Angry Birds Rio Hidden Harbor Walkthrough Level #7

Our strategy for Hidden Harbor Level #7 is to topple the main tower using a Yellow bird. If needed, fling the Red bird underwater to detonate the TNT on the right side of the boat. The score in the video below is 113,220.

I followed the walk through, YB knocked most of the right tower to the left onto the boat which knocked over the left side boat tower, finished with red under the boat, bounced off wall onto the TNT.

@fenikus, @jonstad : I have been playing this level for hours this evening ( local time Norway ) to find out how I made the high score and I am now sure it was a one birder. As I se it, the clue is to lob over the boat, just brake the wooden crate and the supporting stick on the ground so that the concrete block drops down and a little to the left, making the tower fall as far left as possible.

Thanks from me as well @geirh61. I couldn’t see how 1-birder was possible but your reply made me try some more and almost got it couple of times. Two vertical wooden planks on the right side of the boat sometimes start leaning left or right and I figure eventually detonate the TNTs. Also followed the video exactly (many times) but only got just over average. Then one of those gift boxes popped up and settled on top of the first structure, so it was popped by my usual first shot. Right away I got almost 123K and 3rd place on the LB. I’ve read in other posts about this, but I’m not sure what the consensus is about these scores. I never use power-ups and I don’t want to claim a higher position if it’s not fair. Can admin please advise. Thanks.

@peejaydee27 I’m just another flinger, so don’t take this as gospel, but in previous discussions, admins said there’s nothing that can be done about the gifts. They’re impossible to police, therefore, there is no policy. Undoubtedly they raise average scores, and there are probably high scores obtained using them, maybe even a few that are otherwise impossible.

My feeling is that most people are unaware they give 3k points, so they hit them and keep flinging, or ignore them. Of course some will deliberately take advantage of the opportunity, and others will follow because they think everyone else is doing it.

Since I learned they were worth points, my personal policy is to hit the gift, then reset. That way it’s gone, and my scores won’t be affected. Those powerups will sit and collect dust for as long as I play :)

With that said, I’d say you are within your rights to post the 122,990 score. It’s good there are two higher scores. Unless #2 and #1 also got them with gifts, I don’t think it’s given you an unbeatable score. Of course, you could always subtract the 3K gift bonus and post 119,990, but that is entirely up to you. Hope that helps.

Many thanks. From what you say, I agree that using this random ‘gift’ seems to be much the same in principle. As I absolutely will not use power-ups, I have deducted 3K from my score.

If you use the video strat, here’s a trick that may help you get more points: Clip the bottom corner of the hollow stone box. Sometimes it will break, other times it will roll back to the triangular block that acts like a pivot. That’ll make the structure fall a bit harder, and it destroys the plank and boxes (4-6k) that usually remain on the upper platform.

Thanks for the tip @kelani. Used this many times to obtain a higher score. Tried many times for over a week to get a one bird solution but couldn’t get the right structure on the boat to explode even though it moved back and forth a few times.

At this posting, I just got very lucky to get 122,140 using 2 birds. I’m with @fenikus as regards having had a hard time even ENVISIONING a 1-birder :-O . THX4 your post, btw – very encouraging …. since – on very RARE occasion, I have seen a marginal ‘lean’ —- looking like just maybe it is possible for me (PC) to get a ‘OB’er :-) . No joy so far :-). I also got a one birder also like video. Came in a little high, zoomed down to hit the box, and clipped the corner of the stone square. It flipped and broke. Then things on the right side slowly started to fall. Almost reset, but let it play. Everything seemed like slow motion. Left side of boat slowly fell. Then stuff in the middle started shaking and hit the bombs. Everything just blew to smithereens. Could not believe it took me to first place. Did not have gift box nor power up, just plain luck.

@mrsshrek thanks for posting that. I’ve always liked the clip the box corner approach, but was about to abandon it as a failure. Not anymore, now that we know it works. Congrats on your score! :)

Not sure how to take advantage of it, but when you hit the life preserver to the right of the upper structure, it bounces out to the left. It would give the upper structure one heck of a shot, now to figure out how to get there…

After 50 (at least) attempts, my 1st and only one birder yielded 130,480. I’d been using the clip the box corner strat ala @kelani (thanks yet again!). Watching tv, looked back, and there it was.

It really seems like there should be some other strat that would work well on this one, but I can’t find it. As far as I can tell, @burbman ‘s bouncing life preserver is a MacGuffin. Hitting higher up on the first shot can cause good damage to the top, but not much on the bottom. Reversing the shots produces lower scores, not higher. I got my 124K with a two birder. I’ve been close to a one birder, but not so close as to make me want to spend a great deal of time trying to get it.

So when I play I try a level a number of times before I come here to see if I’m on the right track or if a more clever person has found a better way. Turns out that this time I was reversing the first two shots and having a heck of a time. Lesson learned.

I have not seen this “gift” of which others speak.

I did not receive a 3K gift to get this score. I followed the video. The only thing I did differently was to throw the second bird while the right tower was falling. I found this avoided having debris in the way for the shot and sometimes gave a bump to the stuff falling left.
