so, is there a way to clear data and not lose progress?

This game is using more storage than anything else, seems to jump up every time it crashes. is there now some progress saving, tied to facebook or google? If not I’m just going to have to remove it.

I went ahead and did it, and found on starting, you can’t connect to facebook, until after freeing the first friend, and clearing the 2nd area. then after linking to facebook, it restarts, and levels are back. Achievements seem to be reset though.

On my iphone is was simple remove and add and play one game. On my young son’s android tablet it appeared he’d lost all his progress. Without your post I may have not proceeded and would probably given up. It’s now all back and my son’s very happy.
