Over the past several days Rovio has been dropping hints of something new coming to the world of Angry Birds, but they are being pretty tight-lipped about what it might be. Well, this morning on Facebook they posted the image below with a very simple caption that reads, “Ca-caww! Something really cool is brewing for Angry Birds…”. Your guess is as good as mine as to what exactly this is going to be, but it sure resembles Tim Burton’s iconic “The Nightmare Before Christmas”. I have no idea if the similarity is just coincidence — or for that matter — if this is even a game (read: it could be a short movie or something along those lines). Now if it does turn out to be a game this could be the coolest thing since sliced bread.

I have to agree! I’ll be really excited if this is a game. I kind looks like Angry Birds Seasons taken in a darker direction. I’d play that like all day long. ;)

Like FujiToast states above, it could be a new game, but with a movie tie-in, like Rio. Given that we’re approaching the holiday season, with what Rovio has already accomplished, it sure does beg the question. I wonder if perhaps any potential confirmation of this might be had coming from the Hollywood direction?
I see bat ears, a witch’s hat, and neck bolts a la Frankenstein…perhaps more Halloween??
Huh, also if you look at the plush toy pic further down the FB page, it’s of Halloween Angry Birds – with bat ears on red, a witch’s hat on yellow, and neck bolts on bomb…

True, but the original “Angry Birds Halloween” app was released 21 Oct. 2010. They tend to release immediately before a holiday — except for countdowns.
I’ll eat my child’s halloween candy if this isn’t a bunch of new levels for Seasons Halloween.
Just a hunch, but I bet you eat some of that candy anyway! Of course, just to save him/her from the empty calories and to protect teeth from the excess sugar …… Yeah, that’s it. Just being a good, caring parent, not having a sugar craving.
I think it’s game. Mini game. Full game with many level. No update will be there.

i agree with those saying its an update to Halloween Seasons. other than the “creepy” look, there is nothing Nightmare Before Xmas about this.

There are new angry birds plush toys for halloween, and the birds in the drawing look just like them. Something haloweenish. Possibly another comic? Those plush toys didn’t make sense to me, but now they do…

Your guess is as good as ours. It sounding more and more like this may be Episode II of Trick or Treat, or something to that effect. Though I still contend that this image looks A LOT like Nightmare Before Christmas.
Yes, 100% Tim Burton in appearance to me also… which can only be a good thing! The Angry Birds could use some Angry Bat help in this one perhaps :-)

I think it might be more halloween. It shows the black bird as frankenbird, the red bird as the devil bird, and the yellow bird as the wizard. It resembles the plushies they are selling on the angry birds website.

I know everyone would love for this to be a new update for AB seasons. I really don’t think it’s a new game,maybe just a Halloween animated short of some kind. Rovio seem to be more into getting more angry birds visual (commercials,web,comic and videos) out lately. I don’t know just a thought. A new update would be 100% fine as well.

Looking very much like more Halloween episodes. Last year, “Trick or Treat” was released on 21 Oct., so perhaps this will launch the same day (1 year anniversary) but maybe not.
