Angry Birds Rio Hidden Harbor Walkthrough Level #5

Our strategy for Hidden Harbor Level #5 is to use two Yellow birds. Fling the first underwater, aiming for the TNT on the extreme right side of the level. Then drop the helicopter onto the main structure to finish off the marmosets. The score in the video below is 185,150.

One birder strategy. Same first shot as vid (yellow bird underwater to TNT on far right) but timed so that the explosion catches the helicopter. Timing: fling bird when the copter hits the left end of its path and starts back to the right. With a bit of luck the helicopter explosion results in a piece of it flying into the TNT in the middle of the leftside structure.

Thanks for the timing tip @furfeather, it was perfect! 197k with a few pieces of debris.

That’s the timing I discovered too. The critical part (as best I can discern) is the “starts heading back to the right” aspect. After that, it’s all left up to luck and debris.

For me this is the best strategy too. I mostly found that, as the helicopter moves back to the right it is tilting up. Wait until it tips back & the blades at the top are more or less horizontal, and then fling yellow under water as in video. Often this will blow the TNT under the helicopter and send the fuselage into the TNT in the middle.

@peejaydee27 thanks that tip helped alot waiting for the copter to level out to horizontal made a great difference in the landing;) not quite as good a score as yours but little practice I’ll get some more hopefully need some luck added;)

Another great idea by @peejaydee27; at least I’m above average now with my iPad’s 190220 1-birder. I’m actually surprised I’m having so much trouble with this execution, but either malicious marmoset on far right survives or right side collapse is just a tad off in timing & helicopter is only damaged. It wobbles looking like it will crash, but it doesn’t …. patience, I need more patience to see if eventually the copter will putter out & fall down, but I’m thinking not : -(

Any suggestions for the mighty eagle in this level? I can’t find the solution on the nest and I can’t get past 99%.

@Zosete – I believe you need to get all the boxes on the extreme right side for 100%. Took them out with Big Red then called the Mighty Eagle. Worked for me any how.

@SweetP found self-destruction on this level: TNT and marmoset hanging from plane explode in <1 min, ~1/5 times for 6K. Has anyone seen any additional destruction? Plane becomes very erratic after explosion, but so far I haven't seen it crash.
BTW, while writing this saw explosion at more like 2min!

@mvnla2, I saw it happen at other random times up to 2 minutes but on the average it was within the first minute. I still haven’t seen any other self-destruction.

Actually the flying helicopter’s main shaft will break on its own in flight and the chopper will drop. I have had it destroy the right half of the center structures as well as the grounded helicopter without flinging a bird. 20 minutes to more than an hour. I feel a no shot result is possible but very unlikely but I also have had the tail section fall onto TNT in center of that same structure without setting off the TNT… SO I keep trying!

And then it happened… I’m sitting at 132,270 with 2 marmosets the on ground in front of the running grounded helicopter with crates to the right and 1 main TNT and everything else everything else is gone. I HAVE NOT FLUNG A BIRD YET!

I think I’ll wait to see if the second helicopter shaft breaks because this could be a new high score if it does.

I’m a relatively new bird flinger working my way up the ranks using my wife’s old phone with a cracked screen, wifi only at home. I have enjoyed trying to go through the levels myself first and then coming here to see strats and tips, and it warms my heart when I see one EXACTLY like I figured out on my own! Especially when I get above average on my third shot at a level.

wait til the helicopter is swinging on the left end of the path, toss under the structure to the gap, and watch all the shtuff fall on the copter and destroy the whole level.

I don’t know if i’ll ever hit the fenikus level of play, but i’ll keep on flingin and tryin!
