Our strategy for Angry Birds Seasons Haunted Hogs level 2-8 is to loft a Yellow bird into the TNT centered in the level. This will clear the right half of the level. Fire the Pink bird into the ghost blocks on the left side, toppling the stone blocks onto rubble. Finish with an Orange bird. The score in the video is 147,280.

New Event: Menasor – Repairs Complete! Roll Out!
OK, so it’s pretty difficult to top the simplicity and effectiveness of the strategy shown in the video. So if playing this level has all but caused you to lapse into a narcoleptic coma, it’s time for Senor Surfcow’s Seriously Stimulating Strategery…. Please hold your applause until the end. Thank you. First, four observations. Kinda like the Four Commandments. Why just four, you ask? Why not?
1. Ignore the TNT. It’s there to tempt you into a boring, Lactose-intolerant kind of approach. Don’t press the shiny red button.
2. Attack this top-heavy, mostly ghost-brick-free structure by striking at the knees. Or knee caps. Whichever you prefer.
3. The best offense is to use your opponent’s defense.
4. You will always score better if you can avoid what I refer to as Premature Calculation. Now, Now. Before you start calling for me to be barred and unfeathered… I’m sure we’ve all experienced that not-so-fresh feel… Oops, wrong joke. Simply, “PC” is that dreaded moment when the bricks are bouncing, wood is getting pounded, plump pumpkins are… What?!? The level just abruptly cuts to the Total Score screen before you get your just rewards for taking care of those little oinkers so quickly.
First shot: yellow bird, flat trajectory, slice through lowest ghost block, hollow wood block and at least one of the vertical wood beams supporting the middle structure. Ideally, the wall’s cement blocks fall to the right and cripple the beast by pushing and smashing its legs. (See # 1,2 & 3 above)
Second shot: depending on what’s left, get creative with Buffy the Bubble Blowing Vampig Killer (Pink Bird) and choose a target that has cement blocks above wood. If the middle TNT is exposed, try lifting it up without making it explode. Then watch it fall from the sky and go boom. Its more fun than watching Dracula in a hot sauce factory. Whatever you do, don’t waste this shot by picking up those sneaky ghost blocks. Just because she is the only bird able to snatch them up doesn’t mean it will help here. I suggest going long with a Hail Mary shot to the far TNT-infested structure. (See #1)
Clean-up shot: as you know, Orange Bird does best when surrounded. If first shot didn’t do much to the beast in the middle, sending Pinky long for second shot now makes sense. Aim for a tight spot with lots of wood. Important: to score big and avoid Premature Calculation, have OB ready to go if Pink pops ’em all and there’s any juicy targets left. (See #4) Aloha.
Thx, great strat…
Putting the first shot through the bottom of the two hollow blocks on the right side of left tower (just above the @surfcow kneecap) causes the cement blocks to fall right and take out the middle structure (and usually the first TNT). Bubble bird to right TNT, then orange to clean out debris. Consistent scores 155K+.
I used a variation of this for 155160(after maybe 15 attempts). All it took was the Y/B and then pinky as near the first TNT as I could get her using a high arching shot. I can’t repeat the 155K, but I’ll take the score for now.
Great strat!
@surfcow Your strat is even better than your excellent description! Gave me 156K. Always appreciate it when I can use someone’s strat to beat them. Thanks again.
Thanks @surfcow – I put on 6K using your strat – now my pants don’t fit so well…
Glad to hear it worked for you @playdbird — but it sounds like you pigged out on this level. But that’s OK cuz pants are overrated. My solution? Those nifty new sweat pants that look like blue jeans. They’ve even come up with a word for when those get too tight: jeggings. When those get snug I think they call it camel… Oops. Almost did a Bozo No-No. Gotta keep it clean at the Nest, so I suggest jogging to avoid jeggings and try not to pig out too often on these tempting TNT-filled levels. Just Say No to the Toe. Aloha.
@surfcow – while LOL is overused on the ‘net you really did make me laugh out loud with that comment. Knuckle down, friend…watch out for the Moose.
Wow, you are so welcome @mvnla2 – and thank you for reminding me to come back to this level. I was kinda surprised that one of my strategies actually worked. Not only did it help you and a few others beat the Walkthrough score, it also helped me top my previous score by 10,000. In case anyone’s interested, I used three birds: first took out most of “the beast”; second picked up small cement squares at far right and blasted the right TNT; and Orange Bird got tossed just past the remaining TNT so when detonated the blast cleaned up what was left of the beast, leaving just a few sticks and small blocks. Seems like ~168,000 would be possible with three birds, not sure if two could beat that. Aloha.
@surfcow says to avoid TNT. But it’s so tempting. So reachable. So … explosive! Sigh. Señor Surf is right. Thanks for sharing with those of us who were trapped by the obvious shot .
@surfcow your a genius – I was stuck on this level like…….. forever, took an Our Father shot with the OB just to avoid Premature Calculation and finally 3*’s. Thankyou so much.
@dg123 – I resemble that comment. Seriously, though, thanks for sharing. Even tough you were at it for a long time, it sounds like you got a happy ending. Remember kids, premature calculation is no laughing matter. Aloha.
@surfcow thank you Professor Senor Surfcow for a wonderful strategy that is as fun to read as this level is to play. I was never able to clear this with 2 birds but you can get a decent 3-bird score. I ended up using the pink bird (Buffy the Vampig Killer – love the name) to clear more out of the pile of wood left from the collapse of the first structure, then aimed the orange bird at the first TNT & inflated manually as soon as she got there, which obliterated everything. This worked for me a few times for scores over 155k.
Of course, now I won’t be able to look at my daughter with a straight face whenever she wears her jeggings..
I did the same as you Karen68. After the first bird there was an opening in the wood debris that was perfect for the pink bird to pickup the wood and take out the two pigs. Launched orange bird to take out the tnt box and fell short but it worked for the best because tnt blew debris to the right and orange bird blew debris to the left.
Wow, @surfcow so nicely done! Got lucky with your shot #2 sending Bubbles to the large pile of stone blocks which took down the structure underneath the pile, setting off the TNT. Additional debris flew right, cutting down the remaining structure and setting of the right TNT. This blew more debris left for additional carnage. Two bird solution. Will post pic with score shortly.
I’m sure this score won’t last too long…

@surfcow – 170510 w/2.. Many thanks for the “knee cap shot” and the few giggles that you always share with your fellow crazies here at ABN.. thx
Congrats to @marc987 and @pourpete for deciphering my “strategery” and posting some excellent scores. I like to think that the idea of “nobody wins unless everyone wins” applies to ABN. Personally, it’s no fun coming up with strategies and keeping them all to myself just to claim a temporary Top Score. IMHO, the alternate approach isn’t really a success until someone uses some or all of it to beat their previous top score and/or to come up with a better approach. Aloha.
@marc987 hey, nice shooting. Was yours a 2 or a massive 3 birder?
@foley200 – SeasonsHH – 170510 w/2.. A very lucky 2 bird score thanks to @surfcow and the now world famous “knee cap shot”, very lethal and very original.. BTW, you’ve set a very high level to aim for as usual in HH, nice shooting!.. thx
Thanks @marc987 give me a shout if your stuck on any, I might be able to help!
Love the comical narrative @surfcow! It totally worked for me, and now I can give my cramped fingers a much-needed rest. Mahalo nui loa, ka’u makamaka!
161930 wiht your srat after maybe ten/fifteen tries. Thanks surfcow.
Gotta say I love going through these old episodes just to read your commentary! I know you still lurk, so mahalo @surfcow 8*)
Aloha
@knichy great score!! I can’t get near my previous 164k and no memory of how the heck i got it
Wwwwhhhiiinnneee..?
152970 using surfcow strategy. But only 2 birds necessary. Great idea after 100 tries for good score with TNT.
Got 162,900 with two birds, although haven’t been able to duplicate it yet…
Thanks @Surfcow, couldn’t figure out where those scores came from, so I cam checking the walkthrough. And there you where with you usual great story with somewhere in there a superb strat! Always a pleasure to read you comments and amazing strats! I got 168530 this way and to go along with you strat I have a video :)
Here is my video.
Used the surfcow’s strat to kneecap the first structure. Sent Pinkie after some suspended stone blocks but mis-fired low. I was about to hit re-set, but saw her heading straight for the now exposed middle TNT. I waited around to see what would happen…ka-BLAM!!! Wood splinters everywhere and a pretty decent score!
Tried to follow @surfcow‘s strat and then @E-Star‘s – not sure what I did right cos was distracted by TV! But 3rd place on most improved! Thanks guy!
I used same 3 birds.
2 birds finish very difficult for me!
But I am happy! Got my high score! Thanks!
