I’m not sure what you mean by “friendship wheel”? I was talking about re-spinning the reward wheel by using friendship essence (the pink heart-shaped currency).
Being level 80 with relatively low mastery classes, and/or relatively weak weapons is actually fine, I think, since the game only matches you up against opponents with power levels around 15% – 25% higher than your own, no matter how high you manage to get yours. (Obviously at some point there’s an upper limit, and you end up fighting against teams that are equally as powerful as your own, but that requires fully enchanted weapons, shields, etc., which is extremely difficult to achieve.)
For what it’s worth, I still occasionally have some battles that take me five, six, seven minutes as well, even though all my birds are L80/M80, and most of my weapons and off-hand items are L80/E5. My average is probably around four minutes, though I’ve never actually kept track, so I’m just guessing here.
But yeah, the job and the family are the real impediment to doing well in this game! If you can’t devote six hours/day to it, don’t worry. That makes you just like most of the rest of us. The fact that you’re even IN gold league at this point is pretty impressive. I’m still in Silver, myself. (Although I’ll be moving up to Gold this week, for sure. Unless someone makes a crazy run in the next couple of days, I’ll be winning my leaderboard. I’m at 43,220 at the moment, for reference.)
As for the players with weak banners and strong birds, I think that’s their way of creating mismatches. Keeping a weak banner allows them to fight against teams with relatively stronger banners, but relatively weaker birds, which may be an easier way to play. I’ve never tried it, but that’s probably the theory behind why they do it. Maybe it’s worth a try?
