Yeah, we had this same boss in a DC not too long ago. Save Bomb for the final screen. Fire him downwards and detonate right above the balloon holding the boss in. Everything else on the screen is a red herring.

I had this EXACT same boss in my DC today. Guess I did it wrong because @david-martin’s strategy did not work for me. However, my final bird was Chuck. Fired him at the trampoline to the far right, he bounced off, bounced off again on the left trampoline and hit Moustache Pig in such a way that he just fell straight down and I won. Phew.

It’s possible my solution is an exploit that only works on certain devices (I’m on an iPhone 6s; it worked back when I had an iPod Touch 5 as well). It certainly doesn’t seem to be the solution the developers intended.

Same device here! But maybe I shot it at the wrong corner?
Bomb detonated on the “roof” of Foreman Pig’s shelter. Should I have let him detonate to the right of his shelter to make the right balloon pop? I never used that strategy before, always tried to clear the structures to make a bird bounce off twice and break Foreman Pig’s shelter from below.

No, on the “roof” should work. Exactly above the balloon, detonate right as you hit the “roof”.

I’ve never baten that boss the conventional way. Tried in vain a few times when I had extra birds and/or forgot to save Bomb because I didn’t know this one was coming. Seems like it’s a really tough shot to make, plus you need at least two birds to clear the debris first.

It wasn’t exactly above the balloon :( No wonder it failed.

I beat the boss the conventional way twice now. I’m used to pixel work and far-distance aiming from the first Angry Birds generation :P

I have burned eight lives and can’t get through the second level today. On the positive side, looks like I won’t be spending any gems today barring some kind of miracle.

Edit: Well, I did get through it at the cost of 60 gems. Chest gave me a pig inflator. At least it wasn’t a chili.

Today’s challenge: set micropigs as far away from the catapult as possible, thus nullifying half your flock because they can’t possibly reach it, then fill the space between with laser pigs, rocket pigs, beanie pigs, and construction pigs.

But surprisingly I got through it without having to waste any gems. Was rather anti-climactic actually…

@david-martin I gotta thank you for that hint. In yesterday’s DC, I’ve used Bomb to detonate that balloon holding Foreman and he bounced and landed right on the bottom platform. I then used my last bird Terrence to hit Foreman and somehow Foreman rolled to the left to his doom! And I conquered that evil DC on my FIFTH try without having to use any gems!

My Rewards from the two chests? 100 feathers for Matilda and 150 feathers for Terrence! Boo-yah! :D

@reddie250 – That’s weird. Usually once I set the boss free using Bomb, I don’t need another bird, he just bounces to his death. Sounds like you got unlucky and he somehow safely landed on another platform, but he was still easier to deal with at that point than he otherwise would have been, so I’m glad it worked out for you.

Nice easy one today, very straightforward with the purple ******* (miner pig?) the only real threat.
The chest yielded 150 feathers for Terrence (in desperate need of them) so somewhat mollified after my recent chilli collection in the Daily Challenge.
Might be worth mentioning – my Boss level was only 5 rooms, so could have been a lot harder!

Does any body else think the daily challanges are crap. There so hard I’ve never made to the end !! I take that back I made it once but only got to look at it . This only seems like another way for this company to rap us for more money and take all fun out of this game . I’m a tipping point on saying screw them but hold out hope they will Inprove

I got 7 rooms on the boss level. Used up 6 birds to get through the first room. Single micropigs built into stone structures on balloons floating randomly throughout the screenspace, virtually impossible to clear with just a couple of birds. I shut it off immediately, got better things to spend my time on than this garbage.

I get it Rovio, but I won’t be spending one more cent on this game.

@douglass – I think they’re crap sometimes. Some days I’m pretty sure they’re literally impossible without spending gems on spells or extra birds. That does strike me as a money grab on Rovio’s part, so the best thing to do is just defy them by not paying for any extras. If you’ve spent a few lives and are nowhere near the end of it, don’t keep wasting your time.

At other times, the DC is actually quite easy. Most of the time it’s in between – reasonably challenging and takes several tries, but it’s not over-the-top ridiculous. I suppose it’s expected that the difficulty level of the challenges will vary, and that since you don’t absolutely have to pass them to progress in the game, some of them will be harder than the actual game levels they borrow elements from.

Figuring out your personal limit, when it’s good to call it a loss and save yourself the frustration, versus when you are so close that you can probably get it if you just keep trying, is a really good skill to develop.

Over 100 points ahead of my nearest rival in diamond league in the arena, thought I’d give DC ago while waiting for arena timer to count down.

Easy DC today, did it first time in one go. Got to last room and only had one bird, Terrence and he did the business! 100 bomb and 100 Matilda feathers, thank you.

Today’s DC makes me wonder if the reward is now based on how difficult your DC is… I got a fairly easy one (3-4-4 waves) but also no Blizzard and only a turnout of 100 instead of 200 feathers for Mathilda.

Well I am glad some of you are getting through it. I have already burned five lives and now trying it again. At least I am on the third level. I wonder if that feature will change with the new update?

Edit: Meh, got through it but it cost me gems.

Like Aeshna, I thought today’s challenge was relatively easy. I had the usual 3 rooms to start,then a 5 and another 5 for the Boss, and got 150 feathers from the chest.
When I hear others are struggling it seems to be because they have a 6 or even 7 room Boss, which is anything but easy! It would surely be fairer if it was a level playing field and we all got the same?
