variable somewhere within that range.
114010 = 2*
116110 = 3*
3* is either 115k or 116k
115k. I have 115730 and three stars
I sent the egg at half speed to give me more time selecting the activation point; the ice rock hit the boulder cluster at the bottom of the anchor chain and exploded to give me a score of 126430; not brilliant, but I will take it and move on. I’m not a fan of the eggs as I can rarely aim them properly; my fault, not the eggs!
Outstanding tip! I thought I was losing my mind, but that worked!
I sent the egg to the last ice ball (bottom left) instead of the one on the right, and pulled it up to the boulders above it. Result was a chain reaction similar to the video.
Thank you @furfeather! This works so much better.
Even though my score isn’t great, I’ll take it.
And, the chance of getting a chain reaction is so much better this way, it is much more satisfying.
I am so right/left challenged. That should be bottom right.
Thanks @furfeather — Got comfortably above average for now (127K) using your strat. To reiterate: you mean the furthest right ice ball, and you pull it up to the 2 furthest right rocks.
Yes @mvnla2, that’s correct.
I should just drop right and left from my vocabulary, I mess them up so frequently.
Thank you @furfeather !! I was losing my mind trying to get this one and using the left (correct left) was unable to get anything close to 3*. It took just a few tries with your method to get there!
Now if only I could understand how S-22 really works, I would be in good shape. It has me boggled even after reading the strats!
I should post about my frustration more often. Just after posting the above I got 3* on S-22!
132,410 …Persistance Prevals
I preferred aiming at the third ice ball.
I’m playing on both my iPad & Android phone with vastly different results. Following the video, on only my 2nd iPad fling no less, everything blew for 132920, currently holding número uno for the last 48 hrs or so. I’m still stuck on 2* on my Android phone :-(
I tried the ice ball on the left multiple times and could only get to 118K, but after a few tries on the farmost right one, got to 129K.
Same strategy as video got me current top score just after a few attempts.
i got some trouble with Beak Impact. I get all stars on Chapter 1, but the second chapter did not unlocked. I take the pic if you didn’t believe. To admin of this web, can you help me?
Replay level 8-20, and hit the next button when done. It should take you to Part 2 of Beak Impact.
@sal9 i was try more than 3x, and it didn’t unlocked too
If my replay score not beat my first score, and get 2 star? Will be not locked?
@dewa-rf To unlock Part 2, you must 3-star levels 8-1 through 8-20.
please open the AngryBirdsNest facebook fanpage. I posted on your wall
Same strategy as video just got lucky after countless flings
So surprised that I missed the screen shot, there were a few tiny fragments remaining but not many
High score 133620

@comex666 are you sure that score is entered on the correct level on the leaderboards? Did you perhaps mean to enter it on S-21 ?
joh, i have changed the right points, sorry……
thx for post @kathy
No problem @comex666 :D ive made the same mistake before.
Just like video, but with the egg very close to the left icesteroid before ignition.
@dirgis
In order to keep the leaderboards as reliable as possible, would you mind providing a screenshot for your top score here, as well as in the other levels where you have top score (there are many!)? I am not questionning any of your scores, but I think it is better if we have a top score proof for every level. TIA
Sure thing @Sglouk. I prefer providing strategies for top scores, but here is the picture:

Agreed. If there is no tally screen or perhaps a video to show a top score then there will always be some doubt. There are already more than enough. Thankfully the daily challenge has the correct procedure in place; no tally screen shot no puppy.
Fire, set, fire, reset… Crazy difficult to get the bottom left iceteroid to go where I want it to go AND to destroy everything in one shot.
RNG! Anyway the egg has a mind of its own. I have used the aiming and trigger points every time, which is easy enough to do on BlueStacks. The results vary every time. R and R. GL
