I love waking up in the morning to see the community abuzz with news of a brand new release. Today is one of those days, as the Angry Birds Space Fry Me to the Moon (v1.1.0) update has landed on iOS and Android via Google Play and Amazon AppStore, with other platforms coming soon.
Update for PC: “Fry Me to the Moon” is now available in the Angry Birds Shop! If you are having difficulties with the in-app updater, you can manually update your app by going to download.angrybirds.com and clicking “Download Free Demo”.
Warning for Mac: Now available in the Mac App Store, but do not update!!! According to @sal9, the update both erased his previous progress AND won’t save new progress! Rovio was made aware of this issue, and encourage you to backup your progress and do not update until Rovio releases a further update. Update v1.1.1 is now available and all appears to be well again.
Update for Playbook: Now available in the App World.
This update includes new levels and a bunch of bug fixes, which we’ll delve into below:
- Fry Me to the Moon includes 10 new levels in episode 3 that have the pigs orbiting around planets!
- Looks like there is one new Eggsteroid to be found
- No sign of additional Fry Me to the Moon levels down the road, but you never know.
- 20 Free Space Eagles includes in this update
- Receive one free Space Eagle for playing each day
- When you activate the Space Eagle the “Feather Meter” now shows up in the top right hand corner of the level while playing. This means you can see you destruction progress while you play!
- Centripetal Force achievement fixed (I got it on my first show in level 3-1)
- Bug fixes, with the major ones address crashes on older devices (we will try to verify what all has been fixed)
- “Coming Soon” planet updated to show a pig eating a donut, though not sure what to make of this yet. Also includes the word, “Free”.
- No new achievements in Game Center.
- In level 3-10 you get to destroy the Space Needle!
Massive List of Bug Fixes:
- 4th-gen. Crashing Fixed: Most likely the biggest issue, 4th-gen. iPod Touch users should be in the clear now!
- Bug 38 Fixed: It correctly takes around 100 birds flung out of gravitational fields to earn the “Gravitational Escape” achievement.
- Bug 39 Fixed: Users should get credit for “Where No Birds Have Gone Before” after purchasing Danger Zone.
- Bug 40 Fixed: Achievements earned offline now register correctly upon reconnect.
- Bug 41 Fixed: This has been fixed two-fold. Foremost, the score that tallies when setting a new highscore stays your highscore. Also, all scores are multiples of 10, as they should have always been. Woot!
- Bug 42 Fixed: “Feather Picker” now registers correctly upon earning 50 feathers.
- “Centripetal Force” Fixed: While it was not added to the bug list originally, it is now pretty easy to earn this achievement.
Active Bugs:
- Bug 37 Partially Fixed: “Pig Bang Score Addict” correctly registers when surpassing 1.9M points in Pig Bang. However, there are still reports that it can register if the user surpassed 1.9M in another episode.
- Bug 43 Still Active: “Menu Popper” still does not appear to work.

@angryboy Angry Birds Space is so popular right now, they find it unnecessary for a free version while it’s still hot. In the future, though, there may be a free one!
Can we change this to “they MAY find it unnecessary”? Rovio hasn’t said this, so I don’t want to give the impression that this is their official statement.

Anyone else who can’t get it to install on a Sensation 4G from the Amazon store? I updated four times, but it keeps saying install failed. I deleted about 20 MB of stuff from my SD card, and hadn’t been getting no more room warnings, so I don’t think I’m out of room. When I launch ABS it still is the older version.
Try restarting your device, but I’m not sure.
Thanks Slim, I did try that, right now I’m trying to download the free version from Google Play to see what happens. If I end up with only the free version, I’ll uninstall and reinstall from Amazon.
I mostly played on my PC because it’s easier to see, so I don’t mind losing what I already had for scores. They weren’t worth backing up. :-)
Installed the free version, but I ended up with two versions, so uninstalled free, restarted my phone, and downloaded the update again, and this time it installed. No idea what was wrong.
Geez, I should have played more on my phone though, I didn’t realize that I still haven’t finished Cold Cuts on it!

Hey slim, I think there’s one more part of the update for it too. We are now able to shut off the advertisements now. I don’t believe it was available before, but I may be wrong!! Hope this is helpful!!

To AngryDRUMMER: The update for Android users of the free version actually adds a button that reads “Buy the ad-free version” to the main menu which takes you to the Google Play listing for this version. Two caveats: If you have not paid for an app from Google Play before, you will need to sign up for the Google Wallet service to buy this app, and if you upgrade from the free version to this “premium” version, your progress will not be transferred.

Go check that page again. I made it more accurate. But it just goes to show that you can’t trust information on that Wiki. If Rovio announces anything, ABN will likely be among the first to know.

i found out if you set your clock forward a day and go to absp you get a eagle. you can not get it on that date twice.

Danger Zone is available for Android’s Samsung Galaxy “free for 3 months” according to an old post. As for other Android devices, we don’t know.

Level ten did not feel like an episode ending level for me. It was actually easier than many of the earlier levels. I wonder if there are going to be additional pages of FTM levels released up to the 30 each that there have been for other Space episodes? Not complaining at all, moving pigs add a timing issue on top of the aiming one that has existed in AB all along.
I don’t think they will add new levels to existing planets. I rather think the new updates will always be new planets.
(But I’m not sure about Danger Zone. If ever there will be a Danger Zone 2, maybe there won’t be a new planet but some new levels?)
I can confirm that the most of the mentioned achievment bugs have been fixed. However, the Pig Bang Schore Addict achievement has a new bug: I obtained the achievment with about 1,700,000 points.
Well, Pig Bang’s Score Addict was bugged in a very very strange way. Some users earned the achievement when Danger Zone or Cold Cuts surpassed 1,900,000 points. Others never received it.
What’s your current score in Cold Cuts and Danger Zone?
What could the donut planet with the ‘free’ sign could be…what do you think the levels and the gravity would be like???

There is a lot of speculation that there will be a tie in between Simpsons and AB. I don’t watch Simpsons but I hear pink frosted donuts figure prominently in it.

Dead birds are not affected by gravity as much as they are before they hit something. Wonder why?

2nd-gen iOS devices do not have nearly enough power to run the app.
The reason there is only 10 levels and no boss is because this is the MOON of cold cuts

On the PC version, normally when you launch the game it will check for updates and ask if you want to download the update.
Good for you, in my PC it does not check for updates so I keep waiting for a long time, so I just sticked to the manual installation
Open the installation directory of Angry Birds Space, and open the file “updater.ini”. Find the line that says “URL”. Copy the URL and paste it in your browser to see if there is an update
Or you can search “Run” and then enter %appdata% and then find Rovio.
Look for Angry Birds Space and open the folder updates.
It will contain the same as written in the URL.
