Angry Birds Rio Playground Walkthrough Level #3

Our non-Power Up strategy for Playground Level #3 is to speed one Yellow bird into the wooden structure above, dropping boulders onto the marmosets below. Fling one more Yellow bird into the wooden structure that remains. The score in the video below is 99,030.

Important Note: Gamers on mobile devices are given unlimited Power Ups in the Playground episode, to practice and hone their skills. However, since not all devices are given this option, please abide by our policy of NO Power Up scores on ABN Leaderboards. Questionable scores entered without written strategy may be removed.

1 bird. Up to the top right. Hit it low so the rocks fly farther to the left, taking out the first structure.

1 birder, upper right structure. Stones fell further left than normal and got everything.

One bird.
Yellow must hit up the mountain side and impact exactly where the wood horizontal and stone vertical meet (actually just under this).
This allows the wood horizontal to tip over and the stones above it will spill further to the left than they would otherwise.
If lucky, one of the stones will break the wood horizontal over the bottom left chimp.
If this happens the whole left side structure can collapse, yielding a one birder.

Got a 1 birder, just like you described. Just not as good a score. 113k

I was doing like @playdbird above, but my scores were usually around 112k, WHEN I managed a 1-birder. My best was 114k

Frustrated, I then tried aiming for the square block. Hit from the right angle, the vertical block above will drop down, then push the stones over to the right. I had more consistent 1-birders this way, and I finally got above 114k.

I am only at 115k now, but I am liking the second trajectory better.

I find it quite frustrating to see the stone blocks, especially the big one, disintegrate from falling through the air – without even a hint of a contact to anything…

What has worked best for me (PC) is to hit the large block; if fortunate, the vertical small board will stay together – ‘landing’ on ‘Chuck’/Yellow bird. Depending on Chuck’s rotation/position when the board *falls* toward the left – Chuck & the board (together) act as a ‘springboard’ for the rocks — & when they get far enough, scores are more fun. Cheers :-) _ Rogue
