I have enjoyed collecting data it actually gives me something else to do in the game. For my next move I am tracking Valiant procs. Should be easier since I both use and play against it.

Currently at #13 on my board. Extremely competitive and a lot of players collect arena points in battles rather than objectives. I’m gonna try and at least stay in Silver; currently lacking time since my semester started.

@pointless no i think @bubbley did the math right. 96 out of 1006 is roughly less than 1%. I might start keeping track myself and see what results I get.

EDIT: scratch my idiot math – Spent too long staring at scripts all day.

Anyways, I’d like to track my TJ procs vs my opponents TJ procs over the next couple weeks and see what I get.

My Diamond board is very competitive, and I just cannot hold on to 1st with a pack of a half-dozen other players grinding for points. I’m gonna settle for 2 stars at 4th/5th.

@pointless I said I have maxed gear for my level and league which is currently Platinum. I have a fully enchanted Valiant set at Level 43 (at XP level 41) with a fully enchanted 3 star Resurrection. Currently I am at power level 1280-1300 (depending on which bird I choose) but the players I am encountering are all about 1500+ this week which never happened before and when I am playing for the objectives thus, my birds are getting one shot to death. I can complain when it is obviously against me.
Also, you want proper data? I will give you proper data after this day completes.

@datguygamer I am now collecting Valiant procs because it seems that the enemy has more than me. If any one else feels inclined to collect this data your help would be much appreciated. It’s always better to have independent figures. If you do collect please collect all knock outs including those that occur as the banner falls and collect data on each battle rather than a running total. That is what I have done.

So far I have data on 33 battles. It is interesting:
I have been knocked out 148 times Valiant has activated for 90 of those which is 60%.
My opponent has been knocked out 127 times and Valiant has activated 83 times which makes 65%.

The sample is too small to be definitive so I intend to collect 1000 knock outs for both myself and my opponent.

The number of stars determines the number of shots you get at the 10 Shard prize.

@graugeist That’s an obvious given (more stars equal more chances) but I was more so asking if there is a bonus staying in Top 3 Diamond or not which @partshade mentions that there is none. So once I reach Diamond, it’s just meh for me.

I feel like there should be some kind of extra reward for reaching the highest league AND getting into Top 3. Maybe some sort of Arena Calendar that gives you bonus shards for your performance and some other reward that accumulates and increases if you manage to reach Diamond without being demoted or stay at a consistent position in each league.

No, that’s it. 3 Stars spin for 3 slots looking for the 10 shards.

Diamond Top 3 should probably give some Shards instead of Snouts. That would be a real motivation to play hard in Diamond.

There really currently isn’t much motivation to compete in Diamond except the shards, and unless you have the FE, it’s a crap shoot anyways. Exemplified by my bracket right now. I am first by over 10K (granted the double medals help) simply because I am also collecting data on Valiant procs, both for and against.

I need help with an objective: Knock out 10 birds and win 3 battles.

How do I do that? My birds are splash damaging the banner and thus ending the battle destroying it before I knock 10 birds even when I purposefully leave the banner out. Do I seriously have to knock 10 birds in a single battle? I am either being matched against too powerful opponents where I cannot take the risk or being matched against too weak opponents. What do I do?

@datguygamer I can’t help you with mega opponents but here’s the team I’ve always used for this:

Paladin with Protecters Aura, Wizard with Twin Lightning, Bard with Nightmare, Blessed Set with Knock Out.

Very tanky and provides some spread AOE damage but not enough to put the opponents banner in danger of a KO. Also provides a high chance of stun.

Yes you need to KO 10 Birds in a single battle. Just buff as much as you can when all birds are down.

For the 10 birds in 1 fight, I typically do that one first. Non-AOE birds, and non-Chain weapons, no Chuck:
– TJ Valiant
– Sweet Witch
– Finisher Sea Dog
– Artillery TH
Prefer to fight enemy teams with healers.

Yes, Valiant has Chain, but it should happen rarely enough that you can get your 10 KOs in. Heal my Banner so I don’t lose, hit really hard, and ignore their Banner so I don’t win too soon.

It is easier when you have a wider choice of Birds and Sets, but the ideas are fine.

@graugeist @partshade Thanks for the suggestions but I am unfortunately being pitted against the same guy YAOER who has a rating of 1587 and has Weakened Healing as their Emblem. Thus he hits hard and doesn’t let me heal much. What was that trick again to change opponents?

Next week Platinum again and Gold League collection 100% complete. After that my first ever Diamond League.

Is it just me or is the matchmaking system wonkier than before? Why am I being matched against players that are 100+ over me in terms of power? What exactly is determined for matchmaking? XP, Power, league what is it?

@bubbley I currently have fair data regarding Valiant procs for and against, not yet a thousand though. Do you want to wait until we both (and others?) have enough collected and report together?
I am collecting individual battle data this time, but am unsure if its use in this particular case, unless you are looking for a median number as well?

Sorry @pointless @bubbley haven’t really playing the arena and in 33/6 play Vallaint is too rare. I do not have Vallaint(not even part of it), so i cannot track it.

I am seriously a blind person for not noticing until now that starting from the Gold League, the normal banner items dropped from the GAPM is more powerful than the Set Items (unenchanted that is)!

So, one question: Did people use the normal items as their banner until Enchantment happened or did they still use set items for the set bonus?

@pointless I have over 600 for both myself and opponent and 146 battles. I was thinking of a median but I’m not sure it’s useful. I am tired of collecting to be honest. I found it difficult in some battles with TJ and several Valiant procs at once. I have omitted battles when I wasn’t 100% sure. I am confident my data is accurate. I think together we must have a good sample so I am happy to call it a day.

My result is surprising:

I was knocked out 669 times. Valiant triggered 448 times which is 66.9%.

My opponent was knocked out 614 times. Valiant triggered 404 times which is 65.8%.

Since a fair number of my opponents use the Resurrection emblem I am not surprised I was knocked out more often. I only lost one battle.

We could pool our data I think that is legitimate.

If these results are significantly different from yours I will continue to get a bigger sample.

@datguygamer that has always been the trade off. Banner Sets are inherently weaker in terms of Health so it becomes a choice. Really is dependent on which Sets one possesses, but generally the bonuses from the Sets are better than any additional stats provided by non-Set equipment, so they are used much more often (even pre-Enchantment).
