I have two missions ending in three hours or so, and one ending in 12 hours, so I’ll make some notes and try to get more precise info to share.

Medium mission, 4 keys, the one special mat unopened was some gems, earned 150 coins for the unopened gift box.

On the easy mission, I got 5 keys, so I opened all the gifts (yay) but have no data on what amount of coins can be earned for unopened gift boxes. However, three boxes each had 16K of coins, so a nice 48K coin bonus. Sure beats paying 600 over and over trying to run a TF down an insta-death node :)

I’m waiting for my first level 11 TF. When he ranks up, I’ll try actually playing the game again. Hahahahahahahahh.

I got 900 coins a few days ago from the extra items that could not be stored. One was a Super Rareium (worth 600 or 700 coins?) & the others were regular materials.

Agreed. I just just claimed a mission with 4 extra Anger Chips + 1 extra Super Rareium = 1,200 coins

The irony is that with all the earned gems, earned coins, earned pigs, and even more bonus coins if your Silo is full, doing missions is far more profitable than than running nodes, especially given how difficult the nodes have become.

Other than doing the missions and regular coin and gem harvests, I can probably stop playing altogether and still earn enough to upgrade my TFs, at least through Levels 11 and 12 if not even higher, by which time hopefully they’ll be powerful enough to run nodes again with a reasonable chance of success.

Man, I been doing missions over and over, no arachnia… I got arcee fairly early on, but I think I’ve done hundreds of missions without seeing another orange mission!

It’ll get there. I got Arcee on the first day, and then it took me another week of constantly doing missions before Airachnid showed up.

I almost wish she hadn’t because now I’m kind of distracted from leveling up my other TFs while I’m trying to get her and Arcee up to L10.

Re Arcee and Airacnid: I ran 18 or 19 missions before Arcee showed up. Airachnid showed up today on a medium mission.

So if I understand you correctly, you’re saying that the unopened gift boxes left over after using all of our mission completion keys will also give you coins if you choose not to spend gems to open them?

@optimuspig, yes, in my experience, any unopened gift box nets coins. I have very few gems, so if I don’t have enough keys, I’m trying to keep track of what’s in the unopened boxes and how many coins I get. I’m getting better at remembering to make notes before I open the completed mission to try and get an accurate picture of how many coins (what special materials I have, number of coins and gems and pigs, etc). My family is finding scraps of paper with these notes around and they think I’m a *bit* obsessed 😀

The trick is to use Excel spreadsheets :D

I’ve been doing that for the past week to track what missions come up, their characteristics and their potential rewards. My handwriting is much too scrawly.

(And the family only thinks I’m obsessed, but not crazy – yet ;)

You know you’re obsessed when you’re still willing to play the game despite all of that (and all the other stuff we’ve had to put up with over the past eight months – holy smokes, has it really been that long????)

So, two missions completed sometime this afternoon.

Hard mission, 3 keys = 2 unopened boxes. One had superarium, one had pigs, netted 150 coins, so 75 coins each?

Medium mission, 4 keys = 1 unopened box. Fortunately, I can say for sure that this one unopened box that contained coins netted me 510 coins! I know it’s not a mistake, because I very carefully made a note of silo contents, coin and gem count before opening the completed mission. I was only lacking one key, so I know I got the 510 coin bonus.

Also, watched the video in the silo and got a superarium for that 30 sec of my time.

So, I’ll busy myself with these activities until I can upgrade a few TFs to level 11… Then perhaps have the pleasure of playing the game and enjoying all the other bugginess I’ve read about in other threads. :)

I just got arachnia, she was on an easy node, 24 hour mission. If I’m not mistaken, just before that, there was an easy 24 hour mission called top secret or something, IIRC… I think that, the way it works is, there’s a special 24 hour mission on the easy node… Complete that mission, and your next easy mission set will include a yellow mission with your free transformer. I think so anyhow!!!

“Top Secret” is a 7h mission in the Easy portal.

The 24h missions (that I know of) are as follows:

Easy: “Summon Reinforcements”

Medium: “Research Eggs”

Hard: “Retake Region” and “Negotiate Peace”

After a mission, I had 2 surplus super rareium, an unopened box of anger chips (so, don’t know how many), and unopened box of badness processors (again, don’t know how many in the box) for a 1000 coin bonus. So, for me the surplus super rareium couldn’t have been 600 coins.

Are the coin bonuses for the surplus items from missions different depending on the platform (iOS vs Android?)

I’m thinking more likely that my earlier calculations were off because I didn’t know at the time that we received coins for unopened gift boxes, so it’s possible that Super Rareiums are less than 600, but appeared to be 600 because I’d inadvertently included the coins from unopened gift boxes in my calculations.

Back to the spreadsheet!

@20qmindreader The values I came up with only seem to be valid when one opens all 5 gift boxes. (no unopened boxes) I tracked 3 more when I got home from work tonight, intentionally having 1 or 2 unopened boxes on each & got totally different amounts that varied by 180 – 300 coins from the previous recon. Who knows, lol…

I’ll try 3 more after they finish & see if I can come up with some consistent formula or theory.

Probably because the unopened gift boxes give a varying number of coins as well, so the only way to know for sure how many coins you get only for excess special mats is by opening all five gift boxes.

Completed a hard mission sometime yesterday and with 2 unopened boxes holding unknown number of badness processors…zero coin bonus!! Hasn’t happened before.

Completed easy mission:
4 surplus pig iron
7 surplus decipticog
660 coin bonus (60*11)

Another completed easy mission:
4 surplus pig iron
2 surplus decipticog
1 unopened box with badness thingy
360 coin bonus (60*6), zero for unopened box?

4 surplus decipticog
1 surplus badness thingy
4 surplus autocog
2 unopened boxes of coins
600 coin bonus

— looks like unopened boxes of coins do not generate a coin bonus?
