Golden Beachball level 5 is a bit challenging. Our strategy is to the bottom of the bottom-left structure. Fire the White bird into the newly-created gap, bombing the marmoset at the bottom and ricocheting the bird through the second set of sand blocks. Lob the Yellow bird through the left sand block supporting the last suspended marmoset and onward into the right structure, causing the whole thing to topple. The score in the video below is 140,470.

finally got 129960 ! using all birds
same as video but i used the last bird to destroy more wood
I started doing it like the walthrough, but got 132,310 using an alternate method. My way might be inferior. First I sent the yellow bird across the very top, breaking that board and killing the top monkey and the one below it. You need a clean platform in the very center of the structure. Drop a white egg onto it. If done right, you can take out all monkeys except the left 2, which you get with your next bird as in the video.
I have never struggled so much to get three stars in any level but this one. And the way I did it was to use your method, so thank you.
This level is one of the hardest ever to get three stars. I tried the video method for hours but never got more than 125.something. Finally, using your method, I got 128.350 so I got rid of that pesky two-star score.

Hard level… But not impossibly so. Found it challenging to kill all the monkeys, much less 3 star it.
141380 using same method as video… One bird left over. Took about an hour.

Well well well.. when I started this episode, level 5 was the only one i was stuck at for a bit to even get 1 star. So no surprise this is the last level I have to 3 star! currently stuck at 126450 points!!! I wont give up ;)
Finally- 128,590! Hardest level for me. It took less time to get three stars in the other 14 levels combined than it took me to get 3 stars on this level alone. Even though I got all the marmosets many times over, I just could not do enough damage to break 127,000. Roughly followed as shown in video to get the three star score. Keep trying!
133k i followed the video used all birds fired last to high at a angle first to as video try it worked for me

This is really one of those levels were you must calculate quickly if it´s worth to use your 4th bird after killing all monkeys with 3. My highest scores were always via 4-birder. Anyhow, best results following the video.

This level is Ridonkulus, that may not be a word but i like it. Anyway, I was one busted crate from 127,000. I can’t believe this. I’ve been working and working on this level This level is as hard as most of the Halloween levels, they were hard too. I’m shedding a tear at the moment. :(…………0 that 0 is a pool of tears.
Finally 129700 three stars! I know that ain’t the best score but I finally got three stars. WOW, lets not make that many more levels that tough! Please!!!

Per the video with one bird left. Aimed the first bird slightly below the first horizontal wood block, you have to tap the screen immediately after you launch the bird in order for it to reach the second square wood block on the beach. With ninety percent of the first structure gone, drop the egg bomb directly over the marmoset that is still on the ground, tap the screen so that the chicken shoots up and hit the sand blocks on the bottom of the upper middle structure. This should destroy almost all of second and third structure. Launch the third bird as in the video.
Stuck at 126130! I have to set time limits on myself so I don’t sit too long at this! I have 3 stars everywhere but here.. thinking this level is going to do me in!
134050!!! Finally!!! Did it like the video.. took me a million times but I got it! Now I can rest easy. I had 44 out of 45 stars on that Golden Volleyball forever and I could not stand it!
Been stuck at 126,270 for days on this level, which is one of the hardest in Angry Birds Rio. Then I tried sweeping the top marmosets with first bird, leaving a chimney for sending the white “bird grenade” down. This knocked out all but short front structure at far left, and its two marmosets. The trick is to knock down the entire tower and push your score above 117,000, leaving one 10000 point bonus bird. I have been stuck for the last 2wks with only 1 papaya(the one under the stage)8-5 and this level to get 3 stars…and have just done both in the last half hour! Lord know how many attempts of each I’ve done. 137280.. How happy am I !!!

AWESOME!!! Got mine pretty much like video…Tip: when you hit the first bird try and aim for that first low horizontal wood plank where it has a break as this will ensure almost total collapse of first structure for more points. wb as close and tight above bottom monkey as possible for max destruction. GL…it’s a hard one for sure!
One of the really rare levels I have really big difficulties to get three stars! Annoying.
I know what you mean, took me a while this one! Finally got it via the video method, but took me a fair number of goes! :)
Finally managed to improve above average on this one, following the video and I noticed something. When flinging the white bird in,I aimed a bit higher so it went in right under the sand blocks you want to take out. With the shallower angle of the ricochet it took out those blocks but also rolled further right to take out the sand blocks on the other side of the marmoset, causing more damage and making the third shot more effective. I was able to repeat this several times, although I frequently messed up the next shot, but was able to up my score by 7k, using 3 birds.
Like video; got 143580! For first bird, pull back exactly horizontally (minimum width on sling); raise the bird 3 or 4 pixels above horizontal (i.e. the bird is aimed slightly down). By pixel, I mean that from the horizontal position, you can see a step in the sling. Click to activate almost immediately. The bird needs to hit at about the lowest horizontal plank, and leave a nice opening as in the video. Good luck!
Who was the sadist that picked this level for today’s challenge? ;) I got so tired of listening to those marmosets screeching at me that I muted the game! Aargh! That first shot looks so easy in the video but I could only hit it maybe once in 15-20 attempts. Oddly, the white bird, when I got a chance to use it, almost always was effective. Then the third, yellow bird couldn’t remember how to break up wood and take out marmosets at the same time. After a million attempts, finally got 145k with 3 birds using the video strat. Painful, but I am happy to have a higher score.
That sadist would be me. It’s the Challenge for a reason. :) I believe the next couple should be a little less, ummm, sadistic. :)
If it makes you feel better, my Android nearly got smashed against the wall on this one a while back while trying to crack averages. I also play without sounds. Then the wife doesn’t know I am playing under the covers at night. ;)
Thought it might be you. Glad you can take a joke! What do you think of that top score posted by @cc-jolly? A two-birder, perhaps? Would love to know how he got 161k – not that I’m planning to attempt this one ever again.
That score is currently being questioned by others on the challenge page. I know I can’t even repeat my score.
@cc-jolly Congrats on high score! We could really use some help from you (details on how you got it).
There are 3 possibilities I can think of:
1) You figured out a better strat than the rest of us have been using, in which case I’m really hoping you’ll share.
2) You made a type when you entered the score, a common mistake, but only noticed when the top score.
3) You posted score for wrong episode. I did that once, getting a top score — My elation was replaced by embarrassment when someone questioned it.
I played the Level GB 5 in the morning several times. I used 2 Birds. The first yellow Bird i shot in the nearest woods (under side) and with white Second Bird i smashed the rest. The woods fall lucky and not much over plus 20k over for rest two birds. I take always the same strategy but it played about One hour this Level since Blocks fall sooooo nice.
Thanks (I think). It sounds like you really used the same strategy as the video. Is that correct? Any subtle differences, or details? I was really hoping it was something new and different. I agree with HallieGinSB — I don’t think I’m going to try again, certainly not another hour or two on the same strat.
Oh dear, I can’t even get average:(. I am so intimidated by this score,@cc-jolly! Fantastic job!! Sooooo nice is right:) I think I will wait for the next challenge.

not that I know exactly what @cc-jolly did on this level @mvnla2 but I have had the WB do some serious damage and believe that the same under approach as video is possible to 2 bird. I just haven’t mastered the first shot well enough yet to give myself an open shot. What HAS happened is that the WB basically rocket scoots all through that middle sand block lined middle section taking them all out. I have had that top bird and the right one left on all occasions. Timed right I suppsose there is a way for that top right marmoset to fall. Heckat this point I’d be happy with average!
This level is, indeed, one of the toughest to 3-star.
I finally got 139650 following pretty much the official strat. :)
I have another strategy for this that gave me 151 000 points. It starts off as the strategy mentioned above where you take out the first wooden structure with the yellow bird. But instead of throwing the white bird into the hole left by the structure you throw it right down in the ground – aim slightly right of the second rock in the sand. Just before the bird hits the ground you release the egg. The bird will then ricochet and take out all the supporting wood for the upper structures and the whole place will come tumbling down. It takes perfect timing, but if you do it right it will go all the way through to to end and knock the end structure over as well. The remaining monkeys and structures you can take out with the next bird.
