The number that you provided for M3 -> M4 can’t be right. I levelled up my Skulkers to M3 and they need 8,559 to M4. That’s more than the 7,390 which you said was in the code…
I unfortunately missed the exact point at which Skulkers levelled up so I can’t correct it with my own value…
Can you (or someone else) look again?

datguygamer
@datguygamer@smwforever45 I distinctly remember seeing it as 7390. Did they change it again online? Let me check the patch list.
datguygamer
@datguygamerEDIT: Yes, they did. Currently the game is on patch version 3493. Yesterday it was 3050. These are the further changes they did:
* Mastery level values do have changed (because I see some bytes which weren’t there before). But which ones I don’t know as the areas I used to access the mastery values are now encrypted. So until I find a way to decrypt them, I cannot help unfortunately. So it’s entirely possible that more values have changed. But based on your picture, I would guess the number is now 8560 or 8570.
* Snoutling values reduced in some caves.
* Some small code changes in the arena.
* That coin pig (the one that carries the bag of coins) appearance is reduced a bit. Previously the value was 3. Now it is 2.8.
* Also, data for next month’s set item.
* Event data for Elite Guardian is now added.
The main thing however, is the fact that they encrypted those parts so soon. Do they actively monitor these threads in secret or what?
Pointless
@pointless@datguygamer they most definitely do monitor these forums. Why wouldn’t you, as Rovio, take advantage of the ongoing free “Beta-Testing”?
@smwforever45 just borrowed your M3 Skulkers for a run through 13-5. Granted, I manually played, but had no problem breezing through (used my M14 Samurai and M14 Lighting Bird to round out the Team).Anonymous
@datguygamer @smwforever45 @pointless
Man, it’s like they’re TRYing to mess with poor Yosh! Why change the mastery tiers AGAIN?!
And of course they reduced cave Snoutput. I’ll be mildly surprised if they didn’t do so in 1.5, 4.5, 11.4 and 13.5. @datguygamer, are you able to tell specifically which cave levels are affected?
RedYoshi45
@smwforever45I’ve got one more free friend’s bird so I’ll use this bird to compare Snoutput and Mastery output of 11-4 with the pre-patch output. (Not representative, as usual!)
Snoutling balance before: 59,322
Snoutling balance after: 59,473
Minus two Wealthy Rogues: 59,373
Gain in this run: 51 SnoutsTreasure Hunters: Mastery to M11
Before: 6,989
After: 6,884
Gain in this run: 105 (is dividable by 7)Frost Hogs etc. still drop double Mastery with a 100% chance, while normal Brutes only sometimes drop double Mastery.
This is about the same that my research a while ago gave me. I see no changes in 11-4 on my side, at least no major changes. Not sure about other levels.
@pointless
Most of the time, my M2 Skulkers were able to win 11-4 on auto-play when paired with some strong birds. However, every now and then I did get a loss in. One time the team failed at the last wave. I wish I would’ve jumped in and helped them out. :(
Jamairoqui
@jamairoqui@smwforever45 Yoshi, why not use 1-5 on autoplay with 2 birds to level up your low-mastery birds until they are strong enough to autoplay 11-4? It might take a little longer using 1-5, but it takes less futzing around because 1-5 is so much easier than 11-4 so the overall aggravation is less because you don’t have to pay attention.
Chuck_Bird
@aufar-ramadhan@smwforever45 @datguygamer
Things happened since last night:
– Coin Toss is more predictable (4 loss,2-3 wins).
– Mastery output on caves increased by 1 per wave per bird. Snout output decreased quite heavily.
– Wealthy Rogues are still appearing normally in caves, but SUPER RARELY seen in the island.
– NO changes in Mastery required to upgrade.
– AGPM video loading symbol never appeared.(At least on my phone).
-Demonic Wizpig health decreased.(I’m sure about this).Not sure if this is caused by a patch or not.
But Rovio will make an update quite soon.
Say Welcome Back to Anti-Play system 2.0.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!??????????
RedYoshi45
@smwforever45@jamairoqui
Because it takes FOREVER to acquire decent amounts of Mastery playing 1-5. You get more than twice as much from playing 11-4. Even if you fail this level in Wave 4 or 5 you’ll still have more Mastery than you could ever acquire on 1-5.I play 4-5 for the weak allies and that’s where I can also use Skulkers. Once I make it to @datguygamer – at L47 – on my friend list, I switch to 11-4. I can take a loss or two, my Skulkers will grow stronger with time and later they’ll be able to overcome anything :)
@aufar-ramadhan
Strangely enough, I’ve ONLY seen change on Mastery ranks from M3 to M4 so far.So they did decrease the Snoutput? Oh come on :( How far though? How much does a Brute give now?
EDIT: Just tried ANOTHER time and a Brute can give either 3 or 4 Snouts upon defeat. They did use to give more (up to 6 IIRC) but it isn’t a dramatic change that would make me stop playing the Caves. (I mean, they can’t endlessly reduce Snoutling rewards either, there always has to be some sort of reward apart from EXP stars.)
Wealthy Rogues have always been a rare sight on the Island, and I repeat there is no hot-spot for finding them.
Chuck_Bird
@aufar-ramadhan@smwforever45 Well, normally on 1-5 the old snoutput is between 74-78. But now, I’m only getting 68-75 snouts.
So sad.
Once more, Rovio strikes us again. But there’s good news too.
I’ve figured 25 minutes ago that the snoutput is somehow tied to our level. There are no decrease starting from cave 11-17. Snoutput from dungeons and castles don’t decrease.
But, you shall Never Tell Me The Odds.
NOoOOoOoOOOoooOooOoooOoOOOO!!!! Why Chuck dies????!?!!!!
So sad, even since January I can’t forget this madness.
??????????????Edit:
Oh, about Wealthy Rogues.
They may give rare appearance in the island. But I always see him at least once a day. But now, he haven’t showed up himself since 2 days ago.
Wealthy Rogues can appear in ANY level in the island. Makes low level guys happier than ever, before.
RedYoshi45
@smwforever45@aufar-ramadhan
That is really not a big change at all. I can live with that. Can you?Ah that is reasonable. I too think that a Level 13 Brute shouldn’t give the same Snoutput as a Level 49 Brute when you’re already Level 60. However, I would also hope for a heavily increased reward if you’re Level 21 and defeat a Level 49 Brute.
Chuck_Bird
@aufar-ramadhan@smwforever45 Yeah, I hope so. But i still can live in peace as I’m grinding 11-4. The decreased snoutput is only about 2-3 snouts. That doesn’t matter.
BTW, don’t you want to add in the main post about pigs that always give mastery (or double) every time.
Here’s a list:
All brutes (including Big Pirate) except normal and mini normal brutes. It should be caused by a fact that other brutes have passive abilities.
Cave Shamans (Don’t forget the “cave” because I always forget), and finally,
KING PIG (Use caps because he is the king, for me).
Oh, I forgot:
You can also add the “mastery you get per pig defeated” table. Just add that each wave cleared (normal battle means 1 wave) gives 1 mastery to each bird.
RedYoshi45
@smwforever45@aufar-ramadhan
Each cleared wave now gives 1 mastery? How does it show? Does it show at all?
Chuck_Bird
@aufar-ramadhan@smwforever45 Well, it doesn’t show at all, sadly.
Cave Shamans don’t give guaranteed mastery. Sorry for wrong information.
Marty Schofield
@marty-schofieldSo everyone is playing the Caves after Rovio broke SRC, so now they drop the snoutlings in the Caves.
If they spent 1% of the effort they waste removing things from this game on adding areas we’d have a second island and dozens of cave levels.
Anonymous
@marty-schofield
I was just saying to myself yesterday that I wish they’d add a couple new caves, since the increased the level cap. I need a challenge to keep me interested! (OK, not really. But it would be nice!)
RedYoshi45
@smwforever45First post updated, with the information from @aufar-ramadhan and some other minor changes.
Napoleongl
@napoleongl@marty-schofield
I’ll second that. If they fired one of their analysts that keep track of how to get players to spend money and got a QnA engineer instead they would most likely be able to get working content that players would be happy to pay for instead of trying to suck every penny out of the old piggy bank…
RedYoshi45
@smwforever45@napoleongl
Seconded. A good company doesn’t just go with the “same old story”, they make and try out something new too. A second island, possibly available for purchase (I’d actually spend real money on it as well if it’s well-made) if you’d like, would create a LOT more revenue than reducing Snoutling rewards.Oh and while I’m at it I could as well post my updated Mastery diagram, since a few more rank-ups have happened…

As usual, the equipped classes are the ones I use in the Chronicle Caves, because they’re closest to ranking up:
– Cannoneer: 5,085 to go to M11
– Treasure Hunters: 6,286 to go to M11
– Lightning Bird: 9,347 to go to M12
– Stone Guard: 10,631 to go to M9
– Druid: 16,866 to go to M12Other classes that have less than 10k to go:
– Skulkers: 7,313 to go to M4
– Frost Savage: 8,323 to go to M11Anonymous
My mastery situation update (sans fancy chart, haha!):
Red: 13/13/13/13/14/13, all within 10,000 of the next rank up, including Paladin only 3,499 away from M15
Chuck: 13/14/13/14/14/13, and LBird only 1,596 away from M15
Matty: 13/13/13/13/13/14, and Witch only 5,927 away from M15
Bomb: 13/12/12/14/13/12, I’m not grinding him at all, so I can Snout him up at the Dojo when everyone else gets to M15
Blues: 13/15/13/14/13/13, and all the 13s are pretty close to 14

@angryde
datguygamer
@datguygamerSo came back from college and saw about 17 mentions. Lol. Anyway,
@pointless @poptimus Yes, they may monitor these forums but I didn’t expect them to actively take actions. It’s a double edged sword really. While they make changes based on what we talk about here, sometimes that benefits us and sometimes, well, not so much. So we are basically the guinea pigs. Great. :/Btw, caves that are affected with reduced Snoutput (this needs to be in the Thesaurus) are 1, 5, 8, 12, 13. The values have changed from 4.67 to 3.34.
@aufar-ramadhan Well Yoshi says that the Mastery level from 3 to 4 is different from what we posted here and I have seen the patch changes. Mastery levels have changed. They are usually indicated by small bytes in a pattern of two followed by 3 empty bytes. Now there are 4 continuous bytes with 2 empty spaces indicating that something has changed.
@smwforever45 Wait you’ll reach my level? But you are already at 60. I don’t quite understand by “once I make it to”. :POne small note: I was able to decrypt the files (somewhat) BUT as soon as I went into the game it crashed indefinitely. Back to square one…
Jamairoqui
@jamairoqui@smwforever45 But but but, if you are trying to grind some of the weaker classes, or ones without high AOE damage, then I’ve found it is quicker to use the lower caves because they clear faster with just two birds. For example, trying to autoplay 11-4 or 13-5 with just Stone Guard and Treasure Hunter doesn’t work because they sit there and buff each other until they get killed (and it seems worse after the update). But they *can* autoplay the lower levels because they can kill the pigs with one or two shots before they start buffing. So the faster play, even with lower payout, makes it better.
I suspect you will figure this out, once you get more birds up to 15 and are starting to deal with the weaker ones. Like trying to get Guardian and Cleric up to 15 by grinding the higher caves with just two birds? Forget about it. You’ll have to drop back down.
I don’t have a lot of fb friends with higher level birds, and of the ones I do, a lot of the time they give me options for birds I am trying to grind so it isn’t a lot of help.
RedYoshi45
@smwforever45@angryde
Nice advancement on your side, too! I wish I had Rogues at M13 and Spies at M14…
@datguygamer
I meant in my friends list. You’re on the second to last page and I work my way from the pig allies, over the weakest friends’ birds (currently starting at Level 1!) to the strongest. Once I reach your place in my friend list I switch from 4-5 to 11-4, because your birds are super strong and the birds above your level are usually strong enough for the harder stage, too.
@jamairoqui
Objection!
1. If I KNOW that a certain combo or a certain class just doesn’t work (for example, I also hate using Rainbird on auto-play), OR if a friend’s bird prevents me from using a bird I’d like to choose, I simply don’t use it and instead pick a different class that is close to ranking up. Treasure Hunters on its own is pretty OK and actually good against the Brutes that take long to charge their attacks. Stone Guard isn’t really one of my faves for auto-play either.
2. I am busy enough using all my friends’ birds in the Caves. That easily takes an entire day, with breaks of course, and I can’t always do it even. :D So, in fact, my two birds are never alone. They always have a third companion that can support them (at least, starting from @datguygamer’s birds, because the lower-levelled ones can’t take 11-4 so I take them to 4-5 instead).
3. Since I usually do something else while auto-play does the tedious grinding job for me, I really don’t mind if a level takes a bit longer to clear. Not at all. :D
angryde
@angryde@datguygamer @kennymcc I just saw you boys’ class + level grabs… sigh. I could die of envy :-/
