Angry Birds Poached Eggs 3 Star Walkthrough Level 1-5

Your primary goal in Poached Eggs level 1-5 is to hit the middle vertical stone beam as hard as possible with the first red bird so that the boulder drops down and pops all the pigs. The score in the video below is 65,010.

Note: The horizontal blocks in the video below are ice. On some platforms, and in older versions of the app, the blocks are wood.

Poached Eggs 1-5 is (at least on my iphone) the Daily Challenge again today, Wednesday. Is that correct?

@birdleader, I just checked, and something weird is going on. I see it in the admin database, but don’t know why it’s there. It should have been SW. I hope it rolls over to the next challenge tonight… :/

If it doesn’t, I’ll ping you.

@birdleader – this level appeared on Challenge so many times, no one wishes to see it again. And now, with such a high top score it has become unbeatable. As @uncle-b and @jtwade suggested, could you please remove this level from Challenge permanently, and use another level as a “place holder” when something happens?

Hello Ian,

Thank you for contacting us and I sincerely apologize for the delayed response. We have received a much larger volume of emails than normal recently, and haven’t been able to reply to everyone as quickly as we would like.

As there can sometimes be a confusion if Shockwave bird is a powerup or not (it is), can you confirm if you used the Shockwave bird? It is confirmed that with the Shockwave bird the score of 90,000+ can be achieved. However, without it non of our testers were able to achieve a score close to 90,000.

Best regards,

Aleksander

@ixan57 — I tweeted Peter Vesterbacka at Rovio, and he agreed that the answer from support was not appropriate:

@mvnla:
@pvesterbacka — ABN’s top flingers better than Rovio testers; stop calling them cheats:

@pvesterbacka:
@MVNLA @angrybirdsnest that should never happen :(

So that’s not an apology from the people who insulted you, but at least from a Rovio VP.

@amin I’ve played this level over and over. I’m not a legendary player by any means but for these new scores to stand there has to be some proof supplied. It certainly is easier now than it was with all wood. The best I’ve come to my previous score was about 75k with one bird and zero glass or wood left.. To achieve a score > than 80k has to be a no birder or a glitch that is yet undiscovered and more importantly, not substantiated. It’s happened before but for this to occur so suddenly after so long “seems” highly suspect. My 2 cents

@admins I totally agree with @swelld and @angrychicken (se above posts) on this. There’s no fun in competing against suspicious scores; screenshots and a comment should be mandatory as it is in the challenge. BTW: If the top scores were achieved using the Facebook version, will this show on a screenshot? (I don’t even have a Facebook account, so I wouldn’t know).

@gladvold why don’t you read the posts before making random comments. There has been a few questionable bugs/glitches recently all episodes. I gave up on ad2 for example. One problem after another. So use your energy and address the issues to rovio where I try to seek answers. I thought that my posts where transparent to explain the problem but obviously not. @admins

@swelld @gladvold I can vouch for @ixan57 that he is an upstanding member and experienced a strange glitch , that happens on different levels , different episodes, different platforms at times.
I know that he doesn’t use FB or PU’s it was just a freak thing, which he instantly contacted Rovio and @admins with concerns.
You all know me, i am always questioning suspicious scores , but as a community it benefits us all to work together in situations such as this… I’m not saying the score should have remained at all , just saying a little patience and finding solutions would be a better way to approach issues such as these.

@ixan57 I personally wasn’t referring to you directly. I have read your posts and commend you tremendously for being transparent. If you take a look at the leaderboard ( or as of this morning) there are now 2 more scores above 80k. Something is amiss here. If the scores ( including yours) were achieved legitimately despite a glitch then so be it. It just “appears” suspicious because after all these years to have a glitch pop up in the very first level ever released seems strange. As for myself, I personally don’t care that you enter the 90k score. You provided a screen shot. The admins can actually examine files to see if scores are “legit” or not if they so request as you may already know. It’s a quirk and interesting. I played for a couple of hours this morning to see if I could get even close to 80k and was spectacularly unsuccessful. Enjoy the moment! When something unexpected happens with this app it brings out the crowd. However. I always take a screenshot of the tally screen when I hit a high score most of the time after having got used to doing so when I played the challenges. It’s the best proof short of submitting files, which those two cats who have spots one and two have yet failed to do so far as I know. That is the reason for my comment today. Sláinte.

@ixan57 I have absolutely no problem with you or your score, which probably was a rare glitch. I have read all the above posts, including yours. You have met every acquirement I could possibly think of, and even contacted Rovio, and then voluntary withdrawn your score. My apologies if you felt that I was attacking you, I had no intention to do so. I have no reason to mistrust you, and I don’t!

I have a problem with those who enter incredible scores without leaving a comment, won’t provide a screenshot, and either don’t respond or respond with anger and with no attempt to give an explanation when their score is being questioned.

@pampeans As you can see in the above comments, there has been a lot of fuss resently (and I have contributed…) concerning the >80k scores in this level.

Could you please let us know how you achieved your score? Did you perhaps play the Facebook version? (Facebook scores are not allowed on this leaderboard). Or did you maybe experience the same glitch as ixan57 did? I am not accusing you of anything, I just my opinion that exceptional scores deserves a comment and a screenshot.

@ixan57 I want to say again that I had no intention to question you. I thought that would be obvious, since you had already given a comment and a screenshot. Personally I wouldn’t mind if you choose to reenter your score. But of course, it’s up to the admins to decide whether a specific glitch score should be allowed.

@gladvold Thanks for the message, you’re right to question the score, it’s entered incorrectly! I’m only higher than average for this level, not a top scorer. When I entered the score on that day’s challenge, I swear it only showed me in the top 50 (and barely that). I played AB on my old iPhone 3G years ago and have since changed my username on ABN (why I came out of nowhere). Oh my goodness, I’m so embarrassed! How do I remove the score? I’ve been playing the ABT competition and have not been checking this forum. I apologize for any confusion my mistake has caused, I’m completely mortified…
