Our strategy for Hidden Harbor Level #8 is to bomb the bottom-right tower, ricocheting the White bird back onto a nearby TNT. Aim the Black bird into the top-left structure, rendering the bridge unstable. The score in the video below is 174,510.

Second shot on the video goes through the plain wooden box on the bottom. I aimed higher, trying to go through the Fish-Flag box just above it, or ideally to hit the intersection of the boxes, which breaks both. This collapse is a bit more energetic, and often leaves less debris up top.

Having so much trouble getting above 182. I was ready to complain but see the high is only 188, lol. I’m leaving only the milk bottle and one piece of wood on the right and then blowing up everything up top and breaking the bottom float into three pieces with nothing left on it. 178,000. There must be a ton of unbroken crap under water because I can’t see where another 10k would come from, otherwise. Been taking @kelani advice – to go through the second box – which works well to tip most to the left and also blow up the boxes to the right. If I go between or too high my bomb slides so far right that nothing tips onto the stone lattice (?) so nothing falls to the float on the left. It did get me above average though! Good luck, all.

@maiasatara Shooting the second bird as soon as possible like @peejaydee27 says seems to help. BUT…….another thing……..You know that annoying power up gift that parachutes in occasionally? I never really paid much attention to it, but one time it was in the way and I hit it directly with the first shot. I then noticed that in addition to whatever power-up you get, that gift is worth 3000 points! So…on your 182K score, it it had happened when the gift was there, you would have 185K. That makes this level, (and maybe others—I’m not sure of the gift score on other levels) pretty irritating. If you want a really high score, every reset that doesn’t feature the gift is just a practice shot.

Thanks @stocktoad. I haven’t seen any gifts for this one. I think the last time they floated in for me was in AB original several days ago? I’m going to try the simultaneous destruction now. I had an eye appointment and my pupils are still a bit dilated. Curious to see if that helps or hurts, lol.

Lol. I’m slamming into the left structure, cutting the egg drop short by 1 or 2mm and throwing a ton of drbris left. Now I regularly break 180 but not enough to improve. Funny though!

@maiasatara Very interesting……I wonder what triggers the “gift” I have never paid any attention to it at all, but it kept showing up on this level….I don’t know….maybe once every 10 resets? Actually it’s funny I have never seen it mentioned before especially if it is always worth 3K…..maybe I just missed it.

For todays challenge I kept moving the second shot and found that if I went higher than the fish box and played with the timing I had better luck. Try to send only as much as needed back to the left to collapse the bridge.

Have had my best result from shooting bomb bird as soon as possible after Matilda drops her egg (as close as possible to the edge of the right structure). Seemed like both sets of destruction going on simultaneously can destroy more debris, although scores vary a lot (as usual!). I’ve noticed that using this method tends to cause better destruction of the raft, and I think that yields quite a few extra points. :))

Thanks @peejaydee27, the quick-fire 2nd shot worked for me. I also sent the 2nd shot a bit higher than the walkthrough, more directly through the labelled crate, then manually detonating once it has gone through the crate. The tip from @hoy49 also is a good one – the less debris that falls off to the left the better. The bridge will fall even if just the rectangular stone block from the very top falls on it. I think the pontoons (or whatever they are) under the raft are worth some nice points, I got 2 of them with my 186k score.

I’d mananged to improve Android phone 181550 to 183640 this way. After a long break today I just started again & maybe 15 – 20 min in got 185110. I’m pretty sure part of the increase is that every last thin stone plank on the bottom was destroyed. If the 3k @stocktoad mentioned had appeared I would have tied the TopScore …. now wouldn’t that be frustrating????

Fling, rinse, repeat. It doesn’t appear that there’s a better solution for this so it’s mostly a matter of luck to get more damage. Good aiming tip from @kelani up above. :)
