Welcome to the Angry Birds Challenge! Every day there will be a new level selected for you to play (get involved and
let us know what levels you want to see as challenges here). Play for fun or use it as an excuse to improve your current score. A great goal is to try and beat the
"Average" score below. Already done that? Then pork up and try to fling your way into the
"Top 50"! Done that too?! Then take on the ultimate task and shoot for the
"Highscore"! There is also a layer of competition here, as this page
is connected to the leaderboard, so if you can improve your score you may also improve your rank. That said,
don't enter lower scores here.

Update for Angry Birds: As of 1-Apr-2023, top scores from either version of Angry Birds – Original or Rovio Classics (recently renamed to Red’s First Flight) – are eligible for an Underdog badge. Therefore, it doesn't matter which version you play, as long as it beats the Highscore posted on the Challenge page. Score proof rules apply to both versions.
Ho ho ho! A holiday badge to spread some holiday cheer. Available only during the Advent Challenge Days. To be eligible festive flingers must beat the Top Score on that day's Advent Challenge. To validate the score simply leave a screenshot from your 3-star tally page showing the score, along with a basic strategy on the walkthrough page! There will be only ONE HollyDog* awarded per player during the Advent Challenge, no matter how many times the top score is beaten (does not count towards Club Underdog).
* Note - Since many flingers already have a HollyDog badge, we are looking into changing the award system a bit. Please stay tuned, but keep on flinging!

@admins I have a question about this underdog badge or puppy thing. In addition to meet the criteria, are you supposed to apply for it or contact somebody?
The reason I ask is that in yesterday’s challenge, the Cosmic Crystals 7-29, I got the new top score, described my strategy and uploaded a screenshot, but got no badge.
I must have missed some info or misunderstood something apparently.
@gladvold You followed all the requirements just fine. I think your post was probably overlooked because you didn’t mention @Mumsie42 or post the actual link to the screenshot (hint: you can copy and paste the Direct Link or Text Link code found below the screenshot in your album to do that).
I looked into this for you, and everything’s good. Your Underdog badge will be awarded shortly. Sorry for the confusion, and Congrats!

Yes, I am sure I posted my score on the challenge page. Several times actually, as I improved. But the top score came late, I believe it was 1h 20m before end of challenge.
OK, I’ll add the link once I get to a computer. (For some reason cut and paste on my cell phone does not work here on ABN).
I’d say it’s not obvious to a newcomer that you also have to mention someone, let alone knowing who! Perhaps information should be stated somewhere.

I agree that the @mention feature isn’t obvious to newcomers. I’ve been working on an updated FAQ which explains this and many other new member questions. It should be available in the near future, along with some other resources that’ll help new users get up to speed. Thanks for your patience in this, and allow me to wish you a (belated) Welcome to the nest!

Can PC users upload scores?
@dawgbytez If the level is available on PC, yes you can. There’s not very many of us PC users, so we always welcome more scores. :)
btw, I saw you said “upload”. You can add your scores to the leaderboard, but you’ll have to enter them manually. There is currently no way to upload your scores all at once.
I mean from one level inside the game. If we can’t upload them but enter them manually then couldn’t someone just enter any score they choose?
@dawgbytez Yes, you can enter a single score from anywhere in the game. Although, if you’re going to enter one score, I recommend that you also enter at least 5 more scores from that episode. And if you’re entering any high scores, I strongly recommend you enter at least 10, or ideally, all the scores for that episode. The reason is that our leaderboards rely on the honor system, and people who enter good and bad scores are seen as more credible than someone who just enters a single random high score.
You are correct that anyone can enter whatever score they feel like (there are limits to this). But this doesn’t mean that no one notices. It’s actually quite the opposite. All our boards are closely watched by members who play on them. Whenever one spots a suspicious score without a corresponding strategy or screenshot posted in the walkthrough, they will ask the poster to confirm the entered score is correct. Usually, it’s a typo, or a score accidentally entered on the wrong level, but not always. In those cases, the member will notify an admin, who can request the member provide a screenshot, or in extreme cases, their data files as proof. If that request is ignored, that member’s scores are subject to removal.
The system works pretty well. Many of the high score owners devoted a lot of time and effort into earning their spots, so when they get an email that it’s been beaten, you can bet they’ll check it out :)
@kelani The honor system works for me! I’m a long time player but a newbie here so can you walk me through the score upload process or would a screenshot be the best way to go? Any advice is greatly appreciated. :)
@dawgbytez No problem. So we don’t fill up the board, I sent you a friends request so I can discuss it in private message. Just go to your profile, friends tab, then click Requests, and you should see it. Accept it, and i’ll send you a note. Just reply here if you get stuck on any of that. :)

About 3 weeks 4 days ago my girlfriend got the #1 score on Mooncake Festivalnlevel 1-7 during the challenge. It was her second underdog , but she hasn’t got it yet. Maybe you hand out the badges every month and so I apologize if I’m being impatient (for her, lol).
Anyhow, I think we fulfilled all the requirements and so if someone could look into that please, she’d be very happy. I have zero underdogs and so this will really let her brag to me when I start implying that I am better then her.

Also, just a tip for the future: It’s probably a good idea to post things like this in B&R, or if posted here, at least mention @ admins so someone will know. I just happened to notice this post. If I hadn’t, it may not have been seen by anyone.
@tmax @burn @Mumsie42 Just looked into this. I see the 2nd underdog listed for Angry Angel in the Club Underdog spreadsheet, so this wasn’t overlooked. The only thing I couldn’t find was a congrats mention in B&R. So, she was credited with the puppy, but it looks like we forgot to congratulate her for it. I’ll add a congrats mention right now. Sorry about that, and thanks for letting us know!
nice spreadsheet !!….that is great…. will it look like two puppies on her badges section?…. or will it just look like one puppy ? Thats why I thought she hadn’t got it….. thanks so much for looking into it. We notice you all the time now on the challenges…. it’s fun.
@burn Yeah, the maintainers of that spreadsheet do a great job. It shows exactly how many underdogs you’ve actually earned, but you’ll just see the one badge on your profile. Some people have SO many puppies, adding 25+ more badges would look awful, like a big dog pound. :) It’s been suggested that the Underdog badge change depending on the # of puppies earned, (i.e. silver, gold, platinum), so that may happen at some point in the future.
Anyway, glad to help. I’ve played almost every challenge since I started doing them back in March, but didn’t post much. Now that I’ve joined Team ABN, you’ll probably see me around a lot more. :)
cool. Another way to represent multiple puppies could be like they do for notifications on phones and such with a little red circle and then the number of puppies inside of it and attach that to the puppy badge somehow….. just a thought

@admins Have any of you or anyone else ever had this happen? I launch the yellow bird then click to fire the laser into the first section and the screen goes black. I exit the level and go back in, try the same move and then the laser won’t fire at all as seen in the pic. I’ve tried restarting and reinstalling and the same thing happens. It’s the same on every Star Wars level with this bird. All my other games work fine. Video drivers are up to date, direct x is up to date. Any info at all on how to fix this? I don’t want to do a fresh install because I have completed everything with 3 stars.

@dawgbytez Hmm. That is a new one. I’m also on PC, so I tried to replicate this for about 20 min. with no success. What part of the screen is going black, and does it recover at some point? Just wondering because you said you could exit the level. I don’t think a fresh install would help much. If it was me, I’d go unset the Read Only flag on all the Star Wars folders, then try the regular reinstall (sometimes, updates set certain AB files to read only). If that didn’t help, I’d definitely send a support request to Rovio about this, make sure to include the info you posted here. You can do that here: http://www.rovio.com/en/about-us/contact
@kelani the whole screen goes black and you can barely see the reset button in the upper left so I’m able to reset it. I’m going to try your suggestion, if that doesn’t work I’ll download the newest version and try that.
@kelani The problem was fixed by updating OpenGL and my video driver.

Is there a way to view the results from yesterday’s challenge? Or other prior challenges?
@fnurt Unfortunately, no. You just have to catch it before the new challenge starts.
@kelani and @fnurt actually there is a list of each daily challenge but it not maintained by ABN officially and is used only for underdog tracking. I am not sure who is doing it but @e-star used to.
@Swelld My duties have never been in the challenge here at the nest, maybe you are referring to @rdnzlrips82 who invented the Challenge in the Bloated Pig and maintained a list of the challenges, but that was a long time ago. Not sure if there is a list of all the challenges of the past and their result, but if there is, they would not be accessible without the right permissions.
@swelld afaik, you can see the previous challenge level on birdleader’s activity, but not results. Whatever list was used for underdog tracking before, I don’t think exists anymore. However, underdogs are currently tracked via the club underdog spreadsheet found at the bottom of the top pos tin badges & ranking group.
@admins – Are we having a December Daily Update Seasons Challenge Series like last year with Arctic Eggspedition? If so, see you in challenges on 1 Jan again, because there is no way that WP will be included (Stella 3 months later nothing yet and Seasons Slam Dunk not released indicates that).
@jaydee You know we have no control over release/update dates. But to answer your question, yes, we will be hosting the “December Seasons Challenge” series (I like that name) cc: @Admins

Yeah, you are right. I am quite aware that update/release dates are not within ABN’s control(or within its knowledge even, many times). Even Rovio’s own staff can’t give that kind of information. Accordingly I will never ask ABN for that kind of information, to be honest.
I read somewhere that the new update will feature a blue Terence with new powers. Something to look forward to – well, when it hits Windows Phone anyway. ;)

@kelani With Rovio’s recent abandonment of pc users, will there be any more daily tournaments we can compete in?
I’ve been missing the Daily Challenge too. Tried to use Genymotion so I could play but had some issues that I couldn’t figure out so waiting to see if using a droid emulator tutorial will be posted. In any event, after this Christmas Challenge series ends I’m sure we’ll be back to PC accessible Daily Challenges.

@uncle-b It’s time….. you need to go to Wal-mart or Newegg or Tiger direct or ebay and get an android tablet. Less than $100 You can’t put it off any longer. It is inevitable. I have retired my @wilee-bird alter ego persona and mangaged to play the “On Finn Ice” episode rather successfully on my android tablet, even though I would have certainly rather played it on PC.
@uncle-b I even have a Top Score on level 1-13 of On Finn Ice.
@dawgbytez These On Finn Ice challenges are a special event. After they’re finished (About 18 days), the normal Daily Challenge rotation should resume. PC players can continue playing any challenges for which we have levels.

@admins why does the high score above for today’s challenge say 147k as far as my leadrboard says its 143k ? Just wondering if I’m missing something somewhere?
@kathy when the challenge started the high score was 147k but it’s been removed. That “high score” number doesn’t change even if they remove the score.

I really liked it when we could see the top 50 on this page for daily challenge as opposed to only the top 10. A little selfish because I have a better chance of cracking top 50? Yep. Lol. Like today at 19. Just offering my opinion in the event it’s a majority rules kind of thing. Happy New Year!
@Maiasatara The top 50 still shows if you switch to Desktop view. We reduced the mobile view to 10 to save space.

I know I was the score breaker, but at the time I didn’t know that it was against the rules to use power-ups.
P.S. Does the Red’s Mighty Feathers Power-Up count? The rules don’t seem to say anything about it.
@mockingbirdinc In the Red’s Mighty Feathers episode, red’s powers are part of the game and you don’t need to go to the powerup screen to use them, so that is fine to use. As a general rule, anything you have to buy or is given to you as a “gift” and would have to be purchased to use after they are gone can’t be used.
I was wondering if anything has changed with the timing of the daily challenge. I play in the Philippines, and until 3 days ago it switched to the new challenge every day at 1100hrs local time. Now it changes at 1000hrs, and I’ve noticed that, just before then, the countdown clock still says for example “1h 5m” remaining. Then 5 minutes later it says “1d 0h 59m”, as if it was going to run for 25 hours. Caught me out the first time as I thought I still had an hour to enter scores! Not a big deal, just curious.
The United States switched over to Daylight Saving Time this past Sunday morning.

I remember well how hard was get the 58,860K score on ABSW Tatooine 1-12, today’s Challenge,and against my own expectations I’ve tied my previous score after some attempts… (that actually is no easy feat) and considering the odds against to better that, I’m dropping for further attempts to improve current top-score today.
Hope you get better results. Sadly, there is no Underdoggies for tie your actual score… nor chance to re-enter the same score to “update” it. Same as not playing at all. “Birds happens” lol

Why so many challenges lately that have previously been the Daily Challenge?

@sal9, yeah I can see the top banner I guess. I was just wondering why in about the past 7 days, we have had at least three Daily Challenges that have been Daily Challenges in the past. Granted it was long time ago in the past but if nothing has changed in the level it seems rather pointless. Just my opinion.
I see where you’re coming from, but these challenges were chosen by the group because they’re fun, challenging, etc. IMO, it’s all good to come back to a level from time to time.

I had to uninstall my angry bird challenge to temporarily open up some space. When I went to reinstall the game its no where to be found please tell me what’s up?

I have a question: To get the underdog bagde you need to be the top 1 in the daily challenge or you just need to be in top 50?
All you need to do is beat the previous high score (before the day of the challenge) in this case anything over 91,200 is qualified for the badge.
