    did she just hate it?
    Cricket on Sunday was sunny for an hour, bloody cold after that, and six out of seven hours like watching paint dry…

    Brian N
    @briann

    She enjoyed the process much more than I do @hunnybunny (low bar I must admit)and worked in a fish factory for a year so that’s not it.

    Sure Joe Root will be thrilled with your match synopsis Bunny.Think The Guardian are looking for a cricket correspondent.

    Yes @desperate-dan Dept Q proving to be a gem in Netflix crown.Worked out who was behind the kidnapping halfway through but the joy is in the characterisation and dialogue.Also Akram is a brilliant counterpoint to Carl’s excesses though not averse to the odd windpipe bruising or standing on a crim’s broken leg now and again.Hope the team do more of the books soon.

    You fired her?  You didn’t want to share the screen wiper with her because that’s the best bit of the job.

    Yes, characters are all brilliant, superb acting, tight  script, good pacing. I needed something after the absolute s***e that was most of Dr Who.  BBC main news story was headlined “Ncuti Gatwas renegerates as Billie Piper”. Then the first line of the story was “Caution: this article contains spoilers”. Duh!

    And I hadn’t watched it at that point. Well done BBC, saved me bother of bothering! Back to Netflix.

    What happens in a fish factory? Is there something we should know? Can it lead to long term trauma in cleaning windows?

    Used my senior bus pass for the first time today. Even had a senior moment using it upside down so it didn’t work. Maniac bus driver, a bit white knuckle. If they don’t care about the 20mph speed limit, why should any of us?

    Sorry about the fish factory reference that was a red herring.That said you lot really are clueless so would you like one?Unless our glowing reviews of Dept Q have persuaded others to give it a go this is probably just for you Dan.There is a clue within it’s episodes that’s all I’m saying.

    Hey does anyone remember a cheesy 70’s Brit Cop show called Dept. S?As I recall it was a knock off Avengers(Steed and Peel not Capt. America) and the main guy was a cross between Laurence Llewelin Bowen and Austin Powers with a mad tash.

    Dept. R never really took off…except in Cornwall…ouch…

    Brian N
    @briann

    I did use to clean the windows  of a fish factory inside and out.That was traumatic.

    Jason King / Peter Wingard
    Brain sort of tangled (too much hooch)

    @desperate-dan

    Good clue @brianN (despite 2  misplaced apostrophes in that post).

    She couldn’t stand the pressure!

    Brian N
    @briann

    Just the two?Anyway I give up.How about Peter King?

    Brian N
    @briann

    King Peter?

    After having a vasectomy I was told I wouldn’t have kids anymore but when I got home they were stil there.

    I know a lot of jokes about retired people but none of them work.

    That’s all you’re getting.

    Watched Accountant 2 tonight and though not everything can be Dept Q it wasn’t at all bad.In the first one Ben Affleck was a kind of autistic John Wick part mathematical genius part Ninja assassin.In this one he’s a kind of autistic John Wick etc.However he’s joined by his brother Jon Bernthal and there’s a lot more humour in this one. Recommended.

    What is it about bloody Portugal, they hang around like a fart in a bottle and win tournaments they shouldn’t.Bloody international equivalent of bloody RealMadrid.As for that toothy old fart Ronaldo…

    Desperate Dan
    @desperate-dan

    England 1 Liechtenstein 0

    Belgium 4 Wales 3

    But England were the losers and Wales were the winners.

    (I may have misunderstood the rules somewhere…)

    Brian N
    @briann

    It was Andorra but yes England turgid (emphasis on the turd) Wales terrific.Can’t wait for tonight’s friendly against Senegal just what players need after a full season of footy .0-0 I reckon.

    Not as bad an idea as the ridiculous World Club Cup(or IVP-Infantino vanity project)I’ve said before football has become so greedy it will eventually eat itself and this is just another tournament to make FIFA and the rich clubs richer and see Infantino grandstand with Trump and the Saudi Royals .None of the players want it and I suspect the quality of football will be turd.

    So much steam left in this rant I may return to it.

    Brian N
    @briann

    Looks like Senegal didn’t read the memo.

    Desperate Dan
    @desperate-dan

    I agree with everything you have said. Season it with a little VAR and give it a good stir.

    Talking of season, the new one will begin in about six weeks.

    Desperate Dan
    @desperate-dan

    Wordle streak at 1000 @hunnybunny.  #998 was TAFFY #999 was PLAID.  Both very Welsh. Apparently taffy is a North American sweet, not a Welshman. Plaid I’m sure will send you off into a rant.

    Everyone’s probably seen this but I could watch it all day.
