@grimmjowHow did you find this formula ?
MVNLA2
@mvnla2Rovio has never felt compelled to stick to one formula, just because they started with it. I’m actually surprised there is a simple formula. Haven’t looked at number of mastery point required to level up, but I remember someone saying it was not logical. Anyone interested in figuring it out?
@KillerKea?
KillerKea
@killerkea@grimmjow I am better at math than most people, but that formula is just basic algebra. I needed more than 2 data points to verify my formula was correct which you did earlier.
I’m sure there will be a cap to how much of a discount you get or maybe they will eventually end the discount.
@mvnla2 I could probably figure it out after collecting enough data, but I’m not interested in taking the time to do it.
MVNLA2
@mvnla2@KillerKea — Yeah, I know, I need to spend the time battling caves or portals.
MVNLA2
@mvnla2Been playing Star Reef Castle on auto-play this evening. I think the best set may depend on what level you are relative to the opponents, and what mastery level your birds are.
This combination was suggested by @angryde on the previous page.
Anyway, here’s what is working:
I’m at level 37, my opponents are level 37. Humph! I thought most levels stayed at the level at which you first played them???
My birds are all level 5
Samurai with dragontooth and titangrip (I don’t have a matched set)
Wizard with twin lightning
Driud with yin/yang setAnonymous
@mvnla2 All levels do stay at the level you first played them except for Chronicle Caves which have a set level and Castles Dungeons and Event Battles level up with you.
angryde
@angrydeMy breakdown for SRC is as follows.
Level-37.
Red-Samurai-8, ‘Protector’s Aura’
Matilda-Druid-7, ‘Sweet!’
Chuck-Wizard-7, ‘Reborn’As you can see, I go **defensive** when I farm.
This maximizes survivability + ensures multiple zombie-pig respawns during wave-4 (when the auto-play bot is at its absolute dumbest). Lulz!
Always gives me great, fast and reliable results.
mich
@m-ichAbsolutely agree with you on why Star Reef on Auto Play is (by far) the best way to earn snoutlings. I am usually using a team without a dedicated healer that works pretty reliably:
Wizard, Captain (with golden gun for extra snoutlings), Spies (with beep attack)
Auto Play will use the Spies’ healing if a bird is damaged too bad, but focus on attacking most of the time, clearing the castle quite quickly (for me, it’s the quickest team I tried). An added bonus is that I really like these three classes and use them quite often outside of auto play, so the added mastery is very much appreciated.

@grimmjow@MVNLA2 :
Given that the enemies have the same level as we, the only way of gaining an advantage on them is the rank ?
Concerning the rank, there is not at present a level 11 ? Anybody has already reached the level 10 to confirm it ?
Finally, for set of complete item, how did you make to have it so much ? I has the only one of it of complete, normal that I have a hard time a little more there autoplay.
MVNLA2
@mvnla2@grimmJow — Rank does help. Max of 10 rank has been confirmed (see forum on Mastery, mine that is). I was using the guaranteed set item with every roll on a friend’s machine while it was available, so go a set item every day. Most were duplicates, however. The guaranteed set item exploit has been destroyed by Rovio in latest update. Not to mention we aren’t getting any free rolls from friends right now.
BrighteyesLC7
@brighteyeslc7Not sure if it’s new as of the last update, but killing Prince Porky in the Desert Pig Castle gives you 100 snoutlings. Not a hard battle but you need low power birds to beat the last level. I use Druid Matilda, Marksmen Blues and Rainbird Chuck.
MVNLA2
@mvnla2@brighteyesLC7 — I think it’s not new, and was reported on a previous page. Although with 8 pages, I can understand why you didn’t read every one, but you might have missed something useful. Reading backwards might be the most efficient.
MVNLA2
@mvnla2Trying @burbman’s strategy on Mouthpool:
I’m level 37
Druid with Yin/Yang set is mastery 5
Captain with pistol (pickpocket) set is mastery 5
McCool is level 35 mastery 1!
And I thought the free birds were the same level as you!
First time McCool died in 3rd from last wave, giving 170 snoutlings
Second time I am timing it; took 6 min to get to 3rd to last wave with about 100 snoutlings.
[Edit]:
Took 57- min for McCool to die, giving 309 snoutlings
Snoutlings/min = 16.7 for first 6 min
S/m = 4.1 for next 51 min
This really is a level to play on auto-play when you don’t want to use your device for a while!
MVNLA2
@mvnla2Tried Star Reef Castle just now. Used several combinations of birds, best may be Samurai, Wizard, and Druid.
Got 415 snoutlings in 46 min for 8 battles. So overall rate was 9 snoutlings per min.
With Samurai, Wizard, and Druid
Got 268 snoutlings in 15 min for 3 battles. So overall rate was 17.9 snoutlings per min.
My combination of birds does not win all the time.
My conclusion is that if you are willing to monitor every 3 or 4 minutes, you are better off in Star Reef Castle, but if you want to leave your device for an hour or so, the Mouth Pool is great.
KillerKea
@killerkeaIt sounds like you only won 3 out of the 8 times because you should be averaging close to 125 snoutlings per successful battle. Your main problem is that you didn’t choose very good birds to use since you don’t have a bird that can dispel Wizpig’s ability to greatly increase the damage he does. You need to have either Tricksters or Captain on your team. The AI uses Tricksters a little better than it uses Captain. If you won the 8 battles that would be 1000 snoutlings in 46 min or 22/min with the bonus of increasing mastery for 3 birds at a much faster rate instead of 2 birds which hardly gain any mastery.
RedKnight
@redknightHey guys, I learned recently from this very thread about autoplaying SRC, so I wanted to thank you for the info and to share my experience (and a little TRICK!):
Regarding the team comp. I found the Samurai with both hammers, Druid with the scythe set, and Captain(I’d rather Tricksters instead of bomb, but mine are only lvl. 4) with rock-paper-scissors (I don’t have the golden pistol) to be the bests, besides dispelling Wizpig and shielding from his nuke, sometimes my birds can succesfully stunlock him, finishing him in 2-3 turns, unharmed.
Now, the “trick” consists in watching the video that grants you increased HP and DMG before starting this battle, it’s a nice boost (since all my birds are lvl. 5), BUT THE BEST PART IS THAT YOU KEEP THE BUFF EVERYTIME YOU RESTART THE BATTLE!
Just keep an eye on your phone and make sure you have the proper screen settings, mine just locked so I lost the effect because the game restarted xD
angryde
@angryde@redknight. Very good point re: the +10% health/attack damage video. I forgot to mention in my SRC farming post… that I ALWAYS tend to save the ‘video bonus’ for my evening farming session. As a result, my level-37 birds (Red-Samurai-8, ‘Protector’s Aura’) (Matilda-Druid-7, ‘Sweet!’) (Chuck-Wizard-7, ‘Reborn’) NEVER, EVER DIE. As you righty pointed out, as long as you replay the battle immediately, the bonus buff remains in effect. My combination insures 100% survivability and maximum undead pig re-spawns (because of my defensive arrangement – which is offset damage-wise by the ‘video bonus’ of +10% on attack). Following @mvnla2 ever-practical lead, here are my (averaged) numbers (across 10 battles). SRC battle time: 00:04:56. Snoutlings earned: 138. Snoutlings per minute: 27.6. Snoutlings per hour: 1656.
MVNLA2
@mvnla2@angryde — Just curious — I got four (4!) notices from you about your post above! Did you edit your post 3 times? Used to be that notices weren’t sent for edits. Would be interesting if we now got notices for posts that were edited.
cc @amslimfordy @Birdleader
angryde
@angryde@mvnla2 @amslimfordy @Birdleader – no need to worry, it’s completely my fault. I kept adding absurd detail to my last post… oh, add that (save), oh, add that (save), and on and on it went. Sincere apologies for any and all associated annoyance. :) I’ve just ‘lost’ so many posts through a lack of caution on my part… I fear I’ve become a tad obsessive (MS-Word related traumas no-doubt compound my mania).
KillerKea
@killerkeaIn angryde’s case his birds are powerful enough to absorb a blow from WizPig even with the enhanced damage enabled. Most people probably have birds with mastery levels of 6 or lower and those levels are not high enough to survive an enhanced damage attack from WizPig on auto play. That is why you need a bird that can dispel. The blues headsets all have the ability to dispel, but the AI isn’t intelligent enough to save rage chili and use Egg Surprise which is why you need to use Captain or Tricksters.
MVNLA2
@mvnla2Trying the ghost ship today with McCool, Paladin, and Druid. Think I should have used Sea Dog with pickpocket set instead of Paladin, but won’t be able to try that for a week.
This week’s results weren’t that good. Getting 3.6 snoutlings per min. Would be better off in Star Reef Castle. So that’s where I’ll go after I complete the Ghost Ship. -
