Our strategy for Angry Birds Seasons Back to School level 1-5 is to send the first pink bird straight ahead into the left hand tower, tapping just as you reach it. This should cause the tower to collapse and for the pink bird’s bubbles to capture quite a few blocks. Ideally you won’t pop all pigs here, as you can get a higher score by launching a second pink bird at the right side tower. The score in the video is 57,720.
Debut: This level is the debut of the Pink Bird, whose real name is “Stella”. When activated manually or after a short delay once it has hit something, she places all nearby objects into bubbles in a small radius. Bubbles then float if not held down and pop a short while later, causing contents to fall back to the surface. You can read more about her here.
I loved this level!!! I had so much fun figuring out how to use the pink birdie. I love her ;-) I couldn’t wait to come post my strat but see it’s EXACTLY like the video..I mean my score is 57710 and the walkthrough’s is 57720, lol…
Here’s some tips that may help…Be sure to send the first bird right at the horizontal wooden plank closest to the bottom and tap her just before she makes contact because if you send her too low…it doesn’t work right and too high…then she doesn’t take enough debris with her. Also I have gotten a one birdie this way several times but the scores were always lower so you want to use the second bird to get the extra points…just like the walkthrough ;-)
I love this one too! Ms Pinky is a thrill! It was such surprise how she works too. I’m having fun just flinging Ms Pinky in different ways and watch how the bubbles (and piggies) tumble. I’ll post score(s) soon.
Fun, fun! Just like you described @AngryAdvisor 1st bird into wooden plank killing first two pigs, 2 shot low into right tower.
Nice job Rovio on a great new bird!
I’m having a blast with her … love to hear her “talk”!
@lesleyg @GypsyBird @Pourpete. You guys are crazy..or too forgiving ..I don’t like her..she’s cute for sure..but I cant pick up anythin..I think I’m doing it all wrong I followed.instructions. all she does it bang into stuff and bubble away…:(/
@kathy, she is somewhat ‘touchy’. I have trouble getting her to pick up/move some things and have to repeat it. For this level just fling her over to the lower middle of the left structure and tap again. She might need to be touching a bit of wood and brick at the same time, but she will grab and lift eventually. Sometimes she just blows bubbles all over the structure and nothing happens except for the bubbles popping. Then I just reset and fling again. You will get it and then it will be high flying bubbles from there.
Thanks for the valuable tip.My score was 55540 previously your tip helped me to gain valuable 5000 points more.
Essayez une stratégie Française !
visez la première petite pomme rouge. Avec le ricochet, et si vous êtes chanceux, toutes les cochons sont détruits. Pour améliorer le score, lancez sans attendre un second oiseau sur le mur restant.
Sorry by the way, french user i try to translate for you (without using tthe google translate, cos, still sucking, I find)
Try the douzbb style (with a french touch !)
aim at the first little red apple. If you’re lucky, by ricochet, you can destroy all the pigs with one bird. For a higher score, send quickly a second bird on the last wall. My score with this strat.
Bien vue @douzbb, belle strategie ;)
Pour une fois que je trouve quelque chose, je partage !
I did the reverse. I sent the first bird just over thebigday tower, activate the bird right when it hits the small tower. This will possibly kill one or two pigs. Then I bounced the second bird on the platform with the apple and activate it as it hit the tall tower. Have 61040
did the same strat, worked great
Jolie stratégie ;) Nice job !
Nice strat @douzbb, I improved my score a little to 58280 so far but the bounce off the apple allows the pink bird to land in the perfect spot on first tower, thanks ;-)
@Lesleyg uhmmm you understand French? I tried to translate @douzbb strat but couldn’t do it?
Lol @Kathy ;-) No, I definitely don’t speak French! However, I was able to make some sense of it based off the second paragraph of his strat, tee hee! I am here now and will give it a few flings and find you some bread crumbs!!!
Thanks @Lesleyg you and @Karen68 are the bestest!!
Both answering my birdie call for help ??
I surely appreciate it ?
You’re welcome @Kathy although, I’m not gonna be much help…I can’t seem to find any added breadcrumbs…The first strat at the top, I originally posted still works well…and moonsabre with Birdjo’s added tips also works well…the “French” apple bounce really only gains about 500 points and ends up being the same aiming points ;( most I’ve gotten tonight was like 60K…Obviously I’m not liking this level so much as I did before, haha
Thanks @Lesleyg i appreciate your trying, with which strat tonight did you get the 60k, I’ve been all over the place , trying them all,, i just can’t get Stella to float any debris from the second tower to the left, it all goes right, most I’ve managed tonight is about 56k ?, moving along i guess
I’m gonna move onto to Piggywood Studios part two as I never finished it! I got Top Score in level 2-30 so I need to go post a strat and some screenies if you feel like working on that Episode ;D
Used the same strategy. Thanks for posting @douzbb. I figured that red apple was put there for a reason. Activate the pink bird just before it touches the wood of the left stack. The far right pig is the challenge to get. Did the same with the second pink bird by activating it prior to hitting the structure. Fun level to play.
Got current top score with very similar strategy using 2 bird.
1) Try to hit the 2nd from the bottom stone block on first tower and activate your bird at the same time he contacts the wall. This will cause almost the entire wall to be knocked over.
2) With 2nd bird, try and hit near the bottom of the remaining tower and activate on impact. This will cause the entire wall to fall and kill any remaining pigs.
Takes a lot of luck to get a very high score.
63620 using this strategy in reverse. First bird low arc just clearing the first tower, activating on impact at the bottom of right side tower. 2nd bird straight ahead to bottom of left tower for the clear. Alternate first shot is a high arc coming down in the same spot at the base of the tower. I found the lower arc first shot to be easier and more repeatable.
Ty @cbird and @optic this strat worked great..first try 59590 I still have some practicing but you got me above average ;)
Just a general tip, not a strategy… I find I get more bubbles to attach to blocks and higher lifts when I manually tap the pink bird a millisecond before it impacts the wall, not after.
Thanks for the tip @sasquatch519.
Order of the shots doesn’t seem to matter, it’s more of your preference.
B1) Hit the square at the top of the front tower, have it drop down to drag the bottom most block along with the rest.
B2) to the back mid
This was the nice result with the shots reversed:
Nice flinging, @moonsabre. I’ve been trying those shots for hours and only managed to get around 1k to add to my previous best at 60k+ before checking in at the nest. Were they supposed to be “pixel-perfect”? Bouncing on the nearest platform with an apple on top (thanks to @douzbb & @pointdexter5) did give +500 but doesn’t seemed to have significant impact on total. It also lack the angle to reach the top stone of the first tower (the one you mentioned above). Second tower is way easier to manipulate. Still stuck in this level so 1-6 to 1-20 should wait a little longer. Enlighten me, oh King of the Seasons… ;)
Ummm, this is awkward and misplaced but was it just me or did Stella (aka. our latest “star” pink bird) sounded like a female Japanese ninja? Curse me… :(
Forgetting about bouncing off the nearest platform. I’m now focusing on doing more consistent shots with your strat. Managed to scrap out another 2k+ and at 63k+ now. Here comes the details :
1. Aim the first straight and slightly upward so there is an ever so small (and i mean a hair-thick) gap between the two sling ropes. You should hit the top little stone at the first tower. The bird HAS TO FALL right to the left of the wall, NOT BOUNCE AWAY (restart when happen) from it. Manually trigger the blow when the lowest stone (large horizontal one) is within the bubbles’ range. This should lift most of the first tower and killing at least two left-most pigs in the process. This is also an alternate, fairly repeatable solution for one-birder (but with less score).
2. Aim the second just a bit higher so the start of the previous tracking dots slightly appeared above the second bird’s aiming position. This will launch the bird to approximately lower to middle portion of the second tower. Trigger before or upon impact as you wish to lift as many pieces as possible to kill the last pig with helmet.
55k-62k happens quite often with this strat. Thanks to fully-imaginative @moonsabre… :D
Important note : As the first shot might happen to be a one-birder, you must be prepared for a scrambled second shot in order to scrap more points from the second tower. I would suggest you’re ready for launch as soon as you feel that your first shot was a “successful” one. This “one-birder, scrambled second shot” scenario tends to yield more points for me.
Thanks to @moonsabre and @birdjo.
I almost missed the comment by moonsabre below. The ever so slight bounce of the second bird as described below by moonsabre made a significant difference.
I only have one thing to add: For first bird, getting just the right amount of sling tension is key. Too hard, the bird bounce away, too soft not quite enough damage to the middle, in particular the right side pig. I would say about 80% of a full pull. For too long I thought a softer pull would do the trick, but couldn’t get past 62k. A firmer pull, and the slight bounce of the second bird finally got me to 65k. GL :)
@bonneypattycat, I know there’s only a few hours to go & you may not see this, but as you’re the Challenge Leader, it’s worth asking … After the 1st shot, approx what was your score? I’ve managed 38k or 39k with 1st shot & some 14k & a 15k to far right, unfortunately, never at the same time. I’m just wondering what to aim for as far as points after the 1st shot.
@justpast40, As all pigs were killed with the first bird, I was pretty busy getting the second bird out of the sling so didn’t notice the first bird score, but I am certain it was at least 40k. A good second bird usually yields at least another 20k when the debris falls to the right, but if you can get it to go left with the bounce, you can squeeze out quite a few more points.
Thanks for the quick reply @bonneypattycat. With that 2nd shot score & my 1st shot score which also took out all piggies & don’t touch the right side, there’s potential for a new TopScore : -).
@justpast40, there is at least 68k points possible with two birds, but that will take some doing!
@bonneypattycat, that’s exactly what I meant, over 68k was possible if I was getting 37-38k with 1st bird while leaving right side untouched & you are saying 20k with 2nd shot from debris only since piggies were destroyed on 1st shot. I couldn’t get anything close to that 20k with just the debris; my best was 15 something, never broke 16k with 2nd shot.
Correction to my post above. I’m embarrassed as I’m not illiterate. The “don’t” after ampersand & before touch should have read “didn’t.” It should have read “….. all piggies & didn’t touch ….”
many thx to @moonsabre for pictures
here my video with 62k:
Glad you were successful @birdjo! Just as a quick note too on the second shot, a slight bounce may help as it not only lifts the pieces but drags them to the left (hitting additional debris).
Again, a small detail that makes HUGE difference, @moonsabre. Finally i’ve reached my personal goal at 65k+ with a couple of “a slight bounce” second shots… ;) Guess now i’d have to say goodbye to this one & hello to level 1-6 LOL… :D
Well done @birdjo! I guess it’s all in the small details when learning about a new bird. The pink bird is a fun one as it’s at least mostly consistent.
Definately a slight bounce helps, I found it jostles the top of the tower a bit & makes it a bit easier for the bubble to lift up most of that front tower. I rarely got the helmet pig on the right with the 1st shot, he’s a tough one. A good score is 30k+.
2nd shot to the middle of the right tower, activating just as she comes into contact. Got lucky with a lot of destruction.
The pink bird takes a bit of getting used to but is fun!
@karen68 I’m confused, i thought @moonsabre was talking about bounce on the second shot?
I’ve had good luck on the first, bouncing off the apple, but can’t get that helmet pig very often, and I’m having no luck with the secund shot, all the did p debris goes to the right
@kathy hmmm my comment doesn’t seem to make much sense doesit… let me give it a few tries.
Thanks @Karen68 ??
Thanks @Karen68 That does help a bit, I’ll stick to that one?
@kathy I couldn’t get near my score, best I could do was 61k, using birdjo’s excellent detailed strat.
To bounce or not to bounce, well I don’t know why I talked about bouncing the 1st shot, it works best if Stella drops straight down on the 1st shot, without bouncing off. Sorry I’m not much help! ?
It’s not how many stones or blocks you can lift, but how high they can lift & fall down to destroy other blocks.
I got a 1-Birder with Little Miss Bubbles, and it just cleared the 3 star score, I need to get it higher.
Why people are excited with this round and the new bird? pink one doesn’t possess much destructive power like black or yellow… to me this is really challenging if you want to get above average score i.e. 57k+
Probably because it’s more about strategy rather than brute force. At least, that’s why I like her. :) Like the blue bird(s) for the same reason.
Regarding the order of shots. The right tower on its own almost never yields more than 10k worth of debris (not counting a pig.) Doing that shot first would seem to make sense; deciding whether to reset based on score.
10,000 = keep going
HOWEVER – when one collapses the left tower first, some of the rubble lands on top of the right pig. Because you can pick it up with bubbles at the same time as the right tower, you touch it twice. This gives you a better chance of more than 10k on the right.
Two big problems when all three pigs pop with 1 bird –
1. This level starts counting QUICKLY if you pop all pigs. Getting another shot off is tough.
2. You don’t get to touch debris twice because without the right pig, it’s too low. You can’t get stuff on the ground AND enough of the right tower to equal more than the 10,000 value of the bird.
You have to decide in a split second what is more likely to give you a higher score. An unused bird or debris points that could range from 8-12k.
All of the above is why I’m still just under 60,000, lol!
Good luck with challenge, all. If anyone has a guaranteed way of getting big points on the right with the first bird, please share!
Ok – Greater-than and less-than symbols seem to delete text. The above should read:
“Deciding to reset based on score:
• less than 10,000 reset
• greater than 10,000 keep going”
That’s because the greater than and less than symbols are used in html coding.
Yes. I’ve just never had it affect a comments section before so it didn’t occur to me. Thx!
No problem @Maiasatara. If you’re familiar with coding, you can use them in comments throughout the Nest.
Good luck with today’s Challenge ;)
I have a personal vendetta against Seasons Back to School. I hate this episode with a passion. LOL! Before I did Challenges, I was just a 3 star chaser. At the time nearly all of the levels frustrated me to just get to that achievement. Jaydee has to work on forgiveness.. Hahaha.
That aside, please forgive Jaydee for being daft, but @bonneypattycat @moonsabre @birdjo @karen68 , what little bounce are you referring to, upwards from the pig or leftwards from the 2nd tower?
@Jaydee we are referring to the small stone block at the top left of the first tower. Stella should bounce slightly off that block which loosens the tower pieces and starts to fall down alongside the tower. In that split second activate her bubbles. Most of the tower pieces will be lifted then dropped to the right (middle) over the pigs.
Thanks for that @sweetp , I had the wrong impression altogether! #whoops#
Yeah, today’s challenge did nothing to make me like or forgive Seasons Back to School. My scores remain horrid and I still hate the episode. Bring on Rio Market Mayhem. ;-)
I dont like the pink bird! Its 2nd in my list of hated birds (1st is the boomerang bird). Stella is so weak if you dont use her power, and while talking to her power – its hard to predict how much bubbles will create, also I have noticed that the bubbles goes to right every time(thats sucks if you want to just get up the debris then drop then from high). Aslo her voice is annoying, and every time that I must use her I mute the game  Its good to get new birds but, Rovio should make them useful… and with normal voice!
@admins : Have flagged the top score on this level, as it’s 8K higher than second place, with no supportive strat/screenshot given. Same player has also posted a top score 8K above second place on level 1-10. These are difficult levels even for top ranked players, so possibly PU scores entered in error? Thanks.
