The general strategy for Mighty Hoax level 5-17 is to lob Yellow birds downward into the trough. Our order goes as follows. Speed the first Yellow bird through the first small pig. Lob the next Yellow bird into the small pig in the middle level. With the next few Yellow birds, take out the feet of the structure at the bottom. The score in the video below is 103,630.
If you have a different strategy feel free to leave a comment below; however, don't just post your score via the comments, as that's what the leaderboards are for.

Same strat as the video, but with a little bit more luck and one extra bird left. Got 116950!
Here’s the video
80k + 4 spare birds ;-) just a bit more to the left on all birds used. Luck on last bird made all roofs collapse above the lower pigs.
@e-star Thank you the the alternate strategy and video. Found that lining up the bird launches with the distance from the base of the sling enables one to obtain a consistant pattern on where the birds land, whether to the left or more to the center of the structure. It appears the key to the higher score is the more destruction of wooden boards along with the remaining birds. Had three birds remaining for this score but was very close to 4 spare birds as z0z0 mentioned below.
120k+ strategy: Fire first YB and accelerate at the last second so it passes through the first diagonal bird on the top left, without touching the small vertical board on it’s left or the slightly longer diagonal board that is just above the first pig. YB will pass through and come to rest on the horizontal board, wait until he disappears and then shoot the second YB on the EXACT same path. With luck, it will pass all the way through to the bottom left pig. Wait until the structure settles to the left and then shoot the third yellow bird at a flatter angle than the first two YBs, so it passes through the least amount of wood to get to the pig on the bottom right.
Excellent stategy, thetoddman23! Thanks so much for sharing! I was able to inprove my score by more than 13k using your stategy.
I dunno what this is but it’s not the facebook game I have. Are you going to put up the real facebook mighty hoax walkthroughs?
This shouldnt differ much from the Facebook version, but in any case, no, we do not intend to record these sorts of levels again. The proof of concept works fine as-is.
I used the strategy offered by @thetoddman23, but haven’t been able to complete the level in two birds (yet). Nevertheless, even with three birds, I improved my score by over 5000 points. One of the things that I noticed is that on the first shot, you need the bird to damage the horizontal board on which it comes to stop. If it isn’t damaged, the second bird won’t make it all the way to the bottom.
@DocTonyNYC you are right on needing the horizontal board to be damaged by the first bird. Also, I used 3 birds to get my score and not 2 (2 birds high trajectory to the left side and the 3rd bird to the bottom right).
You’re absolutely right, and I just someone missed the sentence where you mentioned the third bird, @thetoddman23. I actually wonder if it’s possible with two, though. I came pretty close to it a couple of times.
It very well could be possible, all that would need to happen is have some of the falling wood destroy the horizontal pieces of the pig chambers (easier said then done of course).
