Our strategy for Rocket Rumble Level #1 is to fling the Red bird into the first detonating cord. That will ignite the far right rocket, and destroy the main structure. The score in the video below is 46,170.

Took a look on this during Eggspedition, was just curious. Well, bird into the cave, grabs grass, detonates cord, then jumps out and detonated other cord. Since now scores are entered yet, I’m to have a highscore! (just kidding).

Send red bird just slightly below horizontal, will set off first and last rockets. Extra points if bird rolls afterwards to take out grass and mushroom.

I agree, this strategy has worked the best for me, but don’t get discouraged. The difference between 45k and 50+k on this level is once again a factor of luck. Just keep flinging and you’ll get there.

Couldn’t agree more! I rammed the tower, which partially collapsed to the right, igniting the far right rocket. This then got tangled in the debris and exploded, clearing almost all of what was left and ignited the middle rocket.

54860 – top score! :-)

Ramming the tower did it for me. I have been aiming at the horizontal wooden plank above the stone blocks. The partial collapse left enough on the right side of tower for the right rocket to engage and explode like @jbygden describes, clearing the remains of the tower and igniting both the middle and left rockets.

There is an alternate but much harder method that I think has potential for top score: aim the bird toward the head of the yellow/middle rocket. If hit right, it will bend and hit the tower sending debris on the ground activating right-most rocket. The tower was hit by both rockets and blown to smithereens, although there was lots of debris laying on the ground. The score was a disappointing 48.5K, however, which you get when lower part of the tower stays intact :( Not sure if it was the case here but this level has a scoring bug where if the top monkey is blown very high up in the air, it is not counted!

I shoot directly at the rightmost rocket. If the bird lands on the tip it often deflect it down a bit so it can land in the middle of the structure. Best outcome is when the nose of the rocket is where the little red lantern is (or whatever this is). Got 151k without igniting right most rocket so 153k possible like this

I agree! I was able to go over 52K using the same strategy, too.
If it was extremely unlikely, I felt that I disturbed the base of the structure in this strategic unexpectedness.

almost 54k now without leftmost rocket or mushroom and still a lot of debris so 56k more possible with this strat

Agreed that this is the best strategy, @bonneypattycat — thanks @eweber. After many, many, MANY attempts, finally got 54,180 with the left rocket and mushroom intact. What was different this time is that the middle rocket flipped and blasted into the tower causing a huge explosion. Screenshot: http://angrybir.de/1e5TiOc.

I still think there is a bug on this level where one and sometimes both monkeys are often not counted. Anyone else notice this?

I agree with you on the “no-count” marmosets. I’ve been trying to get past my high score for way too many hours.
I’ve been using Manu’s strategy of hitting the rightmost rocket first. Finally had the rocket explode at the base of the tower…. Blew it to bits and set off the middle rocket. There was a few bits of rock debris, the leftmost rocket and mushroom remaining. Score- 43k….. Very disappointed.
But back to flinging.

I’m a “little” behind in ABR & was quite disheartened when just starting off I not just had trouble getting 3* on my Android phone, but it was an oh-so-embarrassing 49010. Many flings later I’d only had a couple of other 3* scores & I was still 1k from above average, even though I thought I was flinging correctly to the far right rocket.

I’ve been known to spend days to obtain an above average score before moving to the next level, although almost never with any ABR levels. I reread several posts, paying particular attention to manu malin (@eweber,) the “ABR God” & slightly minimized my phone screen to get a better handle on hitting the right rocket….a big TY

I was aiming to the nose of the rocket but actually am not 100% sure where it hit. This time, when the rocket launched it hit between the 2 small square stones. As the rocket hit the stones it took a small “bounce” back & then thrust itself thru the structure. I just knew this was my above average fling & it was worth a whopping 54980. Unfortunately, it’s 1700 from TopScore. In looking at the pic I snapped, the rockets to the left of the structure are gone but the mushroom remains. Unfortunately, the right side of the pic isn’t shown so it’s of no help as far as where the bird landed to be of benefit to anyone else. Once again I’m so very close to a TopScore with a número dos rank/score.

TY @eweber your strat to hit far right rocket, it has worked the best for me also.

I tried the walk through strat of hitting the left fuses, got up to 50k.
Used hitting the middle rocket to bend to strike the platform , 48k (but fun to watch).
Tried the strat to just hit the platform directly, 51k. I thought that was as high of score I could get………. then I scrolled down to see this strat to hit the far right rocket, got 52k on 10th try!

I just kept repeating (for about an hour) until I finally got the rocket to hit the “magic spot”, 53,450! This higher score did take the other two rockets to be engaged, hit by falling debris. I also was fun to watch some very different outcomes (like it skimmed up the side of structure then circled back around hitting the 2 right side rocks where rocket was first launched from!)

I also agree with @funikus about it not counting all the killed monkeys. I had this happen many times too. On one of my shots I would have had top score if that darn monkey was counted! I found if it flew off to top of screen too high, off to the left side, or even drop down in background….. That sometimes it would not count the 5k points. (I believe there was a similar issue with 2013 winter seasons? … If pig was throw out of screen view no points. New programmer maybe?!?!?!??? ).

Again TY Manu Malin, for all your other wonderful input and strats in any other levels too. Your input is always very helpful and valued. D. :-)

Sitting in the garden,partially blinded by the sun but thought “why not,can’t hurt to try” The FIRST fling to right most rocket and kaboom! Rocket headed directly into structure causing fab explosion! Cheers @eweber! So the trick is to revisit using master flingers techniques whilst not paying attention and temporarily blinded. ;) Whatever…..I’m taking that and running!

same here, there is a pixel, you can hit the rocket so,
rocket hit the stones, not the wood.

Used the same strategy thanks @eweber. Took a while and have to say it took a bit of luck with the right hit of the rocket into the main structure. Hit the structure a number of times but with less points. This time hit the sweet spot and the explosion destroyed a lot.

I hit the first detonation cord at the very tip so he kept going and hit the blue rocket to the right. The rocket from the far right came and hit the structure and the blue rocket hit some of the extra debris.

Interesting thing. front attacked by 2 fuses and 1 mushroom or back attack (and other method) will give similar effect. All 3 rocket must be started for better scores (over 50K+). Huge disaster of main construction is not enought.

Damage on this level is weird anyway. I can have far right rocket knock down the entire structure, leaving only a few blocks, then debris set off the other rockets and get the mushroom, and still only get 48k
