    Merry Christmas to all who pass this lonely way.

    Atlantic Ocean in December?  Not my cup of tea @hunnybunny. Hope you survive.

    Well I never. Jason from Sleaford Mods on Sunday Brunch.What’s the world coming to?

    “I’ll have the egg ‘n’ effing chips Lovejoy!”

    @desperate-dan

    Is this what kick-starts you @briann?  Not  a whisper or a fling for over three weeks until Jason appears.

    I guess @hunnybunny has a different trigger point. Quite a few actually.

    Well I’m glad you haven’t been blown off your ladder.  Can you just confirm something? Did we ever find out why your wife gave up helping you clean windows? No-one has a ladder round here, just a very long thingummy. Cutting corners, wouldn’t you say?

    Brian N
    @briann

    Reach and wash is for wimps.Nothing like putting your wet  hands on an ice cold aluminium ladder when it’s -2 degrees.

    And no you  never did guess why my wife quit after one day(nothing to do with the above).

    Ah Trigger Point.Love that show.Ben Shephard is a great tv presenter/quiz show host(multi talented).”Ghost drop” “It’s a rider!”…er…wait…that’s Tipping Point isn’t it?

    Trigger Point.Love that show.We have a rule of thumb in our house:if Vicky McClure is in it we watch it.Sorry about the short sentences.Bye.See you in 3 weeks.

    Watching a C4 show called Patience atm really quite good.Set in the beautiful city of York and featuring a girl with autism.Right up my street.

    Our delivery driver Fred said one of his farmer customers has seen a long range weather forecast predicting 110 consecutive days with rain.Families of local window cleaners are on suicide watch.UK grim indeed.

    Bet they’re still on about droughts come July.

    Brian N
    @briann

    Sure enough I’ve looked at my BBC weather app and 14 days of rain with every hour showing raindrops.Noah didn’t have it this bad.

    Is it normal to hide behind the sofa when the weather forecast comes on?https://youtu.be/A09GZeORYlo?si=Y1NimqNeBSdWHZXN

    @briann

    NFL Conference games today and first up we have The Patriots @ Denver.Would’ve made The Bronchos big favourites on home turf but they lost their QB Bo Nix to injury last week so I’m giving The Pats a chance.

    Very stats driven game American football.They have a statistic for everything including QB with the shortest name?You’d think Bo Nix would have it nailed down but no he has to share the honour with Ty Law.It’s a funny old game.

    Desperate Dan
    @desperate-dan

    My god, did you watch this game? Played in a blizzard. Was white such a good colour for the Patriots to wear? Maybe it was, their defence was able to hide. Not that anyone could see very far anyway.

    Brian N
    @briann

    Yep,there snow game like a snow game although they’re becoming less frequent as more teams build new roof covered stadia.Good job Denver pipped New England for no.1 seed or the game would’ve been played at Foxborough which had a foot and a half of snow.

    karen68
    @karen68

    I’m surprised they played at all. A ferocious storm moved through half the US. We  caught it here with some record-setting snow, and we were just on the upper fringes of it.
    But hey, it’s American football. More than just a pastime for them!

    Brian N
    @briann

    Hi @karen68 I saw that on our news at lunch time and Toronto was mentioned so thought I’d better apologise for wittering on about a bit of rain.Has it hit Michigan @catsnbirds and do your squirrels have frozen nuts?

    Desperate Dan
    @desperate-dan

    Ashamed to say @briann that I have been a bit distracted from all that by the news that Nigella Lawson has been recruited onto the Bake Off team.  As if the show’s innuendo quotient wasn’t already off the scale. I am having a moment, not to say a soggy bottom.

    Brian N
    @briann

    Wonder if Harry Hill will dust off his Nigella impersonation on Junior Bake Off?Probably not age appropriate.

    catsnbirds
    @catsnbirds

    Hey @briann , yes, very strange storm. Michigan didn’t really get too much snow, maybe 4 to 6 inches (although it is snowing again this morning), but the extreme cold is not fun. Days and days of below zero temperatures! My sister in Maine got about 18 inches. States to the south that are not used to this are really suffering. Hard to keep the roads plowed when you don’t have plows!
    Meanwhile, the Australian Open continues in record setting heat.

    Brian N
    @briann

    The heat certainly got to Coco Gauff.
