The hardest and longes one it’s 1000vs Racers ; which one I am 52% . On 500 000 Coins I am 82% ; then on Jenga GAMES 100, I am 16% ..!! Soon I’ll be on vacation ..!!! I’ll have a lot time to Race.!!! I may come back to race on Challenges.

And @abgofast, something weird has been happening lately, probably for almost a week now I have not had you on the list of people who I can send a Lucky Box to. I don’t know if I have too many FB friends (because of AB Epic) or if it has something to do with you being on Android. So I am thankful for all of the Lucky Boxes that you have been sending me lately, but you may as well send them to others until you receive one from me, which will mean that I got the issue resolved. I really hate to keep getting gifts and not be able to return the favor :)

The other weird thing is that although I can see a big list of friends to send the Lucky Boxes to, I can’t see anyone’s scores anymore. It just has a list of people who are AB Epic friends who don’t play AB Go! and the word “Invite” below. I should probably ask Rovio what’s going on…

And remember… keep going fast! Our fearless leader @nacho18 is on vacation soon and is planning on locking himself in the basement and racing non-stop for two weeks so he can be first to 2,000! :)

Last night, I was able to watch the commercials on the app 5 times! That gave me 3 * 5 = 15 free gems … I’m sure the person who programmed that at Rovio has been fired…guess I will find out when I start playing tonight if it works again lol.

@dbkraemer — I’m off work until next Wednesday so I’m on vacation but it only means more time to play AB Go! Re: Lucky boxes … thank you for explaining you have a problem sharing with me. I’ve shared boxes with all my iOS friends and also my two loyal Android friends @aftarquino and @wazemank….when you coming back to me @alcusto? ;) So far, since the last update, I only got boxes from them.

I first thought it must mean that all you iOS users are living up to your “too greedy” reputation (kidding) … you can all share amongst yourselves but wouldn’t dare lower yourselves to give something to Android user! (more kidding) HAHAHAHA

Reality is that I used to receive lucky boxes in the past from @nacho18 and @philhayler, @platium too but I guess this must be a recent development…maybe has to do with latest iOS update happening before the Android one???? Please bug Rovio about this bug. Too curious to know what they say about it.

Well special thanks to Abe Goracer’s PSA announcement and attempt to recruit me to the RCMP that I did actually did some physical activity … ironically his message came through to my phone while I was plugged into my music during my usual 10 km morning run …. needless to say, after the laughing stopped, it motivated me just a bit! Spent another hour at my noon “spin” class at the gym … however, the afternoon turned to rain so the golf game got delayed till Saturday and this means….drum roll…

1,800 challenges completed:

@dbkraemer @abgofast. You brought up the problem of sharing lucky boxes with android users which I have been experiencing all along right from the start. I tried sending to @wazemank and he did not get the boxes. He was able to send me though and I really feel bad not being able to reciprocate. Stranger still is that I was not even able to send to @angryde and @dbkraemer too even though I was able to at the start of joining FB but the occurences were rare since I am terrible at catching the boxes. However this did not stop all my FB pals from sending me their lucky boxes and i must say they are truly awesome! :)

@alcusto. It’s been a while since I passed that challenge but in my experience the “splat x fruit in a row without steering” challenges are a bit buggy. I think my solution to that was to trick the counter into staying onscreen by pausing and re-starting the game every few seconds.

@ABGOFAST. Congratulations! 30 challenges in 24 hours is an amazing accomplishment! That is 3 “use all PU’s 3 times” and 6 “use King Sling 7x” for a whopping price of 696 gems! I see a gem roughly every third race. How in the world are you harvesting that many gems? And once you get past challenge 50 or so, do you see any variety to the challenges? I didn’t once I got past the 5 kart/more time drifting sequence.

@pba2014 – When I got to 1,753 challenges I was pretty much out of gems so I had to decide on the long harvesting process or take advantage of the discounted gem sale prices and treat (and lower) myself to a IAP package of 1,200 gems. The price was $15.35 for 1,200 (today’s on my app it’s showing $21.78 so I guess the summer sale is over).

So yeah “gasp!” ..”say it ain’t so ABGoFast”…well kiddies, I never claimed to be a clean racer…I sometimes treat myself to PEGs (performance enhancing gems) … it gives you a rush like no other … way better than just going fast. It’s like going super fast!

I do admire all the clean / no IAP-PEG racers out there but harvesting gems is not much fun. Here are my top 5 favorite things to do to harvest them though…I can probably get about 50 to 75 in one gaming session but no @angryde when it comes to being a harvesting master:

1. daily event = 10
… obvious to all of us
2. watch video = 15
… last two times I’ve done this, I could watch 5 videos * 3 gems once a day
3. seedway track #2 – fruit splat
… almost always 2 or 3 gems on this track every second race
4. rocky road track #2 – time boom
… almost always 2 or 3 gems on this track every second race
5. lucky boxes – don’t use the rewards
… I’ve seen some posts that these are more rare in this update for iOS…not on android…my app friends should know, I’ve given at least 3 to 5 to each of them in the last week
… I have also noticed that if you get all the special “free” items and don’t use them, they don’t repeat…then the game seems to only give you +3 gems OR any of the 4 power ups…unfortunately you also run the risk of getting the +200, +500, +800 lousy bird coins (btw…over 7 million of those now!)
6. multi-player
… when I seem to win the 5 races (don’t get me started on some of the crap programming inside this setup), the rewards have mostly been gems or coins … since it’s 50/50 on this, I don’t waste my time with this option cause doing 5 wins and getting +500 or +200 bird coins usually means I’m adding my own coins to the swear jar!

As far as the repetition of challenges goes, it’s sucking the life out of me … no variety at all … same 10 or so then they repeat over and over (am I Bill Murray in Groundhog day??) … the next new ABGo! update has to breath life into the game for me by taking this multi-player thing to the next level OR open a new track with new driver characters (cough…Stella’s new friends? the Transformers? so many new games coming that I worry we won’t get much anytime soon)

The only reason I’m still playing ABGo! (besides the growing addiction to PEGs) is for some silly reason the idea of getting 2,000 challenges and achieving @nacho18’s forum goal is consuming me! I must have it. It will be mine … my precious!

SPOILER ALERT — to follow up on the comments @pba2014 and I shared earlier, about how repetitive the challenges are in the game. I refer to this as “THE LOOP”

I’m about to list the 10 challenges for “RACE” format type that I believe repeats itself on a loop for at least Seedway and Rocky Road episodes but I haven’t confirmed Stunt and Sub Zero yet. I know Air is a bit different but has a very similar loop.

Don’t keep reading if you don’t want to know what’s coming up but I give some hints for harder challenges :)

For my list I will start with race challenge #73 working up to #82. These 10 require 280 gems to complete to pass power up challenges. (Assumes you already have 5 karts or you will get stuck at #76)

Completely trash 3 opponents (off the sling or time jumps to land on racer)

Use all PU’s in 3 races (recommend 200 gems to purchase 5 of each PUs),

Collect 25 coins while drifting in a race

Don’t collect any coins,

Tailgate an opponent for 15 seconds,

Stay in 1st for all of 2 races in a row
Could be the “hardest” challenge to do on some levels —
You usually need a king sling so I recommend using 40 gems to purchase 5
slings. Use 2 of them and save 3 for upcoming challenge 77. To make
lifer easier, use a drivers with speed boosts as special power like
Blues, Red or Chuck. For some trackes, you need to combine these two
items with also a leaf blower and/or target kart to keep lead)

Spin 360 degrees and finish 1st,

Overtake 4 racers without steering,

Collect 60 coins while in the air

@ABGOFast. Thanks for the follow up. I wanted to make sure you weren’t holding out info on some secret gem treasure trove. :)

As Lance Armstrong learned in the Alps around 20 years ago, if you are surrounded by very good riders who are taking PEDs or PEGs, you cannot compete without doing the same. Your investment seems like a wise one – 1200 gems is 16-24 DAYS of gem farming. A devastating blow to other riders unless they want to drop $100 U.S. for 6500 gems to make the end around.

Don’t know if anyone has seen Rovio’s earnings releases, but they have admitted that they haven’t been very good at playing the IAP game. Clash of Clans and now the Kim Kardashian game, of all things, are destroying them in the market. (I think it was Jimmy Kimmel who said: if you are sitting on your couch doing nothing, aren’t you already playing the Kim K game? But I digress.)

Rovio first admitted their earnings were poor in April, which I think was around the time they started trying to be more aggressive/cheap with gem distribution (1 gem vs. 3 for completing challenges). To me, it is not worth investing in the game because the last few upgrades have been poor:

*Weekly tournament awards prizes randomly vs. on merit – lame
*Multiplayer is a joke – Seedway and Rocky road are way too easy, the other levels have racers with power ups, the system crashes as I cross the finish line
*Sub zero has been a disappointment from the error-ridden challenges (splat fruit! Use boost pads!) to the un-imaginative challenges (use King Sling 7 times and all Power Ups 3 times!) to the ridiculous track 3 featuring opponents who re-spawn 25% of the way forward on the track.

Not sure if this is new or if it has been mentioned/discovered before, but this will probably be of special interest to @nacho18:

Stella seems to work wonderfully for the “Completely trash 3 opponents” challenges. So far it has worked on Seedway and on Air. Not sure about the other tracks because I haven’t run across the need to try it on them yet.

Try to get just behind a pack of racers. This often happens if you miss landing on an opponent from the slingshot, but you can also try to do this on purpose. Once you are close behind the pack, use Stella’s special power. This surrounds her with the bubble, but more importantly, it lifts your kart slightly off the ground. Her bubble hits the opponent in the head and knocks him off his racer, completely trashing him.

I’d love to hear if this works for anyone else, and again, my apologies if this is an already know method.

Keep going fast!!! Except for @abgofast. (Did I say that out loud or was I just thinking it?) :D

More SPOLIERS below … here is “the ten challenge loop” experienced on most Fruit Splat Episodes. I recommend having about 250 gems to make it work. Fruit splat seem to be pretty fair in terms of inexpensive yet time consuming challenges …. here’s the ten challenge loop for Seedway and I also believe Rocky Road.

70 — LOOP STARTS

Splat more melons than other fruit,

Use all PU’s in 3 races,
— recommend spending 200 gems on discounted adding quantity of 5 of each of the 4 PUs to your bank. Alternatively, if you can’t get to 200 gems, regular add of the 4 PUs costs you 50 gems per race or 150 to do the 3 races.

Splat 40 fruit without steering
— my strategy is simple…just launch and let the kart and driver do it’s own thing…I recall someone calling this “auto pilot” mode. Also, Hal’s hurricane is useful here to splat fruits in large amounts

Be 1st to launch twice

hi @abgofast, I nave a question for you which can be of interest for others as well. After the latest update, did you ever come across a “skip next challenge for free” prize lucky box?
It seems these do not exist anymore

@alcusto … yeah … iOS users complained about this problem when the new update came out. The week or two that we had the last of the old release, I got 5 “skip next challenges for free” over a 3 or 4 day period. Once I updated to current released, not a one …. I guess they have gone the way of the dinosaurs….extinct.

Could it have to do with Rovio’s earnings requirement for this game? My guess is they sunk a lot more than most of their other apps into the programming development, marketing and overall infrastructure supporting it. Maybe they’re still not getting the earnings on it as fast or as much as they hoped? I hope I’m wrong cause the game won’t see a lot of releases if it’s not earning them much.

I say all this with no proof but simply @pba2014 ‘s comments echoing in my ear about Rovio’s struggle with IAP earnings. This really surprises me. If they do struggle in the IAP space compared to other app providers, this is the game in their current list of apps that will suffer the most.

I thought they would be all over the right way to price all this IAP stuff given their high customer loyalty to their brand (I mean who here doesn’t have just about every app they every released?) & the uniqueness of the Hasbro-Telepods marketing play to help them make further sources of earnings.

The game has become more and more difficult to advance in the game without considerable IAPs or Telepod usage that it’s difficult to call it “a free game” even though they allow you to open all the tracks and episodes without any purchase.

@abgofast thanks pal. That sux! In the last update @Rovio did very bad:

– they reduced the amount of gems in lucky boxes from 5 to 3
– they eliminated the “skip next challenge for free” prize
– they increased (which means higher probability to get one of these) the wtf bird coin prizes by inserting the 500, 800 and 1200 prizes
– they eliminated the possibility ro replay the daily challenges (which means that in case of crash bye bye gems)

The above adds to previous awful decisions: power-up costs from bird coins to huge amounts of gems, reduced daily challenge prizes by half, reduced from 3 to 1 the amount of gems gained from passing 3 sets of challenges, increased the gem cost of L1 karts for all tracks, etc.

That’s too bad and I don’t accept that decreasing earnings justify that we loyal players get treated like this considering the amount of money we all paid.

@pba2014 thank you for your kind advice on the challenge which is blocking my way on Air: Track #3, Fruit Splat 23: splat 40 fruit in a row without steering

I have tried your suggestion to trick the counter into staying onscreen by pausing and re-starting the game every few seconds. Indeed the counter reappears onscreen, but that does not mean that it increases from that number immediately after hitting the next fruit without steering. Nothing changes.
I’m starting to think that this is a TIC because the counter resets to zero automatically when you fly even if you don’t touch any button. The maximum number of fruits you can splat on a place (the long ramp towards the end of the track) is 35 and that place is separated from the previous (5 fruits) and following (20 fruits) places by long jumps which means no escape from the counter resetting itself to zero.
I have even tried to use the King Pig’s auto pilot to overcome those long flights but that did not prevent the counter to reset to zero.

Does anyone have any idea springing to his mind to pass this dreadful challenge?

Hi All! I turn my previous question. We all know that for whatever sad reasons Rovio eliminated the “skip next challenge for free” lucky boxes.
Now my question is this: does any of you playing with the latest update have found a “skip next challenge for free” prize in the weekly tournament?

As of a couple of minutes ago, and in celebration of his Dachshund’s 12th birthday, the man known to many of you as Abe Goracer has officially joined the “Champions of the Galaxy” tier, not only in this thread, but, in his mind at least, throughout the actual galaxy!

With a grand total of 1,751 challenges completed, we bring this announcement to you with much more pomp and exuberance than the accomplishment deserves! PERHAPS IF WE TYPE IN ALL CAPITALS YOU WILL FORGET …that he is still far back in third place! Or maybe you won’t forget. Nevertheless, here are the numbers:

I’ve actually truly taken your advice and spent some time off from the game so I’m still sitting at 1,825. I’ve still played but spent time harvesting enough gems to get past a few of the “use all PUs – 3 races” completed.

Can you share with me the results for Sub Zero by track/challenge number?

Mine are at 310 and all stuck at the “use all PUs – 3 races”. Maybe I will invest my gems to move forward on this episode

I’m assuming you’ve moved through to your 413 by conquering these at least a couple more times to have me beat by over 100. Does the “10 challenge loop” I’ve posted about for Seedway and Rocky Road also apply to Sub Zero?

Thanks @abgofast :) And by that I mean thanks for making a pit stop of sorts. I’ve been slogging through a bunch of “Avoid 1500 obstacles” and “Closely miss 250 objects” challenges that I’d been putting off, and thought you’d be really far ahead. Although a silent @philhayler is a dangerous @philhayler :) He’s probably partying like his challenges are at 1,999!

As for my Sub Zero stats, here they are. Sub Zero is my favorite track:

Track = Race – Time Boom – Ice Splat
#1 = 59-38-42
#2 = 55-38-68
#3 = 37-56-30

I haven’t kept track on the “loops”, but so far they seem somewhat different depending on the track, 1, 2 or 3. I’ll let you know if I spot any trends.
