66220 with two birds. Same placement with the first, then the second to finish off the one monkey left over.
63350 with 3 birds, slightly different method. First- bring white bird in low, drop egg in front of first block pile and explode first monkey. Blue birds slightly higher and collapse second tower and middle monkey. Yellow bird in higher arc- hit stone block and collapse last tower of three blocks onto last monkey. I almost made this with two birds (top glass in center almost hit the stone block on the far right stack-so close!!)I will keep trying. I think my score will be close to 68000 if I can make it. I love the expression on the monkey’s face when it gets hit!
Okay, maybe those are marmosets:). I thought for sure they were monkeys, but saw that I was wrong. Still like the facial expressions, though.
A marmoset is a monkey. It is just a different species, but it is a monkey so it is accurate and appropriate to call them monkeys. I don’t know why people get anal over small things like this
Sorry guys, can’t resist poking my nose into it. To be precise this is common marmoset (Callithrix jacchus), one of the 22 species of marmosets exists in today’s world. Just for fun… LOL… thank you.
So many variables in this puzzle. I hit with the first white bird a little lower and got the middle monkey to go and the tower on the right flung the ice pieces to the right and caught the monkey on the far right and took out almost all the debris to the right side as well. All that was left was the monkey on the far right which you take out with the second bird. The first bird yielded such a high score that I have not been able to repeat. Those pieces of ice on top of the second structure have to fly in the air and fall just right to get the monkey to the left.
Sorry, I meant the ice pieces on the right side of the middle tower have to fly just right to hit the monkey on the RIGHT side, not left. And the remaining monkey was the one closest on the LEFT. The first half of the post was correct but I had the second part of the paragraph backwards.
76740 with one bird..
Shot the egg bird up so it came down and landed right in the middle of the two towers, I then released the egg so that the bird hit the right side tower and caused it to topple into the small stack on the far right :-)Lucky..
Have screen shot if needed.
I got 63260 using your method. Only took out the right of the two towers and the far right tower and marmoset. Blue bird took care of the other two.
68210 with this method but I had to use the 2nd bird to polish it off.
Finally got the one birder after many tries – got 70k, so not the highest, but above average, thanks :)
Did the same strategy with the white bird and then used the blue bird to get,the far right monkey and some glass.
74000 with SymonD’s method – took a long time though!!
Yea..barely made the last star. I just know u all think this is fun. Seriously, why is it so hard? Do I need a physics or geometry class to play this game?
70380 – If you aim and time just right when the white bird is in between the two towers but closer to the first tower then drop the egg, it will cause the first tower to explode getting rid of the first marmoset, the second tower will topple the stack getting rid of the third marmoset and the remaining pieces in the air will come down and get rid of the second marmoset.
Goodluck
66080 with 2 birds. After about 50 attempts dropped egg between towers killing all bur last marmoset. Launched blue bird splitting it just before last tower so it toppled onto last marmoset. Thanks for the tips, they’re great.
A big thanks to Wanda for the strat with her first bird!!! I was stuck on 58K forever until I read your post, all though it took ALOT of tries your concept worked best for me as the problem bird for me was that stupid middle one since bluebirds dont easily break wood. I used my first bird like Wanda says very low in front of first strucure and it takes care of that but couldnt get second bb to break miidle monkey as its protected by the wood so I flung my second bb higher to take out second half of second structure, the ice blocks which fell into the third structure and third bird to break the wood and middle monkey…geeezz this was a tough one!
I think that the easiest method for the first shot is to have the white bird be closer to the leftmost ice tower when diving between them, and releasing the egg just before impact with the wood plank. The second shot, for the farthest marmoset is to ensure that, after separation, that b/b strikes the hollow concrete block, thus tipping over the rightmost stack onto the marmoset. The third, and final shot involves sending yellow in a high, tight arc, and powering up when you are certain of going through the plank and striking the marmoset. That leaves little red for bonus points.
65090.birds wb egg to the middle..took out everythi.g but far right monkey..bb finish off. Gonna come back amd try for one birder another time..ty forhelp:)
I’m just a little behind ya (still on 2-12), i think we can help eachother much more when we are at the same scedule…
[If you want to go on, you can, i’m yust tellin’]
seriously, why is this game so hard? i’m doing exactly what the vid shows!!! is the original angry birds any easier than rio??
my problem is the monkey in the middle. i can knock everything down, but it still stands there! :/
finally got it! ignore the latter half of the waklthrough! the first bird you def need to get right in the middle and drop the egg. the rest of this walkthrough is not useful
Sorry you feel that way. We try really hard to make the walkthroughs helpful.
I’ll just tell everybody upfront that the left most tower is unstable and shifts to the left. I haven’t waited or restarted enough to see if it falls. Whether it does or not, it is important to get the first shot of quickly because of this. By shifting rightward is almost completely locks you out of a one bird solution.
@swelld I noticed this too. I’ve left it for about 5 minutes & never saw it fall, but it sure does lean, so yes if you’re trying to get in between the towers with the white bird do it fast. Maybe that’s why that shot never works for me as it’s a precision shot & I need time to line it up.
Haven’t figured out yet if it gives an advantage to the method of bringing white bird low in front of 1st tower, have to experiment with that.
that wasn’t clear: the left tower shifts and leans to the RIGHT. my mistake. (what else is new)
@swelld, this explains so much! I couldn’t figure out why I kept clipping the corner of the first part of the structure when I knew my shot should have been fine! Shooting fast is definitely the key, though it resulted in some wildly errant shots for me because there’s little time to aim.
Still working on it. Unlike my friend @lesleyg, I can get the one birder, but not consistently . . .
@DocTonyNYC scroll down to the bottom to read further on this topic. You actually don’t have to rush!
Thanks, @swelld. I’ll watch it a bit more closely. I may need to get my reading glasses out!
I just now saw this mention..lol @doctonynyc…I was eventually able to get the one birdie…if you scroll down below you will see I have a pretty good screenshot showing my aiming point for one bird BUT it doesn’t work everytime because as mentioned…the tower isn’t always in the same place, so depending on if it has shifted left or not, depends whether or not I can get the shot. This level has driven me mad..because you can aim at the exact right trajectory but if that first tower hasn’t shifted left, it gets in the way…and it’s not like you can just aim it to come in a little more right because then it hits too close to the right tower, urgh!!!
Also I was very much robbed on a shot today, lol…I hit it perfectly and broke the wood and right most tower fell over and everything…then a piece of glass fell right on top of the now exposed monkey (the monkey under the wood) and it just sat there…laughing at me..it stayed alive and it really should have died…it was a direct hit…and the worst part is…If he would have died like he was suppose to I would have had over 77K and got top score, ever since this happened and now I know that I was so close I feel like I have to keep trying until I get it back! I now hate this level, lol
@lesleyg. Several times, on this level, I’ve had similar problems with that middle pig. At least three times, I’ve had a glass block fall on the pig and shatter–with no damage to the pig!
It’s always interesting coming back to a walkthrough page a year or so later. You get to play archaeologist, as the messages left by our comrades are often like hieroglyphs. So if you are reading this and the year is not 2012, you have my permission to ridicule any clues I might leave about this puzzling level. In a nutshell – probably a coconut shell since this is Rio – the middle marmoset is the key. Because the monkey’s surrounded on all sides by wood, the first bird must clear a path for the blue bird(lets) who are up next. Everyone knows the triplets don’t do wood, so if white bird doesn’t hit that area with all she’s got, you might as well quit playing Angry Birds and join the circus. Seriously, y’all. Haters gotta hate, players gotta play and… Blue Bird gotta split. Just make sure one doesn’t leave before pushing that last tower over. Aloha.
P.S. Marmoset there’ll be days like this. There’ll be days like this, my marmoset. (with apologies to The Shirelles)
too funny surfcow!
a one bird solution is maddingly possible by slitting the towers. You have to get in there early before the lean closes you off. You need to be able to drop the bomb on the left side of the middle and LOW to the wooden plank to clear it.
Check this vid as it’s excellent so show the strat. It is not mine but all credit to the uploader!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Duc-1tZViMM
I should have said that that vid was a visual representation of a two bird solution like @surfcow said.
This vid is a perfect one bird solution.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lbhqi51kw4
@swellD Thank-you for the strat! After only about 800 tries, it worked!
@surfcow Thank-you for giving me the song to sing as time after time I battled the middle marmoset (who apparently had been in contact with the marmoset underground and knew to wear the ice proof headgear – the ice rolled onto him … and just sat there. Hmmm, perhaps the really hot weather we’ve been having just made the ice too soft? Perhaps it just felt good on marmoset fur?).
Glad you guys liked the parody. I forgot to give credit to several silly videos on YouTube for the hilarious lyrics. @swellD, you were right, the one-birder requires a laser-guided bomb drop that seemed to be beyond my slower-than- molasses reaction time. That poor mama bird slammed into that wood beam so many times I nearly called off my assault; her skull and my pointer finger were both suffering. I didn’t improve my two-bird score until the 801st attempt, @catsnbirds so I think you got me beat. Happy slingin’ and wingin’ all. Aloha.
I got 1-birder like video at last!
Thanks!
Excellent strategy. One bird. Worked great!
Marmoset marmoset..there be days like this marmoset marmoset.shoulda went walking;)
@Kathy, If you go walking then you’ll meet a pig named Billy Joe. And if you meet a pig named Billy Joe, he will offer to buy you a drink. And when he offers to buy you a drink, you’ll say “OK, let’s go to the Bloated Pig!”. And when you mention The Bloated Pig, Billy Joe will squeal, “Bloated Pig?!? What kind of a place is that? And why is the pig ‘bloated'”? And then you’ll say something politically incorrect. And after you put your foot in your mouth, Billy Joe will figure out you like Angry Birds. And once a pig knows you like Angry Birds, it’s game on, oinker.. And since it’s game on, it will be difficult to walk and play Angry Birds at the same time. So you might as well skip the walk and just play Angry Birds. You’re welcome. Aloha.
@surfcow, thanks for my morning giggle :)
Lol..ill take your advice @surfcow..that walk doesn’t so good anymore;)
LoL @surfcow!!! So true! For example my above hieroglyphs; I wrote: “couldnt get second bb to break miidle monkey as its protected by the wood so I flung my second bb higher to take out second half of second structure…” I mean Duh!!! I guess in my defense I will say bb’s will break through the very thin plank as I’ve done it this morning but still, lol..sometimes I read back on my old comments and think, “Really…what was I thinking that day!” Perhaps some of them are “middle of the wee hours” post that might explain alot, lol ;-) Thanks for a good laugh my friend!!!
So my new and improved “2012” strat is that I found a spot in the background that consitantly lands the WB in between the towers and gave me a one birdie, but my score needs work! I play on iPad and fully zoomed in and used the “curved” highlighted, kinda banana shaped mountain in the background. If you aim it up to have WB’s right side of her body line up to the “curved” mountain’s base and the top of this mountain , she should land right in the middle of the towers and drop egg as late as possible and pray falling debris will knock the right tower as well ;-)
P.S. Marmoset life is like a box of chocolates…(with apoplogies to all, tee hee…couldn’t help myself, all though I’m sure I’ll regret it coming back to this page… say in 2013 or maybe even later today, lol)
Here’s a screenshot of the trajectory I used ;-)
http://angrybir.de/OAhRnE
@lesleyg Thank you your screen shot was a big help. If I could expand a bit on aiming this shot. When zoomed out, the 3 waiting birds are in front of a rock that looks like a chair. When you pull the white bird down, the side edge of this rock should be under about the middle of the black sling. It’s still a finicky shot but this helped me get your trajectory more often, & eventually do this level in one bird. Thank you! :)
@karen68, You’re welcoms and I’m so glad it helped you;-) I often find it helpful to pick out a background object for shots like this where you need your bird to go in one tracetory over and over…and over again, lol ;-) Nice job!!!
Okay ABN flingers, I’m gonna post this as an alternate strategy not because it’s a new method but because it’s a more detailed method of the one I talked about before and it’s to point out a glaring error on my part.
I mentioned how the left tower leans. Well I was wrong. I kept noticing that my shot would hit that tower inconsistently and other times it would surprise me and sail through. I THOUGHT it was because I was imperceptively moving on release…..nope. What was different was I was taking a bit longer to release my shot. That was the key.
The aha moment was watching the left tower shift on several restarts. While it does eventually slide down and to the right over time, it can do so in an unpredictable way. That is, it can go LEFT enough to open up that middle to get a great shot. It does do that frequently. You still don’t have a lot of time but you don’ have to rush. I could see whether it was going to open up best on the zoomed out view. But that is the worst to line up with.
My trajectory for this is almost perpendicular to the sling. The is a color change in the background rock and I move back enough from the sling to see only a small piece of both colors. You all can adjust from that.
I already improved 1k after seeing this btw
Everytime I get the perfect angle as @lesleyg. And @karen68. So presciley describe..White Vail will not drop her egg..!!!
@E-Star you need to have a talk with her…
@kathy. For as long as long as I have played the AB games (and that dates back to almost the very day ABO went on sale!), I’ve had a testy relationship with the WB. I can’t tell you how many times I tap the screen, knowing she hasn’t hit anything yet, but she refuses to drop her egg! It makes it tricky because, as you know, on most levels you want to drop the egg at the last possible moment.
Ohh @DocTonyNYC ..I have tapped my phone..sometime hard enough to break screen..I’ve actually knocked my phone out of my hand lol..she drives me nuts!!! Srry but glad I’m not the only one ..we seem to say that to each other a lot..LOL ;)
finally breaking 70! the wood protecting the center marmie busted on the impact of the egg bomb, and it took our the left structure and marmie, carcass took the top of the next structure and threw it into the right structure, toppling it and falling on the last marmie. a piece of ice fell left on top of the center marmie and actually killed it!
