    Wales win a rugby match – check.

    Everything Everything are still rubbish – check

    It’s satire.

    Max Boyce will be sitting on his commode as we speak penning a song about the day The Boyos beat that rugby powerhouse Japan.I think the Welsh Post Office still use carrier pigeon so the lyrics should reach Penarth in a week or two.

    A sporting event rarer than a Welsh rugby win occurred yesterday.I was rooting for Djokovic to win a tennis match.The reason being is because as far Sinner goes he will always be a drugs cheat who got away with it in my mind.

    As you know I don’t follow tennis(not much wimbledon chatter from you lot this year?)So I’d be interested in your take on his minimal ban for being caught not once but twice with illegal substances in his system(anabolic steroids I think).I could do a Google deep dive but tennis doesn’t really interest me enough for that but players have been banned for years for lesser or equivalent offences.I think I’m right in saying he served his ban after the Aussie open and before the French so he didn’t even miss a Grand Slam event.It all seems extremely fishy to me.

    Anyway I hope he never wins another Slam so come on Alcaraz.

    Sinner is good example of nominative determinism.  I wonder if the Russian for Anismova is double bagel?

    We normally hear from @karen68 about this sort of thing.

    Bit like Bob Vylan.

    Have sold for £10,000 less the asking price, have bought, after an awful lot of bartering, for £22,500 less than the asking price. Win, win, win

    It’s a two bed, two bath, flat, with balcony, undercroft parking, within easy walking distance to train, shops and pub. Win, win, win!

    @briann

    You’ll always be a winner in my eyes @hunnybunny(cheque or bank transfer will do).Still in Penarth?

    Speaking of winners I think England have played a blinder in this years summer internationals beating Argentina 2-0 with a team stripped of 10? players who made The Lions squad.Hats off to the arrogant smugtards.

    Brian N
    @briann

    I stand corrected 15 England players called up by The Lions.

    @briann

    Swing low sweet smugtards.

    The latest set of tariff letters sent by Drumpf, apart from apparently being written by a child with a reading age of 9, have offended not only Mexico and the EU but also the Society for the Prevention of Randomly Capitalised Words. If there is not such society then there ought to be one and I am designing the t-shirt.

    Well done on the house front @hunnybunny. All that and the quiz too. I watched Bowie at Live Aid. People in the crowd just seemed to be having a good time. Much more so than these days where it is obligatory to film everything with one’s phone.

    What does Donald have in common with a pelican? A Big Beautiful Bill.

    @catsnbirds

    Brian: But the pelican’s IS actually beautiful.

    Brian N
    @briann

    Hey @catsnbirds I reckon the young Don read the Legend of Robin Hood as a kid and decided the Sheriff of Nottingham was an excellent role model.

    Stealing medicare from the poor and disabled while handing tax cuts to his billionaire pals.Come on now let’s all sing together:

    “He steals from the poor and gives to the rich.Donald Trump,Donald Trump,Donald Trump.”

    Some comedy writer (can’t remember who) was complaining that satire was dead because real life under Agent Orange is so crazy, it is impossible to out-crazy it and sound funny.

    Brian N
    @briann

    Nevertheless I think we should keep trying.See he crashed his clown car into the middle of Chelsea’s CWC celebrations.Don’t think he was breathalysed by NYPD.

    Well done Chelsea btw,world club champions but only just scraping into 5th place in the English Premier League on the last day of the season.What would Jimmy Greaves say?

    Desperate Dan
    @desperate-dan

    It’s supposed to be every four years isn’t it? I bet they’ll be trying to make it every two years next.

    Brian N
    @briann

    Believe it or not I read that idea being mooted somewhere before the tournament started along with an expanded 64 team event.Not sure who by,probably some Orc-like Infantino FIFA underling.Hopefully the poor attendances and terrible ticket sales will put the kibosh on that one.They had an Oasis like dynamic pricing system in operation only in reverse so tickets priced $250 went for a fiver and a packet of fags come game time.

    They will however be keeping the Intercontinental cup every year otherwise known as the FIFA Xmas party.Your old pal Wenger keeps trotting out the idea of a World cup every two years instead of four?!Come on stop Arsene about.

    Not quite Brett Lee territory yet but that Jadeja has been a thorn in England’s side as a batter more than once.

    I see Daniel Beddingfield’s shorts fell down in the middle of a live concert.I’d no idea he had autism.

    Gregg must be cackling as his old mate/not mate John Toad comes under fire from a lot of middle class women of a certain age.

    He does a very good Toad in the Hole, allegedly.

    I reckon any BBC presenter must be feeling queasy atm.In the current climate Maria von Trapp might get cancelled.

    “She called me a Nazi pig!” —- Albert Speer.

    Watched Ballard on Amazon Prime purely because I like Maggie Q (whats not to like?)Kept introducing a character called Bosch who it turns out has 7 series behind him + 3 Bosch Legacy series.Have started watching and must admit I’m hooked.The only downside is he likes jazz.Bloody hell 10 series?!?

    Desperate Dan
    @desperate-dan

    Oh dear, I thought House was bad enough on that score.

    Penalties. Are women any good at taking them? Judging by the England/Sweden fiasco tonight, no. But exciting, yes. England were toast but with a bound they were free.
