Daily Challenge – what's the verdict?

7/21 (Snotting Hill) – Fairly hard but I won on the third attempt. Cleared the top structure with silver, used Chuck to get Chef down (thankfully he was tiptoeing on the edge of the platform below where he was) and used Red to send him down the slide.

Today (Fluttering Heights) – Unlike Beaver, I won on my second attempt. On the boss level, I used red to destroy the structures on top, then used bomb to send Foreman into the flower, and then Chuck to send Foreman to his doom.

Unfortunately, I got more unnecessary Chili from the chest.

It seems that the Daily Challenges have gotten slightly easier (for me at least) after the update. Before, it was near impossible without using gems on the third level, but now the second stage is easier and I’ve won on the 3rd stage a few times (without spending gems).

Think it’s a bit mean having magician pigs in the Boss rooms. At least you can use strategy to get other enemies. The magician is just a bird waster.

7/23: 11 attempts; 100 Matilda feathers; I hate teleport pigs!

I’ve won on the fourth attempt and I got 100 Terence feathers from the chest. And yeah, I hate those magician pigs too! They should only be used on the pigsyland and Halloween levels, IMO.

7/24 Easy money, won in 1st. 100 silver feathers in chest.

Yeah, this wasn’t a bad Pigsyland DC. I won on the second try and I wish I had your prize, Beaver (she’s in the 1200+ mark), but the 100 Chuck feathers I got from he chest isn’t so bad.

7/25 7th attempt; 2 golden dicks in chest

Really not worth the effort when the DC features a bird maxed out at 13. No feathers, only spells and I really don’t need spells. Seems like the game would let you “bank” feathers like the treasure chest or the arena. Example: I just finished a 7 streak that put me over 2600 points. The overage is “banked” for applying to level 14 when it goes live. Why doesn’t the DC do the same thing?

I won the water level on the fourth attempt, but I got two unnecessary blizzards. Now I’m really afraid of the dreaded Gravity Grove.

7/26 8th attempt; 100 red feathers.

No wonder I was so worried about Gravity Grove — that was brutal. I did win on the sixth try after using some gems. That earned me some Silver feathers from the chest.

I normally enjoy Gravity Grove challenges, but in this one they strung together pretty much all the rooms that make me tear my hair out due to how vanishingly small your chances are of clearing two structures with a single bird. Finally made it to the boss and somehow got him stuck on the ceiling with a barely visible sliver of red left in his life meter and no birds to spare. Grrrr. Tried again later and finally got back to the boss with only Terence handy, and thought I was doomed due to the boss falling into the bottom portal almost right away and ending up down by the slingshot. Terence fell through after him, bounced off, and due to some extreme good luck, bounced off of some other stuff and came right back again to finish him off. Um… OK, I could never have planned that victory, but I’ll take it.

7/27 2nd attempt; 250 yellow feathers; logging in issue; reinstalling; new DC; 1st attempt; 100 red feathers.

After a good run recently on the Daily Challenges had to give up on yesterday’s Gravity Grove, and today’s looked to be equally daunting. Took numerous attempts to pass the first Boss room using a minimum of three birds and even reach the 4th of 6 rooms – but having eventually got to the penultimate it was plain sailing to finish with a strike and a birdie, so glad I didn’t give up after repeated failures.

7/30 1st attempt; 2 ducks. Actually today 2 first levels were harder.

After the last 4 DCs in which I came so close and had to use gems, I was lucky not to use gems and won on the first try in the Hamberg DC. But I got more unnecessary chili anyway.

Won the Oinklahoma DC in four tries, but I got 250 Red feathers!
