Advertisement/video bugs

We keep running into terrible ads, that hopefully are bugs. So I’m starting a thread for mention/discussion of them.

I’ll start with this one:

The past two days, I’ve had my worst ad ever. The pre-roll before a competition run is a video touting Kellogg’s Special K. It’s longer than 2 minutes, vs. the standard of 7 seconds or less, but that’s not its worst aspect. What’s really horrible is that, even though I play with the sound turned off in my settings, the sound comes on for this video!!!! The only way I could shut it up was to close the game and lose my run.

And by the way, I won yesterday’s competition by 9 points. Had I lost closely instead, this post would not be nearly so calm.

My tech situation — I play on an iPad 3 with the latest version of iOS.

More about the ad — a lot of talking by a woman about her life. She has wavy dark hair, may be African-American.

No idea what the link is, or even how I’d find out.

But I just lost my second consecutive run to the ad. I am now steaming angry.

I got it like four times the other day, both on ABT, and Epic. AWFUL. I haven’t seen it since though, so hopefully they nipped it in the bud already.
