How do you shoot a gem in a node?

I’ve only ever seen a gem show up in a node twice, and that was when I really hammered an Eggbot with an Energon Galvatron and a Heat Wave.

Otherwise, the only gems I’ve ever seen have been from the random crates on the main map, and from the new missions.

I agree with @optimuspig gems showing up in the missions gift boxes, no matter what difficulty or length has gone done since the gems have stopped showing up on the map. I also would say that overall gem collection is down about 1/4 of what it used to be before update. I usually play 9 to 12 missions a day and in the past week have earned 50 gems

The gems show up as gems in the node with the ocean. In the city nodes, they are in the barrels with the pig noses. It used to be that for every one of those I shoot, there would be a gem in a crate a while later. At least it seemed that was what was going on. The more I shot, the more would show up.

I’m not getting ANY gems at all on my iPad mini. I haven’t for several days. With all of this junk going on, I just want to quit this game. It’s more of a headache anymore. I will not pay money to play a game, period. Can you guys just quit messing with stuff and fix the things that are really wrong?? My son can’t even play it on his android tablet at all because it crashed on startup.

I’ve never noticed any of that. And I play this game a lot. I’ll have to shoot a few more barrels I suppose.

I’ve never noticed random gems floating around in the ocean/beach nodes.

The gems are usually in the extreme foreground, where you generally are looking. I didn’t nice it until 3 weeks ago. Then they updated and made shooting them pointless.

@farview – Do you have any screen pops of these Barrels with Pig Noses? or these other places you get gems in regular events???

They only look like that in the city. You can see 3 of them at the beginning of each scene. The train thing your character jumps out of stops in front of three of them. Also at the end, there are a couple always sitting there as the train flies away.

Shooting them is pointless now because it no longer gives you gems.

12 hour Easy mission – 5 gems
12 hour Medium mission – zero gems
12 hard Hard mission – zero gems

All missions completed with five keys.

@optimuspig I do use FB and have plenty of friends that play ABT. No gem boxes for a couple days. Also about 5 gems per mission portal.

Lessee now, over the past two claim cycles (one last night, one this morning):

Hard 12h – 10 + 4 = 14 gems
Easy 12h – 8 gems
Medium 24h – zero gems
Easy 12h – zero gems

An improvement, but not by much.

I’m curious to see how my current Hard 24h mission (which ends tonight) goes?

Same here. For me it seems like after I spent them and needed some to do an extra gold mission that costs 10 gems..that’s when I stopped getting chests like a scam to make we want to buy them lol I used to get a ton too.

Day 5 without a treasure chest with any gems, the day before got 1 gem only.
Playing on Samsung tablet with ABT v 1.5.18
Until a week ago it appeared to me the more you used your gems the more treasure chests appeared giving you your gems back plus a profit.
Not happy but hopefully Rovio will get around to fixing it.

I’ve given up on the game. Besides the gem problem, mine keeps crashing when I try to boost a buddy, double my points, or sometimes just on startup.

I don’t get the missions thing. The fun of the game is running around shooting stuff, not picking a few guys and waiting a day to see what you get…
