Angry Birds Space Cosmic Crystals Level 7-9 Walkthrough

Our strategy for Angry Birds Space Cosmic Crystals level 7-9 is to aim the Orange bird between the trio of asteroids near the slingshot. Expand when it reaches the middle, hopefully clearing out the left half. The mass of debris can make its way into the gravitational field of the eastern planet, popping both nearby pigs upon implosion. The score in the video below is 76,390.

The video is the High score. Had the same thing happen in the video , but that big rock at the end landed in a soft spot.

thx, I really like this chapter because it has no self-destruct and no shoot-and-wait-half-an-hour-levels.
My solution to this level was a single-birder. I shot orangebird over the little planet with reduced speed right into the eye of helmie pig. Inflated manually on impact with the bubble. Had some luck with the flying debris to kill all pigs and bust all planets.

I flubbed the shot, missed the bubble and instead landed with a soggy splat on the contraption itself. Debris drifted to the right and took out the two planets there, and the implosion kicked a splinter of wood into the large boulder hoovering next to the planet on the left. New highscore.

Tried this again for todays challenge. Used a method similar to @happyshake at reduced speed. I don’t remember exactly where I hit but I think it was near the left pincher arm. Things went flying everywhere.

Not a new strategy but a refinement for the daily challenge… I got some more shots in and picked up 600 points on the way to the office.

Shoot with reduced speed just over the head of the pig on the first planet. The speed should be such that OB taps the small boulder down and continues on to contact the elbow of the helmet pig contraption. Inflate a split second after OB bumps into the contraption. This will regularly (70% of the time?) send enough debris to the right to blow up those two planets and once in a while (5% of the time?) a shard of crystal will travel left to get the third planet.

@burpie‘s shot is the way to go, however one tiny tweak can give more repeatable 80-85+k 1-birders. Here’s 2 ways to go about it, or skip my novel and check out the screenshot:

1. Find the strongest reduced-power shot that still bounces off the tiny stone at 3:00 from the leftmost planet, then aim 1-2 pixels higher and leftward (move finger down and to the right 1-2 pixels). Zooming in helps lots. Zoomed out, it’s darn near impossible.

2. Aim so OB flies over the 3:00 tiny stone and hits the crab’s stone “elbow” at 9:00-11:00. Inflate when you hear OB’s impact. This blasts the crab’s forearm into the large boulder at the left planet’s 4:00. It catches the grav field and blasts the planet. Meanwhile, the other debris takes out both planets with ~80% success. Occasionally, the largest planet survives.

I was about to write an almost identical post. The only issue with this improvement is that I have not yet found a way to use the crab debris to push afterward the lower right big boulder into the lower right planet. Should this happen, then it could beat the highscore. It is really a pity because when you barely, barely fail to push the upper boulder into the upper left planet, then the crab debris do the job with this lower right boulder.

By Sglouk (@sglouk)Score: 89,230

I may add that wrt @burpie strat, OB passes a little bit further from the planet upper left, and slightly faster. The reason why the largest planet occasionally survives comes (I think) from the fact that the amputated crab is no longer enough to destroy it, so that the outcome depends on how many more debris hit the planet.

@sglouk I agree, and have the same issue. Sometimes a small stone will bump the big boulder toward the lower planet, but it just doesn’t have enough speed. There’s so much unused stuff floating around, I’m positive a better strategy, or even a better variant of this one exists. No idea what that is. :)

There is one, actually, but it is highly random: miss your first shot in the sense that the upper left boulder does not move, then hope that large lower right boulder hits the planet (fairly easy in this case), then pray that some debris of the upper right planet hit straight the upper left boulder. I got this last event to happen twice, but never when the large lower right boulder had done the job.

Has anyone else had the crab’s floating right section violently break apart and fling sections of itself away? I started getting it after one end catches the upper right planet’s gravity field, which whips it around and folds it backwards, like a spring. It’s not controllable, but it causes some amazing damage to stuff.

This level deserved more attention than it did…

I beat top @happyshake‘s top score many times till I could reach 89k. My strat is better explained in the following vid:

https://youtu.be/Bz9aN2j_jEk

It is the small pebble immediately at the right of left planet that does (most of) the job: it must be pushed by OB prior it inflates. It must be pushed again by OB after it inflated. Then it must bounce of nearby big rock, pushing it toward leftmost crystal planet (which will be subsequently destroyed, together with boulder), and bounce toward south east. When done correctly, it hits straight on second big boulder, pushing it toward bottom crystal planet. In order things to proceed well at that stage, the big shard close to the second big boulder MUST be destroyed by drifting contraption (otherise it will fall on bottom planet prior to big boulder, destroying it without boulder being destroyed -> 2k less if this happens). After this, remaining contraption is expected to fall on last planet, destroying it as well. A 85k score is guaranteed there, and getting more necessitates that stars align correctly so as to get good debris destruction.
