Mine and Dine level 17-7 is one of the most difficult levels in the entire Angry Birds app to earn 3 stars. The best strategy is to lob the Boomerang bird over the structure and spin it back through the wooden block on the right side. Ideally, the Boomerang bird should go far enough so as to break the hollow wooden square within. In any event, the whole right side should be cleared with significant damage. Fire a Yellow bird horizontally, through both pieces of wood on the left side. To earn 3 stars, it is important to break the jewel in the trough. Be careful of the encased pig that falls leftward, since he doesn’t always pop. The score in the video below is 125,200.

whoever created this level has some serious issues!!!! I have been at this for days and I cannot get past 116,000!!! I hate these stupid levels that require precision shots and if you are off by the tiniest bit, you have to start over!!! GRRRRRRRRR!!!!
if posting on here gets you the 3 star then here i go…. i am stuck on 115,000 with only one star – i have spent so many hours on this i am wasting my life, lol…. at this point i would be excited to see 2 stars – but i will keep plugging away – thanks for all the tips
I don’t mind difficult levels, but I hate levels that require every shot to be so precise. This level and Seasons Greedings 16 and 17 are horrible. If every shot isn’t exactly precise, and if things don’t fall exactly right, you miss getting three stars.
I beat all of these levels frequently, but always miss by just a few points. Often it’s just one little piece that doesn’t break. Challenging levels are fun, levels like these are just frustrating. I wish Rovio would lower the bar a bit on these three.
i got it on my first good try! 128,060. That is, after 300+ tries, and of them possibly 30 successful shot#1s, I finally got a decent shot#2 off, at which I am miserably bad. My second best score is only 110k.
Got 121070 on my first try. That was over 300 tries ago. If I don’t screw up the first shot, I screw up the second. This level is evil!
Absolutely amazing. After posting here, I got 3 starts within a couple dozen tries. Hit 123000 exactly! What a relief!!!
It seems to be a common thread here that you can only win this level after posting your frustration here. My best is 122770 and still only two stars!

It worked! 129170 finally! I agree with a post from earlier. If you don’t get at least 55000 on the first bird, don’t bother with the second. Except, maybe to practice. 120K would have been a more reasonable score for three stars.
It’s a Thanksgiving miracle!! :). I finally 3 starred this evil, evil level. I have lost track of the time spent on this one and was trying one last time. Just like video, but after first bird, only had 44K. The lower hatted big pig and the tiny pig just right of center were still standing-but had been tossed around a little. I held my breath, shot yellow bird and hit it just right. The two surviving pigs on the right were the last to go, but enough debris fell and the structure shook just enough to pop them. Finally, finally, finally. This was the last level I needed to 3 star. If your first shot goes like mine did, hang in there and try the yellow bird, it just might work.
Another Thanksgiving miracle. Like before entry I long ago lost track of how long I have been beating myself up working on this EVIL level. Had 54K on first bird and yellow was a perfect shot for a 124500 score for my BIG 3 STAR event.
I think i will get the achievement of AB Addict (Play AB for 30 hours) from this level *sigh*
Finally, 123770, after at least 100 tries. One tip, the 2nd bird often works better slightly lower than horizontal, and the speed boost is not always required. The first bird is just horrible, though, and its just luck as to whether it hits or not!
Oh, and one other thing, there is a stability problem on this level whereby some of the right tower collapses by itself, but this only happened once to me, and I messed up the boomerang bird, but it might be exploitable for extra points.
it happened to me a few times, but the collapse never cleared the big pig … making it harder to get it.
I also noticed the right tower would partially collapse occasionally. It is fairly rare (as in maybe once every 10 – 15 goes) but like sal9, I found it was more of a hindrance than a help.
Laurence, your tip about the second bird worked fine. Was more consistant in its path of travel.
On levels like this one asks the brain, “what part of hitting the vertical wood plank do you not understand”. You see it, you aim but it ends up being high or low more often that on target.
Reset if 49k+ was not obtained after first bird.
Patience and persistence eventually pays off when there is a workable strategy to succeed. Gained 3k in points.
As a consolation, at least the feather was easy enough to obtain for this level.
@TruckDriver, I can’t believe what I’m reading here, you, the most psychoanalytical person I know, is settling for just a feather? Where is the in-depth analysis and writing of obscure scientific words that you’re so proficient at? I would have expected more from you!
ps. This level really has it in for all of us, especially since the two most important shots are so precision specific that if you mess one up, you’ve got to start over again, talk soon.
Well, I was after the feather, as I had already earned the 3 stars, so I was merely offering encouragement in the form of commiseration.
What, after all, can one say about a feather in this forum? I mean, it’s a feather! Indeed, a scholarly dissertation of the mechanics of avian aerodynamics is just slightly out of context here.
@TruckDriver, I am really lousy AB player as you can see from my leaderbroad. I have a feather on this level and got it pretty easy, let’s say from five or six trails. I went with GB straight to the first stucture and after that shot only pig in helmet and pig in wooden square left. Then I killed those ones with YB and destroy most of solid material. I weakened the rest of solids with second YB and kill small helmet pig with RB. After that I shot can where small pig was and ME cleared it all.
As I can see from your posts you are language purist and I hope you wouldm’t mind my English which is obviously forign to me.
@cosmo2503 – perhaps calling yourself a “striving” AB player would be better.
As to the language, well, my parents sent me to Catholic school for 12 years, and they actually required me to learn the stuff… :-)
Tip for the second bird: zoom out and line up the left corner of the yellow bird with bottom of a crack in the dark blue background. A bit of the crack line extends below the yellow line. Activate about half way to target. It provided a little more consistency on the landing point in the vertical wood post.
Tip for the first bird: Fling and pray.
Exactly!! And I just hate when that happens too. I agree with Jessica above, who nailed when she said this level’s designer has some issues. With sadism, perhaps!! To think, this requires two disparate, but nonetheless perfect shots, and near total destruction, clearing 103k, or better, before count up, or the 3 stars ain’t happenin’!!

Wow, what a tough level … & my technique for 2nd shot was unintentionally different from the video. The 1st shot was same as shown with score around 52k; I almost exited to start again. I play on Droid phone & for 2nd shot reduced screen view; for 1st shot it was as large as possible, in Airplane mode to not have ads.
For 2nd shot I meant to aim as shown in video, with screen size changed for this try, the shot was higher than I meant for it to be. The yellow bird hit the piece of concrete/stone on top of the wood I was aiming for. I was about to exit & not even let things fall when the remaining left side started to fall. I watched in ABSOLUTE AMAZEMENT as everything tumbled, including that small pesky pig encased in wood. Before this shot my best score was 122,870 & I was into my 2nd day of trying.
As I watched everything fall & the points add up, the score was just over 102,000 when several more pieces of debris fell. By the time it was done the score was over 104,000 to which the 20,000 bonus for a remaining 2 birds gave me 3 stars …. FINALLY! I’m a pretty decent shot; a number of levels in Seasons are top 10 scores & for me, this is 1 of the top 5 most difficult. I still need to go through all of these Angry Birds Chapters & most levels to improve almost all my scores & seriously doubt I can get 3 stars on this one again….I’d be totally amazed!
As I said, I almost ended this level before it was done because I thought the 2nd shot was too high, but everything fell & it was enough for 3 stars. It was definitely a lucky 2nd shot, so if it happened for me it may happen to you. If you’re thinking of ending the game before it’s done, it may be the shot that would have given you 3 stars.
i have finished all other levels 3 stars in every episode except this one! is there another way? i have been stuck here for weeks.

I’ve lost count of the number of times that I’ve tried to 3-star this level. It’s just impossible. It’s like they’re working for HTC in making us throw the phones through the wall in frustration, or something? Please tell me there’s a cheat for this level, so that I can get on with my life!!!
HTC is the same as any other device. The way in the video is the way.
Well, I finally got though the **** level, three days after my post above. 123440 was my final score.
I agree re this level being extremely hard. Considering how hard it is, it amazes me how high the leaderboard average is. It makes me realise there are a lot of us stubborn/crazy players willing to take up the challenge and keep on playing until we do beat it or post a comment here and then beat it lol. I doubt I’ll return to this one so like Elfslayer, I too am going to take my score and run.
I don’t know if this is any help but I kept firing boomer fairly low, just clearing the structure and clicking him to return at the same spot as in the video. (I was going to try and describe the exact spot but just noticed my background is different to the video.) With yellow bird, I extend him fully out level and then just slightly raise him before flinging. I don’t boost until about half to three quarters of the way across.
A lot say if you don’t get at least 55,000 with boomer don’t bother continuing but I always did so I could practise the yellow bird shot.
Btw, if you’ve got a few minutes, go back and read all the comments for this level. There’s some really funny stuff here.
This level really got me, spent weeks and sweat over it. I tell myself, I’m not going to look at the cheats, and here I am. I was doing it right all along, but couldn’t get to 3 stars. I think when we read that others are having the same troubles as you, it gives you hope. Here I am 20 minutes later with a score of 123770. Really, just keep trying. I’ve been trying to wait out the right side falling over on itself, of course it only does it when I’m frustrated and just lobbing it outta the park.

This level is soooooooooooooo hard! I fear I’ll be stuck at 121K+ forever. Sigh …
I can do both shots, but never get any higher then 120’830. What the heck am I doing wrong? I have been at it for two days and can’t score enough for 3 stars even with the jewels smashed. Next sound you hear will not be smashing jewels. It may well be smashing IPod!!!

I try to getting 3 without watching ABN, but after a thousand try with 2 birds only got 110k, thinking there must some problem with my device app. After come here notice this is some impossible mission.

Did they change this levels difficulty? I followed this video and got 125,660. Honestly it was one try. There are levels that I’ve spent days on trying to get three stars but this one was easy.

Nope, no change in the difficulty, this is just one of those levels where it depends how everything falls. The video is the perfect strat but usually takes several attempts, congrats.
This level is why i took out the “throw it against the wall” insurance policy on my phone lol
This wasn’t the hardest one I’ve tackled but it was pretty close. I followed the video but it still took several tries over a few days to finally get it. Phew!
I hate this level!!! This is the most frustrating one since I left the desert! Kathy if you read these posts while revisiting ABO the ‘C’ factor is BIG on this one to get avgs! The only tip I can give you is keep the boomerang bird low over the structures it seems to yield higher points when he hits through the wood! As to the yellow bird, well as they say Pray and Fling cause I’m still trying to get that one right after 3 days!! The Whiiiinnnee factor is in full swing for me right now!! :(((

Ahhh @Kimmiecv I’ve just finally made it to this horrid level..what’s worse is i know I’ve completed it TWICE..yes not once but TWICE!!! and now i can’t come close to average..2k down..I’m sure averages have gone up since my first two visits but..seroiusly i am Happy as someone mentioned above that i have insurance on my phone..

And you’ve already had to do it twice! Yikes!! I wish I could give you some safe advice but uhhh not so much, I just kept at it ad nausium :/

Did you follow the video? To be honest it took me Days to get this evil level and I got so good with the first shot I could do it in my sleep! The 2nd shots the one that killed me! Just follow the video and pray for some luck cause its the same think over and over! There isn’t another way to get this one! :((. Good luck to you bronwyn!
Temporarly I am trying to improve my ABS scores and get Score addict on each episode. ABO is later to come. Out of 333 scores that I entered for ABO I have at least 300 below average. I guess it was pure luck to get above average on this level, I didn’t notice and don’t remember it was so difficult.
I spent my lunch break at work playing this level. In several attempts I had score above 123k. I don’t know whether this was ever “daily challenge” and if wasn’t I think it could be. It is hard but not frustrating.
