Ed@ejaehneYES!! WHAT HAVE THEY DONE???
The same thing happened to me just a few minutes ago. It says it is updated to 126.7.2 and switched from wood blocks to purple bricks for the reward. I was at 38,000 points, now reset to 0 on the purple brick challenge. It maintained my tokens, and adds to my tokens when I run the event, but it doesn’t add anything to my score on the leaderboard.
Also, when i complete the run, it shows me one leaderboard, but when I look at today’s competition, it shows the old, static board, with me at 38,000.
It seems that it is safe to run additional event and gather more tokens, but who knows what leaderboard will determine the event bonus.
The same thing happened to me twice last week before I upgraded to the new hard upgrade (I am on iOS).
ARGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!
Ed@ejaehneThis happened to me and was the result of a Rovio software bug. I was in the event and had accumulated around 65000 event points. I started another run and the game crashed. When I restarted the game and went back to events, my score was still on the leader board, but it had zeroed out in the next goal box. When I ran the event, my leader board score didn’t change so i was dead in the water until the day’s event clock ran out. This happened 2 days in a row, and on the second day i upgraded to the latest iOS version of the game. When I went back to run in the event suddenly over 65,000,000. I tried doing a run in the event to see if it would reset but it just stayed where it was. I am just running regular runs with no cheats or attempts to amplify my score. It just suddenly appeared. When the day’s event clock ran out, my scoring went back to normal. It did give me 1st place for the day, but I was already in that spot for the day anyway.
I contacted Rovio on these problems but only received a mindless and useless bot-like response. Since the update + 1 day, my events and scoring have been operating normally, including the now expected frequent in event crashes.
Ed@ejaehneI was finally able to restore my game, but it was a process. I use an iPad (4th Gen) and use iCloud to maintain a backup via Apple’s Game Center. Before doing this I confirmed that I had a current iCloud backup (performed this morning). To get it to restore I had to do the following:
1) delete ABT
2) reboot the iPad
3) download ABT again
4) open ABT and go through the tutorial as if a first time playerOnce i completed the tutorial, the game recognized me and proceeded to restore my game to its status just before I did the upgrade. I lost all status in today’s challenge, but all of my ABT’s, coins, gems, etc. were restored.
I don’t use Facebook for my backups but Game Center did the job.
I emailed Rovio support hours ago and have yet to hear anything other then a robotic response that they received my support ticket. This is not the first time they have totally disabled the game for me and MANY other users. They need to research a new concept in software engineering called TESTING.
I hope this helps some of you restore your game and status! Good luck.
