The latest update to the original Angry Birds (v1.6.2) is now available for iOS and Android via the Android Marketplace and Amazon Appstore. More platforms should be getting the update soon. This update includes chapter 16 of Mine And Dine (links to the original trailer).
In addition, we know this update includes:
- Rovio says that this update fixes the loading issue once and for all!
- 15 new levels within chapter 16
- There is at least one new Golden Egg. Checkout our Complete Golden Eggs Guide for the location and walkthrough.
- Additional achievements. No word yet on if the achievement bugs have been fixed, but we’ll try and confirm
- The minimum 3 star score on level 3-5 has been changed back (it was raised in the last update, but that was likely a mistake).

Yes! Found the Golden Egg on the top right of level 16-9…use the yellow bird in an arc shot.
I didn’t have much in the way of loading issues (just a little slower), but it does seem to be faster with this update.
FYI If you are using Iphone (verizon) it has a new software update which may help
So far Ch. 16 has been a good blend of easier levels where you can get high scores and harder levels that challenge you. I am anxious to see the Leaderboard for these levels and see what all the other AB fans have achieved. Nice job to Rovio for all the great releases recently!!!

Mine and Dine Chapter 16 update not available on Amazon Appstore. The update will probably arrive tomorrow by noon.
Just checked Amazon for the update, which as of the time stamp of this post still hasn’t hit yet. Perhaps tomorrow….

Still lack of logic checks on achievements you clearly should have such as the 50 feather achievement when you have both 100 and 200 feather achievements.
Levels were fun though.
It’s very nice that there are updates coming for iOS and Android, but I’m playing the PC version. Does anyone know when the Mine and dine update for pc will be released? Also am I with AB Rio on pc still waiting for the Carnival update.
I hate to say anything negative about Rovio, but I agree that PC/Mac are overdue for an update. We hope it lands soon.

Chapter 16 had some really hard levels, and I’m glad given how easy it was to get three stars on every level of Summer Pignic.
Agreed — after the relative ease for much of Seasons Pignic, the second set for Mine and Dine has been a bit more challenging. Yay!
Although to be fair I did rack up a really ridiculous score on Pignic, and my Mine & Dine score has been upped to over 3.5 million.

If it’s v1.6.0 or v1.6.1 then that is the previous update. v1.6.2 is the new one. I don’t believe it’s up on Amazon yet, though I wouldn’t be surprised if it were.

How do you guys make those walkthroughs? I just saw golden egg #24 walkthrough video and I knew it was on the iPad. Is their a way to record things on my phone without jail breaking it?
You would need FujiToast to tell you that, but as far as I know, jailbreak is necessary for video capture. Good observation that the new videos are iPad: The jailbreak for iPad2 just came out a week or two ago.
Wow, and I heard that the iPad was supposed to be jail-broken free.
iPad 2 does support video out, though the set up is expensive and cumbersome, so using the jailbreak is preferred. Jailbreak is the only way for every other iOS device.

Yes, although the word “jail” is part of the word “jailbreak”, there is nothing illegal about jailbreaking an iPhone or iPad — at least in the US (much to Apple’s dismay).

We definitely don’t condone illegal activities and I think our track record here affirms that. But as ChaosTsar mentioned, jailbreaking is completely legal.
How come its not showing up on my android market updates?
The post says that the update landed on iOS, and a user commented that it landed for Android via Amazon. We haven’t heard if it landed for Market yet. Should be soon.
For Android, the Mine and Dine update (v 1.6.2) will not show up until around lunchtime and updates usually take 2-3 days to process to Amazon Appstore and the Android Market.

Yes, you receive a feather after achieving Total Destruction with the Mighty Eagle. The Mighty Eagle is currently only available to purchase on iOS devices.

Actually, I said “purchase” specifically for that reason. Yes, you can use the Mighty Eagle on NOOK Color while at a Barnes & Noble, but you can’t purchase it. For now tt goes away as soon as you leave.

I tired downloading the update on my iPhone…it crashed and my iPhone rejected it, still waiting for the update to work! My internet is fine…I don’t know what the problem is. I rebooted 3 times. Ugh. :(

The new golden egg is golden egg 24.You’ll find it at level 16-9.Little tip:on the most top shelf.I use yellow bird(s)!
To get the star just use the yellow birds to cut through all the three ropes and wait for a several minutes.Done!
Why is it that they don’t put the Android update out at the same time as iOS devices?? Its ridiculous!
Updates are sent to app stores by Rovio simultaneously. How long it takes for a particular store to approve the app is not Rovio’s issue.

I believe your concern is better directed to Android, not Rovio. They send out updates as soon as they are ready. They aren’t biased towards iOS or against Android. It just takes time for updates to be approved. Sometimes it takes longer than others.

I have AB on auto update for android marketplace and have not got an update. Try to do it manually as well. No update on marketplace yet that I can find.

This sucks. Any news on a fix from rovio if uv lost ur game progress with original AB. After syncing mine iv lost all progress and have to play thru all 5 updates again which I’d 3 starred to play the latest update. Seasons and rio are fine tho?
Anything. Iv also emailed u guys to send me a copy of the .lua. Files but aint had them yet or would these not work with the iPhone? iPad only?

When I try to install the new update I receive the message “couldn’t install on USB storage or SD” I read to remove the SD card and then install but I feel like this would make me restart completely. can someone help?
You need enough space on your device (phone/PC) in order for the update to install on the USB/SD storage
I think you can also move the app to phone space for the update, then move it back to SD

There’s a bug on my iPod. There isn’t mine and dine on angry birds for my iPod.
You should see the v1.6.2 update if you check the AppStore.

If you can’t update through the App Store then I’m honestly not sure what to say. That would be an issue you’d have to contact Apple about.
